  • That's cheaper than a Flymo push reel mower. I wonder what the quality of this is like….

I've been using one of these. Bought it at Bunnings about two years ago. Can't remember what I paid, think it was slightly less. I'm quite happy with it.

It isn't a suuuuper powerful lawnmower but does the job pretty well. The fabric catcher isn't much chop (clogs up the mower at half full). But it cuts the grass on our backyard with aplomb. No cords or batteries to worry about. Just a single cylinder petrol engine with a carbie and a spark plug.

    Recommended.

    *don't forget the engine oil!

    • I'd rather "worry" about a battery than worry about fuel, oil, filters, spark plugs…

And how long do those batteries last for exactly on full power usage?. No where near than a tank of fuel. Thing thing probably wouldn't even do one yard before running out of battery power (unless you have a small yard).

And you don't have to change the oil in one of these mowers very often, maybe once a year or so depending on how often it's used. And it's not really hard to change a spark plug.

Yeah I'd take a petrol engine for lawn mowing duties over electric. I've never changed the oil, filter or plug. Just refil the petrol every so often.

I don't have to worry about batteries degrading or whether they are charged before I start. Just pull the cord and go.

        • Wrong. You are truly clueless about battery lawn mowers.

Definitely petrol over battery for lawnmower(As at 08/2016). However some petrol mowers are really crap, always try before you buy.

        • To be honest, battery mowers work fine. Some people just prefere everything that goes with petrol.

      • wife's toys are taken care of then ;-)

      • Maintenance free mower. Just buy a new one when the engines ceases and start again.

    • I have the same one and probably bought it at the same time as you. I think it may even have been posted on here at the time.

It works perfectly fine for my small yard (50 or so m^2) and I have never changed the oil, filter, spark plug, whatever.
      I don't use the bag.
