Woolworths Everyday Platinum Credit Card 0% BT for 14 Months + $50 Woolworths eGift Card ($0 Annual Fee First Year, $49 after)

200

Hi All,

Woolies 'Everyday Platinum Credit Card' is currently offering:
-$0 first year fee ($49 there-after)
-0% for 14 months on Balance transfers (with no BT Fee)
-Free $50 woolies gift card (after any eligible purchase)

I've been looking for a no fee BT card and this seems a good deal (assuming you only make 1 small purchase to get the $50, transfer a large amount and then close before 12 months is up. Although with the free gift card, the second year could be classed as technically free as well.

Have checked the conditions and the first payment you make goes onto the 'purchase component first' meaning you won't incur any sneaky interest. (I think this is actually government legislation now).

So go and buy a chocolate bar for $1 and get $50 back + save on the interest of your balance transfer.

Happy days.

I got one of these earlier in the year - they were offering $100 in Woolies cash back then. Maybe hold out and they'll do it again.

  • Are you able to specify your desired credit limit for the purposes of BT?

    • In the T&C's it says

We will transfer the balances specified by you to your Account, in full or in part, subject to $500 remaining in your available credit limit. If you have multiple BT requests, we will transfer these in the order they appear in your request.

When you do it online, it only gives you the option to transfer two cards. May be able to do more if you call up?

Also I just called up to check if there was anyone they won't transfer between. They will transfer from any credit card (except Macquarie who is the backer of this card).

  • I'm waiting until they have a deal for Qantas points.

  • There is a card that comes with Qantas Points bonus, but I don't think it's anything special.

Yeah you're right. At a measly 10k Qantas points for $99 annual fee it's not worth getting out of bed for.

anyone who has applied for this card, can you tell me to they ask to varify your income ie payslips or tax returns?

    • I got requested to verify income, by attaching payslip

      • Yeah me too and I did a BT

        • Though I didn't get any updates today so no idea how long their processing time is

        • @SBOB:
got a sms and email today re approval, but no detail on credit limit.

Hopefully its approved to cover the balance transfer otherwise its going to get cancelled instantly

        • @SBOB:

          Got approved today :)

        • @DaTa:

got approved for a pretty average credit limit which was about 1/3 of what I was planning on balance transferring… So called and cancelled the card without even activating.

Pretty pointless to approve a card for less than $x when someone puts in for a balance transfer as part of an application

        • @SBOB:
Got mine done today should go down woolies tonight or tomorrow and get something to get me started.

  • 19.99% interest if balance is not paid in full within the 14 months.

  • Anyone knows if banks generally allow you to do a balance transfer to a debit card?

I got my last balance transfer into a Suncorp Clear View card which I had laying around, just to find you that they charge you cash advance fee 3.5% for withdrawals and transfers, even if your account is in credit. This makes it impossible to get your own money back without paying a lot of fees.

    • Purchase items with it :)

Citibank send BTs as a cheque-to-self, I think.

      • Yes CitiBank allows an option of BT via cheque which is great!

  • I can confirm they are happy to take transfers from other people's names. Ie BT onto wife's card from husbands cards.
