worth reminding the folks here that you will not receive the 2% cashback on paypass purchases after 30 September 2016

    • +19

New signups won't receive 2% cashback at all. No mention of it on ING's website.

      • +19

It's also worth using a referral link instead of the coupon code — better two people receive $75 than one.

        1. Click here to select a random OzBargainer's referral link.

        2. Note down the referral code from the URL (last 6 characters) in case you need to enter it later.
          eg ABC123 from 'https://www.campaigns.ingdirect.com.au/75bonusoffer?code=ABC123'

        • deleted, someone else already posted the same thing

        • @twinbag:

That's why you (re)enter the code independently.

  • +1

Looks eligible for 10,000 applicants btw.

Email they sent out was wrong (said it expired July) but the link has updated details.

    • They sent out a new email correcting it.

  • done lets see if I get the $75 in my account

  • +2

I have an ING account (which i haven't used for a while), but where could i get a referral code so i can refer my Mum? Thanks.

    • It's provided in occasional emails sent by ING. Check at the bottom of emails they've sent to you.

    • You should receive an email by now. If you didn't receive anything just ring them and check your referral code.

  • +8

Hi guys the T&C clearly state you'll be ineligible if you post referal on ozbargain

If you use this offer in a manner that is not satisfactory to us or in line with the intent of the offer (such as sharing your referral code on the ‘OzBargain’ website or other similar websites), we may refuse to pay the $75 cash bonus (including in respect of any or all referrals made in relation to the offer). This includes conduct on your part which is designed to undermine the fair and intended operation of the offer

  • +1

    We're all friends on Ozbargain!

  • Do not post your referral code in the comments or solicit referrals (PM me etc.)

If you want to sign up via a referral code click the Referral Links: random (524) below the post.

If you want to add your referral code to the referral randomiser click the 'edit' link in the grey box below the deal.

The use of a referral is optional, anyone can sign up via the main link / WELCOME75 code to obtain the $75 without a referral link.

    Thank you

  • I think previous referral links(in OzBargain system) do not work any more. And ING Direct put forward its own code to brush off more $75 payouts. It sucks!

    • This link in the email has a blank space to enter the code, <code>, however it doesn't let you enter anything by the looks?

I'm not exactly sure where someone can enter a code now.

      • This page lets you enter the referrer's code

        • where abouts on this page i cant find the section to enter the code

      • The code was automatically filled before.

Now new customers need to manually enter a code,in which case that they will be more like to enter ING's own code.

    • +1

I received an email from ING today offering the exact same thing as in this post except it came with my usual unique referral code

What OzBargain need to do is turn off the direct forward to ING's website that occurs when you click the random referral link. They will definitely be tracking that and not paying the sign ups that come from that. That said, perhaps OzBargain are already doing something to nullify the referer url being passed to ING but at a glance it appears to me to go directly there.

  • +17

    Automatically included is code GOODBYE2%

  • -2

Why did the system change and we now have to put referrals in a random generator. I preferred it when we were able to post them up or leave them open and offer bonuses etc. Anyway, not much point for people to sign up with ING now. They are going to lose customers now that 2% cashback is gone.

  • +4

Wait, I GET A FREE ATM!?!
That is freaking awesome. Can I set my own ATM fee? I need to find somewhere good to place it. How do I get the cash to stock it or does ING take care of that?
Man, this is the best deal on Ozbargain ever.

    • ATMs

      Plural.

      • +1

Damn, that's even better. How many do I get? Where am I going to put them all? Do they come pre-stocked with cash?
I wish I could give this deal more + votes.

        • Can sense that sarcasm…

    • Hey - they took away the free ATMs…???
What the hell. I'm definitely not signing up with them now.

  • Sorry is this only for new customers?

    • +3

If you have previously held an Orange Everyday bank account since 1 July 2014, then you are ineligible for this offer.

      • +3

        Chivalry Loyalty is dead.

      • Thanks

  • +1

I have always wanted an ATM, thanks OP

  • +1

I was hoping ING could have reduce the cashback to 1% or even 0.5%.

