  • No deal here!!!

(charged per GB, rounded up to the nearest GB) - Gee, and to think other telcos get given a hard time charging in MB blocks!

Me thinks this is a better deal -> https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/259881?page=4#comment-3967…

    • yikes

    • Your quote is misleading. If you actually read/quoted the whole thing, you'd see that just above it says:

Included Data charged per KB or part thereof

The GB blocks thing you mention is the rate for excess data. $10/GB is fairly standard for excess on Vodafone and Optus, maybe Telstra too. If you use a lot, it's also much cheaper than when MVNOs do things like "4c per MB" like Jeenee (and TPG on their other plans).

Remember that when we talk about excess usage rounding, that's total excess over that month. When we talk about included data usage rounding, that's per "session", where a new session is created every time your phone reconnects (can be many times a day, especially if you move around or have spotty reception). Too much rounding per session is an issue because it charges you a lot (MB, etc.) when you only use a little (kB, etc.). Rounding over the month for excess usage isn't necessarily bad, and can't be compared to rounding included data usage - they're completely different things.

AFAIK there does not exist any provider with finer granularity than per-MB for excess data usage.

I take it you are not familiar with humour…

Yeah agree with everyone not a deal from where I look at it too

  • In hindsight…. this is a VERY good plan for all those OzBargainers who buy the Chinese Androids without Band28/700Mhz for the below reasons:

    1) Vodafone has the widest 4G reach and through only 2 spectrums: 850Mhz/1800Mhz

    • you choose a compromised plan just for a compromised phone?

      • +2

        1) how is the plan compromised?
        2) how are those phones compromised? because no B28 despite all the other specs?

sales and votes on some of those redmi phones on ozbargain far exceed expectations.. including the OnePlus series.. even the 3

The telechoice deal thats actually live on the first page of OB is more "compromised" than this since its not on the full Telstra network

Maybe $20 deposit like before ?

    No interesting

Beware. There is a $11 port out fee

  • can you recieve FREE vodaphone to vodaphone calls on TPG? My mum seems to be more worried about her friend getting free calls than what she pays

  • +2

Used to use TPG 1.5GB at $18 per month. Then it raised to $22. Now I'm using Optus $40 per month 10GB.

    • -1

TPG is cheaper at $39.99 per month for 10GB.

First month free if you change back to TPG.

doesnt matter now still in contract

when i was switching tpg was like restricted by telstra to stop plans with big data quota

so now they can do that with infra provided by vodafone
