  • EK have just won #1 Airline from Skytrax

    • Thanks! Updated.

Emirates (Rank #2 in the world) and……. Qantas

    • no.1 on Kangas Digest

    • I flew from Milan Italy to Melbourne via Dubai a few years ago. First leg of the flight was with Emirates, second with Qantas. The Qantas flight was horrible compared to the Emirates one. If I were to do that route again, I'd totally avoid all the Qantas codeshares.

Just a suggestion to make it clear, but poster could use the proper 3 letter airport code in upper case.

    • +4

That would make it clearer for me, but not the general population.

      • He could use the proper code but then not many people would know where BNE or KUL are.

"Hey Shazza there is a Jetstar sale to OOL!"

    Flying with A380?

    • No. WF and EK don't use the A380 on flights from Australia to Singapore.

      • +1

Not true. I took EK405 / QF8405 MEL to SIN on Sunday. A380.

    Hey IWTF. While you're here…

I was wondering if AirAsia, for example, formally allows you to scrape their prices?

I know Jetstar use to intentionally provide corrupted data to farehunter and was wondering if LCCs have lightened up since then or simply dictate "fair use" terms to price scrapers.

    • +1

All the great sites I used to use seem to have broken or only 1 or 2 left…it is just stupid trying to hide their cheapest fares - most of the LCC booking sites are terribly bad to use for low fare finding.

      Hi,

These days all airlines have APIs that you can hook up. You can also get the information from 3rd parties like travelfusion or even from Sabre/Amadeus.

      • Thanks for the info.

I was under the impression that GDSs like Amadeus would frown upon (i.e. charge for) repeated queries, making aggregate analysis cost prohibitive.

I also believe AirAsia is extremely selective with who they share their direct API?

If, for example, IWTF wanted to store and display the cheapest one-way prices found each day (e.g. last 6 months) for a specific date with a carrier (like a date-specific "product" with pricing history ala pricehipster) could you get in trouble or be accused of breaching "intellectual property"?

    Qantas Perth-Singapore is on a 737 FYI.

  • Nice….. I'm flying Singapore in October via Scoot .. Haha budget airline 360 return for the win….

  • I've doe the MEL-KUL return with EK using the Qantas codeshare. (Thank you Expedia Brazil)

Downside of that flight, the terrible hours but that means next to no one in the lounge, no wait time at security and immigration (and back) and the load on the plane was that bad that most people in economy had the four seats in the middle to make a bed for themselves and then move back to the window to watch the landing.

They're also canning the KUL stop over later in the year for the direct flight to DXB.

  • I don't get how your site works.

Using PER - KUL as an example, this bargain states that you will be flying Emirates or Qantas. I know that Emirates and Qantas do not do direct flights from PER - KUL, upon clicking "Perth to Kuala Lumpur Flights(iwantthatflight.com.au) $456 Return using Visa Credit Card. $479 using CC." link, I see on your site it says "Flying Emirates. Return flights from $455", then clicking on "Select Flight" it only shows results from Malindo and AAX.

    Am I doing something wrong?

  • Any good deals to Japan or South Korea? not a big fan of Malaysia or Singapore. Too crowded, hot and messy.

      Lol too crowded.
