Is the 6s being removed from production?

      28 degrees 6 month price protection…

      • No 6s will stick around as the mid end product. 6 is disappearing.

      • Careful, i think 64gb is no longer produced

      • Price protection also with go mastercard up to $500 i think

      • +2

        aldoduco is correct.

        • 16GB is no longer produced and is being replaced by 32GB
        • 64GB is no longer produced and is being replaced by 128GB

Coles MasterCard have 24 months price protection.

        • hi
i got a coles mastercard with 24 months price protection can you plz explain how it work. their help service is not helping

        • @darbin: I found this to be super helpful in explaining everything.

Basically if the same item you purchase drops in price at the same store within 24 months after purchasing it you can claim the difference. The catch is, you can only claim the difference once, so it's best to stretch it out as close to the 24 months as you can to get the best refund.

The merchandise protection is definitely one of the best parts of the added account cover. For example, if you break your screen, drop your phone in water, had it stolen etc within 6 months of purchase they'll pay up to $1000 to fix or replace it.

First hand, I've cracked my iPhone and they paid for me to get it fixed at the Apple Store with no hassle. A seriously great card.
Also, if you pay your balance before the statement is issued you still get the protection and you don't have to pay the 1%.

        • @stickyfingers: thanks a lot

    • wait, how do you know!?

      • Crystal ball….?

    • Can get clones ~$50 with more functionality - SIM card to pick calls when mobile out of reach
, SD card for local music…
      , Camera for Spy fun…
      , universal USB charging
, Radio via $1 USB adapter
      , replaceable battery…
, works with most mobiles, not just 10%
In common with Apple - disposable, but got mine for $20 (with toner purchase).
      Keep the OzBargain spirit :)

  • Could you pair the watch with galaxy phones. They say theres an app for everything

    • +1

No. only galaxy gear which is running Tizen can pair with iPhone but u must wait couple of months for the new software. Or Android Wear can pair with iPhone atm

      • Not what he asked.

No, Apple Watches can only be paired with iOS devices.

        • +2

I already said NO at first

        • +3

@ZombieLover: OK, but everything else you wrote made it seem like you misunderstood the question.

  • Looks like 64GB is replaced by 32GB - so might see price continue to drop on existing stock being cleared - and price protection become a factor

Question regarding 28 Degrees protection - does entire price need to be paid on card? Or can I do a gift card/credit card combo?

    • Looks like 64GB is replaced by 32GB

      No, by 128gb. 16gb by 32gb

    • Entire price on credit card.

      • +1

Wrong. You can pay part with CC, when the item is cheaper you get proportion that you paid with CC

        • +1

          Sorry. My mistake.

  • +1

I was thinking of buying the watch, is it worth??

    • +2

The 2nd generation appears to be far better than the 1st generation. Depends if the additional benefits is worth the extra cost to you.

      • +2

But the price is too good for a 42 mm watvh at 357.. Made me think again n again…

        • +2

          do it.

        • just do it, I never regretted buying my 42mm, this is such a good price…

        • @ShootingStar3388: pray that watchOS3 breaths new life into the old single core Apple Watch 1

    • +4

      No.

      • -1

I bought one at around this price during that Kogan deal…sold it after a month…I'm not really into phones and apps and shit and being bombarded with notifications though.

  • +2

Watch and phone combo make it a $178 watch… Sort of…

Never thought I'd see the day when $1000 for a giant Candy Crush device would be considered a bargain.

    • +5

Yes, a 128GB iPad Pro is a 'giant Candy Crush device'. Good job.

      • -5

What can you do with an iPad Pro anyway? I am curious?

        • -1

what can't it do for you?

        • @jenkemjunkie: Judging by the negs on mattlol, I'd say Candy Crush is out of the question…

        • @StewBalls:
That's it….! I'm gonna get a custom made basketball singlet made with "Candy Crush" as my back name and an iPad Pro as my team logo. 9.8 is my number.

        • -1

If you can't figure that out I'm surprised you're able to use PC right now to post on OzBargain.

  • Gold?

    • Gold price has just been dropped too :)

  • Is apple watch support Android smart phone eg. Samsung Galaxy S7 ? Thanks .

    • +1

      No

      • +1

A couple of twats discussed this earlier in the thread

  • Out of stock most of the stores - watched

  • +1

I only use my Watch for telling the time (duh) and for Running. It's great for changing music on the run. Apart from that, it's just quicker to use the iPhone. It's a good, well built device. The 2nd gen looks a lot more functional especially for swimmers. Avoid if you're not into fitness.

a simple question for previous apple watch owners: are they worth buying? im a bit of a watch guy, but am just not sure on getting the apple watch, mainly because im scared that future ios upgrades will leave it obsolete?

    • Becoming obsolete is one thing guaranteed about the Apple watch. As with their other devices, software upgrades will eventually stop supporting them. Buy it for what use you will get out of it in the next 2-3 years.

    • Just as a watch probably not, as a watch and an extension of the iPhone, absolutely worth buying,
      especially with ApplePay.

    • +1

Put it this way. This is just a watch. Unless they can come up with more use for the watch that can make it obsolete, i am sure you can get at least 5 years from this. Iphone 1 or ipad 1 for example became obsolete because newer programs require better grunt.

      • Good point hadn't thought of it that way before. Although lets be honest we all want the newest and best, so a lot of people (probably me included!!) will be upgrading within the next 2-3 years. But hand-me downs or sell it on

    • I reckon you should buy 2 they're that good. One for each wrist!

  • Watch out mate, you are spending $350+ only to use for the next 2-3 yrs

    • +1

      $100 a year…I could spend $100 on lunch

  • +1

$279 watches available at all Apple stores too! Stock may vary. Just bought 2 from Doncaster.

    • I went to castle hill and they say no $429 ffs

  • Thanks for the replies, appreciate it. Also good that I don't see the usual negative Apple related comments. As mentioned, I'm a bit of a watch guy, still got my jag watch from 18 yrs ago which I drooled over the jewellery shop window as a high school student, so I am not after something that will only last a few yrs, especially if I'm spending that much money.

Having owned iPhones since the 3, I know that battery degradation is normal after a couple of yrs. im assuming this would apply to the Apple Watch too. So that might mean long term ownership is out of the question, as in say 7 yrs time, the watch won't work at all…?

    • I'd say 7 years is a bit of a stretch, I'd say 5-6 years. Eventually new apps and other similar things will come out which will probably demand faster processor etc etc. My opinion anyway =)

    • You can go to apple and get a new battery. But 5 years for software in a lifetime

  • +1

why on earth would you get the 6s for $998 when you can get the iphone 7 for 1079, wtf

    • Would you act want a 7 Though?

    • I agree also why would you buy the watch when the watch 2 is only a bit more with so much more functionality - faster, gps, swimming

      • +1

        a bit more

Double the price. I am considering series 2 for water resistance tho

  • Pretty good bargain with the iPad Pro 9.7' 128GB, considering now that Apple reduced it from $1149 to $999, you get a $100 gift voucher with $2 off

  • some good points raised, cheers

ps: does anyone else occasionally use their ipad as a gps, just because the scren is so damn big :D

  • Harvey Norman just called me to say that they will cancel the order as they don't have any more stock and they will not get more. They are not sure when the refund will be credited back. Not happy!

    • unfortunately same here, they said maybe Dec for stock…

  • Decided to go for the series 2. I have a 38mm Space Grey/Black Band PM if interested
