Ikea Eat Your Discount Promotion WA&SA Only

320

The Ikea Eat Your Discount promotion is on again, except for the first time its applicable to people of WA and SA only.

I think previous OzBargain threads have said that WA and SA Ikea stores have been omitted from previous Eat your discount promotions because the WA and SA stores are owned by a different mob to the Eastern States stores.

There are some terms and conditions you need to read but basically it works like this.
Buy and consume anything in the Ikea restaurant. Keep receipt. Get the dollar amount you consumed taken off at the registers.

man why isnt this in nsw?

just spotted that their meatballs are 3.95 on tuesdays, normally 6.95 - just go down with 9 mates and thats a feed for 10 and a $40 shelf unit for nothing.

or if you're in the mood for 'fine' dining lol, you and 9 mates can have the 9.95 salmon and the $95 billy bookcase is thrown in for free.. woohoo..

yeah i know what other ozbargainers have said in the past about ikea food, but why let a few days of loose motions come in between you and some free furniture?

I concur. See you there next week.

I will wear a red bow-tie and be holding a daisy.

You should wear a large hat.

  • Can anyone please comment on the food, value and decor at the restaurant?

Do you have to bake your own bread and cook your own meal? Do they make you sit on plastic chairs?

  • Has happened in SA before POWERevolution. Bought a salad spinner at half price last time. Was wondering when this would be back. Thanks for the heads up John Stone.

citybargainhunter - no you don't have to bake your own bread or anything. Its a cafeteria setup. Chairs are a combination of plastic and wooden. Food is ok. My fav is quiche + salad cuz its basically as much salad u can toss and balance on your plate. You pay for dressing though.

The food is OK. There is a very small range, their signature dish is the Swedish meatballs, which comes with loganberry sauce and gravy of some sort, pretty nice stuff; you can have it with chips or salad (salad bar is help yourself). 10 meatballs is $8 or so, 15 is $10 or something. There is also a "vol au vent" which is a big pie with light puff pastry and inside is mushroom, chicken and a creamy sauce, it's pretty nice too. $8 with chips or salad. Bottomless soft drink is $1.50. They also have quiche, nuggets for kids (kids' meals are $4 I think). They have some pretty nice desserts too, but they are all pretty expensive (relatively). I eat there once every few weeks as it's not too bad food and good on the wallet too. This deal just makes it so much better.

p.s. I was there today and bought a few little things with my receipt…on the way out of the cafe while I was putting away my food tray (you have to put them away yourself), I looked through the other trays to see if anyone had left their receipt behind hehe…am I bad? lol or would other ozbargainers do the same? ;)

  • This is a Brilliant sale.
Yesterday I bought 20 meatballs for $9.95 and picked up laptop bed stand for free at the checkout.
Ill be there tonight to buy some kitchen cabinets. Ive invited a few friends to eat as much as they like for free and help me put everything in the car.

Quality of food is brilliant and prices are rock bottom except the desserts. Theyre a bit expensive but not tonight :)
