  I haven't used a travel agent in years.

  I don't think there's anything that Flight Centre sells that you can't buy elsewhere for cheaper, is there? :)

    Agree. I regularly use Jetabroad for international flights. They have a $50 cashback offer for a $500 minimum purchase which ended on 14th May. A $100 discount off a purchase of $1,500 is much less attractive in comparison.

    For simple no-frills flights, sure, you'd be silly to go to a travel agent for that. But if you need a complex itinerary you may not be able to book it over the Net because the web forms are limited in what they can do. For example, I needed an open-jaw flight to a country, entering by one city and leaving by a different one. There was no way to do that on the airline's web page without getting it counted as two single trips which cost more than one return trip.

    One thing you can do is get a web quote, print it out, and take it to your travel agent to beat.

  agreed, There is so much more to go wrong on overseas or difficult bookings, and a travel agent has to ensure that everything is right and fix it, if it's wrong, whereas you booking it means its your problem if it goes wrong.

  ozkish, how did you get this voucher? was it via subscription to their newsletter or otherwise?

  I ask because I intend to use it in the next day or so and am sure I'll be asked how I obtained it - my local FC staff are nice but weary as I always rock up with insane deals for them to price match lol

    used this today, managed to get flight centre to price match a website which was 100 less than booking directly with the airline, then dropped the 100 voucher bomb so 1750 flights for 1550. I'm a happy chappy!

  thanks a lot for this. Got flight centre to match the quote from jetaboard which includes credit card fees. Then gave this $100 voucher and flight centre on top of that gave us 2 x $20 voucher due to price match. So, saved $200 dollars from original price + got a $40 voucher.

    did you buy insurance as they would not give me the voucher unless i bought insurance? cuz it says air and land on the voucher
