Wish it was the cellular verison :( but a good price nonetheless.

    • +1

Wish it was the 12" version!

  • FARKKKKKKKK. NICE DEAL. But don't dream about OW price beating. No stock anywhere.

  • +2

    Officeworks price match $854.05

Would be nice if stores actually had stock

    • It's showing Click & Collect:
      http://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/ipad-pro-9-…

Do they offer the price beat this way, or just stock in store?

      • +3

You can pricebeat over the phone.

        • you can by phone.

          Edit: wow 39 minutes late

    • +4

Confirm OW price matched over the phone with free next day delivery.

      • Did you receive the iPad?

        • Yes I received it the next day as promised

        • @shump: Wow! Great. Enjoy.

  • +3

NO GPS, NO Pokemon Go, NO deal.
That was what Pokemon fanboys said.

    • +1

Just personal hotspot from your mobile, that's what I do when my daughter plays on her wifi only iPad.

      • If it has no GPS then it won't work

  • Strange promotion. I wouldn't be surprised if that was an error of some sort, but it's a big + from me!

  • People who have the $50 from TGG newsletter deal can get this for $849?

    • +3

In theory you should be able to, but this deal may be expired by that time. I believe they send out the $25 after the 2nd newsletter and the other $25 after the 5th one? Still waiting on the 2nd newsletter to be issued, unless I have missed something here.

      • Yeah, will be long gone before vouchers are sent. No one has $25 one let alone both.

      • only tablet I'll use is a windows one.

        • -2

lol, I feel sorry for you.

      • -4

No offense mate, but I'll take Windows over a Crapple Mac anyday.

        Windows FTW!

        • -1

Lol you obviously work in the IT industry and rely on Windows operating system being so poor.

        • @Bratam:

Lol, just because I prefer Windows, suddenly I work in the IT Industry? Nice.

It's ok if you wanna follow the rest of the sheep with Crapple ;)

        • @montorola: Mate I use to use Windows laptops for years and they were constant problems and always had inconsistent performance. Sometimes they would drive me crazy. Then I discovered Apple (after admittedly disliking the Apple fan boys for a long time) and now I have to admit that Apple just do things so much better than Microsoft. The user experience is just so much better. Not a bit better, a whole lot better. In saying that I am very happy with my Android phone (Android was crap, but mch better now) and I won't buy an overpriced iPhone. But when it comes to IPads and Macs, Apple just do it so much better than Microsoft. It is a sheer delight to use iPads and Macs. That's the truth, no Apple fanboi here.

        • @Bratam:

Not trying to start a fight or anything mate, I did try apple macbook to copy something from a Usb to desktop and couldn't do it. It required some combination of the double finger stroke and tap etc to do it.

It's more intuitive to me to simply right click and paste in Windows lol

        • @Bratam:
          +1

    • +2

I use my iPad 90% of the time now and only use my Macbook Pro when I need to do something the iPad can't handle.

    • +1

      Lol nice one bro.

    • +3

No. You'd know that if you left the house more often.

  • OW just changed the price to $899 as i am on the phone with them……..

    • +2

Don't put up with that rubbish - it's still $1049 on their website

      • I wonder how many TGG has, considering all the other colours are "Bargain Buy" $1,047.

    • Haha awesome save from OW

        • Yeah, I checked few times too. Maybe they marked $899 to their system but it did not update to web yet?

I know OW tries to get out of price beats, I have had hard time with them trying to beat the price.

Was thinking of going to my nearest OW but then I was thinking if i really need a tablet and luckily sanity won :)

  • Warning this only has 2GB ram like iPad Air 2 so might not be worth upgrade

    • +13

It's not Android that has poor memory management compared to iOS. You'll be fine with RAM on this one.

    • hey just check again its 4GB RAM in iPad pro model not 2

      • +1

        its 2GB
        http://www.gsmarena.com/apple_ipad_pro_9_7-7984.php

Also I have an Ipad Air 2 and 2gb does cause reloading of webpages and lots of other apps
I agree android has poor memory management but this doesn't change the fact my Air 2 and 6 plus need more

      • +2

The bigger Pro (12.1") has 4GB, this one has 2GB. Confusing!

I find iOS is pretty good about choosing what to throw out of memory, 2GB means things won't feel sluggish, but you're likely to find that if you have a lot of tabs open old ones will reload when you switch to them. Also if you open a big game it will boot every other app out of memory.

One of the positive sides of less ram is better battery life. If you have 4GB of ram, it all has to be powered on (or you loose data), it may not seem like a big deal (2GB of ram compared with the GIANT RETINA BACKLIT SCREEN) but it does add up a bit.

        • +3

It's an insignificant amount compared to screen energy use.

        • RAM takes practically no energy to just retain data

Great post to pop your cherry chaserjs!

  • I placed an order on the phone with OW…and not it says my order is "under review" in an email…what's that supposed to mean?

    • Yeah mine is under "random" security review too. Maybe gives them an excuse not to honour the price match?

      A small explanation here:

Hi Chris, in order to prevent unauthorised use of your credit card, we have implemented a standard validation of online credit card transactions. The validity of any order matching certain criteria is confirmed with the credit institution prior to the order being dispatched to the listed delivery address. The specific criteria used to identify high risk orders is regularly reviewed, and evolves as the tactics used by credit card fraudsters evolve. Unfortunately, some credit institutions are slower in responding to queries than others – which results in a delay. We apologise for this postponement, and appreciate your understanding that we are committed to protecting your credit card from fraudulent usage.

For reference here is the text of the email:

For your protection we are reviewing order #

From time to time Officeworks checks individual transactions to ensure that no purchases are made without the authorisation of the card holder. We have randomly selected your transaction for a routine review.

