  • Yeah check out the feedback (all 8 of them), like almost half of them canceled their order? It seems weird. I guess if you don't get it then Paypal will refund so won't be out of pocket, it all just seems a bit fishy. EDIT: well it's out of stock now, all 3 have been sold! lol. Good luck to those who have paid, I hope you get what you paid for

    • Different chargers

      • Same model numbers on both auctions: K-KJ16MCC4TA. Is there a difference between the Smart & Quick and Basic or are they just superseded model names?

        • Yeah there's a difference. That listing is wrong. They're two different chargers with two different prices

          @addison8019:

Ah sorry, GBD has K-KJ18MCC4TA which is closer to the former. I wonder if there is an actual tested performance difference between the 2. Looks like one is auto-timer off and the other is some kind of smart detection.

        • @neil: I've seen people talking about the two in these forums, apparently the smart charger is much better. I'm not sure I've never looked into it. I can buy a pack of 24 AA batteries for $6 from Masters, I always wonder how long it would take for these rechargeable batteries to start paying their way? So I could have 144 batteries for $36, by then these rechargeables would be wearing out.

@addison8019: each battery according to the site is rated for 2100 charges apparently, so while there's drop off 144 rounds wouldn't be even 10%, and that's only comparing to a single battery.

Anyhow, one of the main advantages is the low discharge more so than the charge cycles.

    • or this

      • Lol I tried to find info on the bq-cc51 charger in that listing, I couldn't find anything from the Panasonic site.

        • That's because the charger in that listing is the BQ-CC18? :-P

It's just a simple dumb timer charger, so very much should be avoided!

        • @Porthos: Zoom in on the second picture. You can also see it in the first

        • +1

@addison8019: Ah true, didn't even look at that. I was looking near the bottom of the listing where it lists the charger specs.

Wonder which charger it actually is then?

        • @Porthos: I found one website that said the bq-cc51 is a bq-cc18 just renamed. I'm just very wary of fakes, especially buying off ebay lol

  • Is this better than the Nitecore D4 charger?

    • +1

Seems like a reasonable charger for Eneloops. If that's all you need, it's great.

The D4 is more flexible with support for different sizes/types of cells and is (IMO) a better overall charger.

    • Nitecore D4 is better. Types of charger in order from worst to best:

      • dumb chargers
      • smart chargers with a single LED for charging status
      • smart chargers with one LED per battery
      • smart chargers with an LCD display that tells you the battery capacity

The Nitecore D4 is the fourth (best) type, The Panasonic smart charger is the third type.

Further distinctions can be made, like whether the charger can charge lithium-ion batteries and similar, but then the table becomes too complex.

      • Thanks @Buzzard and @Russ. I wanted to know because I recently bought the Nitecore D4 from the AliBaba deal :)

DSE has sold out on eBAY

  • Sold out, after selling only 3.

Damn, sorry everyone. I had no idea stock was so low. Thought that was my big chance at making the front page too!

For anyone still looking, Kogan eBay has the same charger available at the original $43.73, no 20% discount, & free shipping here: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/172212288579

  • Just go to IKEA & get the LADDA 2hr smart charger there for $15. Job done.

  • missed it

  • I am just going to stop looking at "Panasonic Eneloop from Kogan/Dicksmitk" as i never got a deal that had stock in. I feel like it is intentional and now i'll just write it off my list.
