Do you need more performance? Try the 6th Generation Intel Core i3 model!

While the Inspiron 11 3000 is out of stock, the Dell Outlet currently is selling refurbs for $499, but with a Skylake Core i3 i3-6100U (2.3ghz) processor which gives you much more performance, but of course the downside is that it's 180 dollars more and the battery life is considerably shorter as the CPU requires more power.

Got cold feet and canceled my order, super fast fuss free refund from dell, real nice to see.

I contacted them to see if they could change the colour after more came into stock, they've responded that they've done it which is great so hopefully I get the white one rather than the blue one (though to be honest I'm not too fussed now after watching a few reviews online).

ETA for Delivery is Aug 31-September 7. Wonder what the chances are of getting it any earlier?

    • Unlikely……. these things aren't just off-the-shelf laptops, they go through the entire Dell build process overseas. You can track the whole process through the Dell site until it gets sent to the local carrier. Once it gets to that point you basically have to punch your tracking number into the usual shipping mobs till you find the one that yours is going through (they seem to use a combination of shipping companies, mine recently came through Toll I think)

      • How do you track on the Dell Site? Do we get a reference number or something?

        • +1

Yeah you'll be sent all the details

    • Anyone with experience with Dell delivery times?

      • Ah, on the listing it says that the ebay listing will be updated with a Dell Reference number and from that point you can track it on the Dell Website, as though you purchased it from them directly. Apparently it takes 1-2 days for this to happen, so if you ordered on Tuesday or yesterday it makes sense if this hasn't happened yet.

      • Mine took about 2 weeks to arrive (from previous ebay deal)

  • Hi, Does it have touch screen

    • No

  • Thank you, I got one for the misses. She does not want to lug around my laptop anymore.

  • Currently out of stock again for now, might come back.

Wow 6435 clicks and 300 sold. The power of OzB.

  • Anyone find a good laptop bag / pouch for this laptop? Want something to put the laptop in, the power cord / box, as well as a usb key and wireless mouse.

Got my order acknowledgment email from Dell on Friday. For some reason when I log into the Dell Order Status it say they're awaiting payment (even though I've paid via Paypal). I do recall reading in another Ozbargain thread that this is apparently normal. Quite looking forward to this now, I've got a spare 250GB Samsung SSD I'm going to wack into it for a bit of extra storage.

Please let us know how it goes, might wait for the warranty to expire to changr the drive tho

      • +1

Swapping the drive does not void the warranty.
Upgrading the RAM does not void the warranty.

this is coming from somebody whose job used to be repairing hundreds of Dell notebooks for a large organisation.

Read the service manual I linked to in the deal description (Scroll all the way up). It's easy for the average layman to do.

That's because you are looking it up using the customer ID from the order acknowledgment email.

You need to track using the order number which gets added to your eBay account.

      • It's all fine now, mine has reached "Shipped from Factory". So it's on it's way, hurray :)

  • Is it possible to remove windows and install chromeOS?

    • You can install ChromeOS on almost every computer.

But you're on your own. There is no tech support. If you are lucky, it will work without you needing to fiddle with drivers. Good luck.

Got mine this morning and quite surprised at this laptop for its price. Pretty much perfect for my usage which was to consume media via hdmi to TV and streaming music from Spotify in bedroom. But the best feature for me is that it makes absolutely no noise to speak of~ Dont even think it has a fan inside.

Little update: RAM is definitely in a socket so presumably you can upgrade to 8GB if you want. Taking the base off is a bit fiddly as even with screws it's all clips so you need to be a bit gentle and take your time. If in doubt read the service manual in the OP. Your mileage may vary, but the included hardware is probably fine for 99% of people. Definitely an awesome machine for the price.

Got my little white one a few days ago and I love it so far. It's perfect for uni. Thanks again, OP!

Got mine this week and started to play around a bit. Have noticed that in chrome the scrolling funny, and annoying. Goes up when you are scrolling down for a bit and then starts going down. Does any one else have the same problem

    • This is a common problem with a lot of computers, often slow internet or cpu trying to catch up. Would certainly not be limited to this model specifically from my experience.

How bad is the problem your referring to here in seconds/space? Only in Chrome, or Edge and Firefox Too???

      • +1

It's alright on iexplorer but really funny on chrome. I haven't experience anything like that on my Macbook pro. Like you are scrolling down and it scrolls up for a second and then starts scrolling down.

        • OK, so same internet connection, but comparing this to a Macbook pro is a little unfair.

All the same, this config on the Dell should not lag or stutter much when scrolling on Chrome with a decent internet connection.

          Maybe something faulty there.

Anyone else with this problem here?

  • It's telling me that the code's expired.

  • To anyone who bought one of these….how are you finding it? About to buy one, then saw loads of reviews on Dell website complaining of very slow speeds. Perhaps the celedon versions?? Appreciate any feedback. Cheers

    • They are probably reviewing the lowest end versions, with the Celeron Processor and EMMC memory.