      What happens next?
This review may take up to 24 business hours and once complete, we will send you an order and delivery confirmation email.

If your order was to be delivered to your door, it will be dispatched from our warehouse; if it was a click & collect order, we will text you when it is ready for collection; and if it was a software download you will receive an email with a link to the download.

If you have any questions regarding this email or your order, simply call us on 1300 OFFICE (633 423) Monday - Friday from 8am to 8pm or Saturday - Sunday from 9am to 5pm, referencing your Order Number.

      Thank you for your understanding.

      Happy and safe shopping from
      The Officeworks Team

      • My order has been released now

        • Mine too

Just waiting on CnC confirmation now

  • +5

Just pricematched with officeworks. They were trying to wiggle out of it by saying gg website showed no stock for in store. I then did a postage order to show them it was all above board. They then pricematched it with the $8 postage fee. So my final price was $861.65. Planning on claiming the TRS for it too. Thanks OP.

  • +1

Great price - wish they did a deal on the 12.9"!

    • +1

9 inches not enough for you?

  • Very tempting, but why isn't the space grey one on sale? Really want a black one :(

  • -3

ipad pro 9.7 is a waste of space

  • Optus has the iPad Pro 9.7" cellular for $50 a month which equals $1200 total on their 24 month contract.
Pretty good deal considering they retail for $1099. And you get 2.5GB each month.

    • 128gb?

      • Oh nah 32GB. Not sure on their 128GB price

        • $61pm for the 128gb

  • +1

just price matched mine with Office works, went through, thanks!

  • Now its on the catalogue page 12

  • Are you guys getting prices matches with only gold or silver etc..

    • +1

Officeworks wouldnt have a bar of price matching another colour only the gold as I think they had already had a person call and try to get another colour. So gold it is for me!

      • Interesting. As they could only offer me space gray

  • How much battery life for watching movies, browsing the net?

    • 10 hours + battery life which is a hell of a lot more than your average Windows tablet such as Surface Pro 4.

  • +1

Hmm trying to decide whether to bite and upgrade from my 16Gb iPad 4…though I know the number 1 OzBargain rule is to buy first and justify later!

  • If OW officially price matches it and updates the price on their web site, I can get it for $811 with staff card. I don't really need one though. And I'm hoping they don't, because I don't want to be tempted.. so that will be the decider for me. If OW PMs it officially, I'll shell out for it. :(

Even though this is a good deal compared to what it normally sells for, I still don't consider it or any iPad good value for money.

    • +2

Congrats. You will be $811 poorer soon.

      • :(

  • cheaper here…. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/APPLE-IPAD-PRO-9-7-128GB-GOLD-UNL… indication of price drop soon or they built too many gold model?

    • but it said "APPLE IPAD PRO 9.7" with Retina Display 128GB GOLD WI-FI (Australia Replacement)"<——REPLACEMENT?!

    • Condition:

    • it also says unlocked?

  • JB hifi matching this price $854.05 ?

    • Is it over the phone or in-store? Can I get a copy of the receipt?

    • +1

is JB hifi matching this price $854.05 ?

      • Called up before, they wouldn't match $899. This is in Melbourne CBD - probably expected.

OW also said they dropped the price BUT none in stock, and will not get anymore stock till end of next week (or so they told me).

  • +4

Price jst got updated to $899 at officeworks!

  • Selfishly, glad this is wifi only as just bought cellular version for a lot more.

  • TGG just up the price to $1047 when added to cart

  • Looks like the deal has expired.

  • Deal has ended, OW has them for 899, but they said they don't have any stock till later next week. Not sure if someone can just call up and place a pre-order.

  • Catalogue says sale period is until 5th September!

  • The catalogue that advertises this price runs through till 5 sep. If the online price doesn't match you can try ordering in store?

  • Almost gone in brisbane area. The OW staff said it might take 4-5 weeks to restock according to experience with Apple.

    • Price for the Gold iPad Pro 9'7 128gb just went up to $1,148. No more deals! :(

  • APOLOGY Father’s Day Catalogue, the Apple 9.7-inch iPad Pro Wi-Fi 128GB - Gold (Model Number: MLMX2X/A) has been incorrectly advertised at $899. The correct price is $1149 The Good Guys would like to apologise to our valued customers for any inconvenience this may have caused.

was about to buy but saw this!! Will OW still match price?

    • Sounds right, but I don't know how they make a mistake of this magnitude. No one checks this stuff?

    • +1

Highly doubt that, OW adjusted the price the other night to match the price of $899, but with no stock available to purchase. Since then TGG realised the problem and adjusted the price on site with apology, OW has put the price back to $1,049.

Worst comes to worst, people going into the TGG store with the catalogue wanting to buy the item can get turned away by saying ran out of stock, etc.

Also just noticed the original advertisement had the product code of MLMX2X/A, the site product code has now been updated to MM192X/A, with the original link being invalid, TGG may very well say to the customers that the product has sold out and this is not the same as what was advertised… :(

      https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/apple--97-inch-ipad-pro-wi-fi…

I guess if you see a nice sales, they might be able to help? :\ Good luck either way!

  • OW have put my order on backorder because there's no stock. I've told them categorically on the phone and through FB that I am in no hurry, and they can ship it for click and collect whenever they get stock. It was a legit price match when I ordered, and it showed as in stock when I ordered on the phone so I'm OK to wait it out for delivery.

  • +1

Well done to those that got in early and grabbed one!

I hesitated because of the Gold colour, but at that price probably could have just made do :p

    • same here

  • OW told me they'll be getting stock sometime mid-sep for my order