Primary reason is I shop at Aldi, and they charge 0.5% fee and its just so much more convenient tapping a card , then fumbling loose change while carrying my box of groceries. Guess now, I'll be fumbling loose change to avoid 0.5% surcharge.

Also, if ING kept it at 1% , I would have recommended to friend as there's some benefit still. The free ATM is really only saving me walking 200m to the nearest CBA ATM at best.

    • +1

Just insert the card and use the saving option. No surcharge for that.

      • -2

As far as I'm concerned ALDI charge the 0.5% fee on all EFTPOS transactions.

        • +1

          They don't, only paypass.

0.5% on EFTPOS would be robbery because its a small flat fee to use EFTPOS.

          Paypass is an Mastercard/Visa thing.

        • +1

No they dont, they only charge the surcharge for credit and visa transaction which paypass is classified as.

        • @samfisher5986: Good to know.

    • +3

So you are rewarding CBA for doing nothing and punishing ING who had helped you?

Stop and think for a second. Is CBA doing better for you?

      No stop. and Think.

Now, whilst you are there, think of where that $2 ATM fee goes to and who is paying for it.

      Is ING the bad guy?

  • I'm receiving a 'The document information you provided was incorrect.' when trying to provide identification proof.

    • Me too. I think i have to fill it out and get it checked at the post office. Happened last time with 2 days to go before the dael expired and i CBF

  • gg

  • Question. If I don't put any money into the account for the month, do they charge any fees?

I plan to just put $1000 into it one month, look for the $75 bonus and then transfer my money back to my other bank. Possible? How long will it take to be in there? Should I hold off until October to put the 1k in? or JUst do it in August and the bonus will be there at the end of that month?

    • Don't transfer back your first $1000 till you get $75 (It took 2-3 weeks for my referred friends). Then withdraw and dont worry about fees, this account is fee-free.
      Happy referring ;)

      • +1

2 to 3 weeks after the one month or 2-3 weeks after your 1k transfer?

        • +1

          after first 1k transfer

        • Nah you can take your $1000 out straight away once it's in the ING account.

      • do you have to maintain a min of $1000 to get the bonus from your friend referrals? I just got my $75 bonus and just wondering when my friends use my referral code, should i still have a min of $1000 in my account to get more $75s.

        Appreciate your input here!

  • Can you get this bonus if it has been 12 months since u last closed all your ING accounts?

    • -2

You think ING will give you a yearly $75 christmas present?

  • i wouldnt risk loosing a friend recommending ing now

    • friend: why should I join ING?
me: you get to use atms… and get 50c when withdrawing $200+!

      friend: mmmmm….
Me: it will only cost $1000 with no interest paid!

      friend: $1000? per month??
      Me: yes….so?

      ….

      • You can just setup some scheduled transactions to minimise time without interest?
Transfer $1k in and then schedule it to go back out a day or two later. If it's an ongoing $1k required then just have that scheduled in and out every month.

  • +1

Interest rate for SM account drops to 2.75%

  • +1

if i have previously had an account with ING can i still take advantage of this offer?

  • +1

They have dropped the savings rate to 2.75%. The only benefit now is free ATM's. If you want the $75 it is fine but I am going to look at other options for my daily banking now.

    • Is there anywhere else with a higher savings rate? Apart from Rabo but that's only 3.25% for the first 4 months

      • +1

rams is 3.15% and you can open two accounts and transfer between them on the first of every month to add $200 in every month. ie not adding any money in

        • Thanks man I'll check it out. Seems cool just need to read the terms more closely.

      • ME Bank

    • keep us posted. I'm also looking at leaving INGdirect very shortly.
All of the things that lured me in has now disappeared.

  • +1

They finally made referrals much easier, Had to sit down with my friend and explain why I had to register twice one for 75 and one for orange everyday. lolz.

  • How can i refer others to ING? I haven't got any link to refer friends in Internet banking?

    • if your an ING customer you should check your inbox from ING Direct. Thats were i found mine.

