        • So you can assure us that cable internet is currently available to those properties?
How long ago was this, because they changed their policies and in the last few years is just not possible.

        • @Nachotroncoso: you cant assure anyones property. It will vary from one apartment block to another. Not ALL are cable, not ALL are satellite.

        • @tekkrohnz:
We are talking about Internet service through cable.

          @Nachotroncoso: my bad!

  • I guess it's a good way to get a free satellite dish.

    • That'll just rust

      • Mine has been up for about 3-4 years. No rust.

    Just talked to Foxtel Chat
They said that its misleading and no such offer exist.

Supposedly was open last month, and only gave 2 free months, so a tad confused.

    • I cannot confirm as i haven't signed up yet but I think this deal is when you get foxtel via Harvey Norman only so going directly though foxtel may not work.

      • I hope thats the case. Does it mean i have to buy a tv though?
I shared the link with foxtel and they said that deal closed last month so maybe not.

        • In the T&C's it doesn't mention anything about having to purchase a tv so certainly hope that is not required. also it says "Offer ends 31.07.16". If you go to HN let us know how you go.

        • @tevtin:

Yeh was due to go HN anyhow this weekend so will have a look.

          Remove your neg. So rude.

        • +1

@alabatusa: Your neg is based on going to the wrong retailer and you weren't even sure about the conditions. You should definitely remove the neg.

    • Dude, did you read? This offer is through Harvey Norman!!!
Read the post throughly before jumping on the neg button.

Went into HN today and signed up for the deal. There is marketing all over the place in the TV section, so the offer is well known to all (at least it was in my HN at Garden City, Queensland). They opened up a foxtel website and filled all my details in, Foxtel took a pre-approval for $10 on my credit card, printed out 3 pages. My installer is coming next Monday. Took <5 minutes. The guy in HN even reminded me to make sure I cancel before the 3 months is up.

    • Do you know if credit check is needed during application? Just don't want another hit on the credit file.

      • It didn't seem so. They took my credit card number or course. They didn't get any form of ID off of me… just name, address, birthdate.

  • I cancelled my Foxtel yesterday, Went into Harvey norman today signed up and booked in for Monday.

    Easy peasy.

When the Harvey norman guy was processing my order he said he thought we had to buy a tv but thats not the case. They just try and make you think you have too xD.
    This was harvey norman Balgowlah.

They needed credit card info and that was it.

    • I plan to cancel my Foxtel, I did have the 3 months free with Telstra then transferred over, so you just went to HN and you were approved knowing you had foxtel previously?

      • Yeah, They asked if i had foxtel before and i said yes i did. And so they just booked in a tech to install new box. Was a little annoying since they had to swap foxtel boxes over for new service but its all installed and working now =-]

        • So if i cancel tomorrow and go to Harvey Norman on Friday will it be fine becuase I think I will still have the old Foxtel box? Sorry for the noob question, I'm new to this.

        • @kazjay51: Yeah that will be fine. I still have my old box foxtel will post you a letter with information on how to send it back to them.

They will send out a new technician and foxtel box when you sign up for the 3 months free =-]

        • @letthiswork1: Thanks for that will be cancelling my Foxtel soon then

  • Anyone know if I could use a prepaid visa for this deal?

    • +1

Pretty sure it would depend on how many shits the HN sales person gives.

  • Can I sign up to this deal using my mum/dad names to install it in the living room as I already have this service in my room?

  • I just contacted Harvey Norman and first person said it was a 12 month contract even after I read the details out then the second person said no it's 3 months then after that I can downgrade but still 12 month contract. I am guessing they don't know or the advertisement is misleading. From reading it looks like you would have to notify of changes in your second month as they bill a month ahead? Either the advertisement is tricky or ignorant staff.
