          @Steptoe:
          Actually tastes better no joke.
I'm lactose intolerance but I'm gonna buy it anyway cause devondale doesn't screw me over as hard.

In the agreement announced today, Coles will also stock Devondale-branded cheese products and pasteurised milk. The milk will be processed at two new facilities in Melbourne and Sydney, in which Devondale is investing $120 million

        • @Zeral:
So are you agreeing with me or not?

Coles gets its milk now from Murray Goulburn who have the Devondale Brand and now make Coles Home brand.

All the milk is the same, Woolies home brand is from Bega Cheese now

          Milk is milk.

@SamR: you're totally incorrect im sorry to say. Pura, Devondale, Pauls and Riverina make the best milk on the market as its very creamy (in the order listed above)

Coles milk is watered down and not creamy. I do prefer this sometimes but not all milk is made the same. Companies actually strip the milk down then readd fat and other things to make it the standard 1% fat for light, 2% fat for full cream etc or to the recipe of that brand of milk.

You can now get gernsey milk too, its around 4.5% fat and actually has the fat layer on top.

Milk is alllllll made differently. You can also get bad batches of milk too with low protein (commonly found in coles / woolworth milk) so if you're a barista like me your milk wont froth well and hold its shape well. You'll also notice it forms large bubbles which can look like a high acidity content however, its lack of protein in the milk.

        • @neofelis:
I have bought both and honestly cannot tell the difference. Since we are not talking about 5% more for the branded milk but 50% more I am not prepared to pay so much more for a brand. Especially when I know it all comes from the same place.

They had the farmers that supply Murray Goulburn on the ABC and they were happy to get the Coles contract. $1 a litre milk is about the standard price for milk internationally.

    • Always $2.50 my Local Coles.

often available at $2 from either coles or woolies

  • This has been on special since the milk boycott - past month or so.

Too bad coles has no milk because they're on strike lol

  • Devondale milk in a 10 pack of 1L is always $10 at Costco (membership required)

  • Devondale milk is usually $2 anyway at my woolies. No big deal.