  • Sorry if it's a dumb question, but does the $1k have to stay there? Or just deposited and then can be transferred elsewhere? I was thinking about using this deal for my everyday account (pay deposits, spending etc) and my CDIA account for my Commsec purchases.

    • +1

You can deposit and then transfer elsewhere. I transfer 1k in and out every month between accounts, just to keep the bonuses.

  • Umm at the bottom of the page they say they need a check with "credit reporting agency". Is this a CREDIT CHECK? Will I get a hit on my credit file?

    • Curious about this also.

  • If I apply for the card today and receive it in Sept, Can I still get the 1000? As I can't transfer any money in August

  • Has anyone received the $75 bonus? It's been 2.5 weeks since i deposit $1000+ and haven't got the bonus $75 yet

    • Have not had a single person use my link successfully in all the months it has been up here

      • did you mean none of them has got the bonus even after having a deposit of $1000+?

        • I had one click on my link apparently according to the counter on OzB. But never got any bonus. So someone must not have signed up and deposited $1000 using it..

  • oops

  • The small print says the bonus will be credited a month later. I just Facebook messaged ING to ask if the 10,000 allocation has already been exhausted & got a reply yesterday saying 'Hi Jenny,

Not that I am aware of, you can still register, and have until the 31st of October 2016 to meet the criteria to be eligible.

    Thanks
    ^Hayley'

'Not that I am aware of' isn't very reassuring, but hopefully the allocation isn't exhausted yet

  • So if the sign up happened in august does the transfer of $1000 need to have happened within august or within around 30 days..?

  • how about previous account holder that has closed his/her account long time ago, still eligible to $75 if re apply?

  • Does the personalised referral code still work or must all new customers use the WELCOME code?

  • The email I got from ING yesterday was for a $100 referral bonus where as previous emails were $75. Not sure if anyone else is seeing this too? Also, why publish a generic referral code? Get rid of it so we all have a chance to make some coin.

    • There's another ING Direct topic/forum chat where it seems ING have targeted customers with different promotions, some are 75, some 100, some 25, some 50.

    • Yes, I got a $100 referral code too.

  • +1

So Blanchy98 signs up to OZBargain just to try to post his ING referral Code. HOW PRESUMPTUOUS!!! Put your code into the random referrals along with the rest of us. You Drongo!!

  • My mum has an account with ing, if I use her referral code will both me and her get the bonus or is it invalid because we are related?

  • No bonus $75 after 2week wait on refer code?? How long usually u wait?

  • +1

Got an email today they just boosted bonus to $200($100 for referrer and 100 for new customer)

    Link for details: www.ingdirect.com.au/sweet100

    But with added requirements:

1: Open Orange everyday, enter a referral code

2: Deposit 1000 to the account by 30th June 2017

3: Use card at least 5 times before 30th June 2017

Then wait for your hard earned money to kick in

Everyone in my family has ING direct account crew

    • Got similar email.

      In the T&C's:

"If you use this offer in a manner that is not satisfactory to us or in line with the intent of the offer (such as sharing your referral code on the 'OzBargain' website or other similar websites, or advertising or marketing your referral code), we may refuse to pay the cash bonus (including in respect of any or all referrals made in relation to the offer). This includes conduct on your part which is designed to undermine the fair and intended operation of the offer. "

    • What is the promo code for the $100?

  • Just got a new referral deal from ING and ozbargain gets a shout-out in the T&C's:

"If you use this offer in a manner that is not satisfactory to us or in line with the intent of the offer (such as sharing your referral code on the 'OzBargain' website or other similar websites, or advertising or marketing your referral code), we may refuse to pay the cash bonus (including in respect of any or all referrals made in relation to the offer). This includes conduct on your part which is designed to undermine the fair and intended operation of the offer."

  • I forgot to enter the bonus75 code while signing up, but I gave ING a call the the operator was more than happy to help.

  • Is this onlt valid for australian residents? I am here on a student visa

    • Don't think you have to be a resident to hold an account with them, just get the required number of ID points.
