100% of attempts have lead to a child being reared.

        • @tomsco:

          No kids then huh? :P

  • -5

Not sure where the bargain is here. The iPhone SE at $700 is inferior to Android phones price at $300 or less.

    • +2

Unfortunately not true, performance wise the iPhone slaughtes even the $1000+ Android's. Maybe in 2-3 years that statement will be true.

      • +5

Why is this down voted? It's absolutely correct. The A9 has the best single core benchmark of any phone, and the real world performance of iOS is much better than Android.

        • +2

You're forgetting the A10 :) but you're right, beats SD820 by a fair bit. The 820 phones are only a little better than the A9 dual core iPhone in multi core tests which is because the SD820 has 2 more physical cores.

Because Android Fanboys don't like to acknowledge the truth

        • @Ronnnie: Actually Ronnie, I have plenty of Apple iPads, Macs and MacBooks these days. I just refuse to buy over priced iPhones and over priced Apple watches. I have used the iPhone SE before and I thought it was not anywhere as good as the LG G3 phone which is around $300. I am not sure if you are willing to face the truth Ronnie ?

  • oznobargain.com.au

overly sensitive mods removed my neg vote. thanks

  • -7

this is not anything like a bargain. buy an iphone 5s which is the same almost.

    • +7

No… It's really not. That's like saying the Galaxy S7 is almost the same as the Galaxy S5

      • -1

im a professional mobile phone repairer.
all parts inside the 5S and SE are the same except rear camera CPU. every other components are compatible with each other.

$750 is definitely not a bargain.

        • +1

What about the NFC chip? And 2GB of RAM? And faster flash memory?

        • -1

Just don't tell Apple fanboi Ronnie as he lives in an Apple world of denial.

  • -1

Thanks OP. This is a terrific bargain.

  • +2

What even is this iPhone SE? Is it like the iPhone 5.5?

    • +7

Its the iPhone 6s in a smaller form factor

  • -1

Free delivery and you still can make voice calls with this phone. Bargain!

  • -4

I don't like 4 inch screens. I tried to like them, but I find them annoying now. Typing out a message can be a pain on a 4 inch screen for me. I often have missed taps or it just doesn't detect my tap. I've seen on YouTube comparisons videos with the SE others have this problem too. Another thing I don't like is how poor of screen to body ratio these phones have. Sony manages to fit a 4.6 inch screen and front facing speakers on a phone similar in size. If this phone had a 4.5 inch display, I would have gone back to Apple.

  • +1

This is a retail price, not any form of bargain at all. Yes, price dropped, but this happens to any other phones out there when a newer model phone is released, so should we post every single of them here?

  • +2

What's with all the hate ??

Android fanboys out in force today

  • +2

Have to neg, it can be found as cheap and cheaper at other local retailers like officeworks. Not really a bargain if the price is the same at every other local retailer.

  • +8

Voting to support OP's effort. Need more like him to keep the community running. Keep the hate to yourself.

  • -6

RRP for a glorified iPhone 5s. Not a deal.

    • Why do people pay so much for the Galaxy S7 if it's just a glorified S5 then?

      • +4

If someone posted a S7 deal with rrp I would negged that too.

  • +2

    Don't get the iPhone SE

Try the Samsung Note 7 and make sure you charge it on carpet

    • +1

Enough with the drama. Only 0.1% of phones were affected and many people are receiving updated fault free Note 7s next week or the week after. Jesus…

  • +2

Come on, the development costs of this phone would have been substantially lower given theyre recycling many parts out of a nearly four year old device and let's be honest, 600 for a year old flagship is reasonable, not 750.

  • +1

the true value of an iphone can be found on the apple website by how much you can get for a trade-in.

  • -2

Good device for techno-challenged people with tiny hands. People like Trump.

  • +3

it's the RRP, not really a bargain, sorry op but I'm negging it!

  • +4

    Rrp drop. Not a "bargain".

  • +1

Kinda reminds me the moment where I tried to bargain with JB for the iPhone 6 when DSE has having a 10% sale, they offered to sell it for $1 less than it.

  • +1

I might as well post something similar on OzBargain too:

    iPad Pro 32GB 9.7inch, now $849 (previously $899)
    iPad Pro 128GB 9.7inch, now $999 (previously $1149)
iPad Pro Smart Keyboard for 9.7 iPad Pro, now $229 (Previously $269)
    and so…

    iPhone 6s 32GB, only $929 (previously $1029 for the 16GB model)

iPhone SE… oh you already wrote that so i can't post it.

Comes with FREE delivery if you buy on the Apple Website (like all other products you can buy from there).

Maybe I post that University students get some kind of discount too aye on OzBargain ('Discount Apple Products for University students'). Feel free to post that if you want.

  • +3

SE is like an iphone 6s with a smaller screen. It is a bargain if you prefer ios system and small size phone. This is the best choice.

  • Thanks OP, still appreciate the heads up re drop in RRP. I'm still using an iPhone 5 from 2012 and have been eyeing the SE, size is perfect for me.

  • +1

Thanks OP. Bought like 5 to Broden off

  • +2

RPP old stock, no deal. For the same price, I would able to get flagship phone elsewhere anytime

  • What the hell has happened to ozbargain….

To everyone hopping on the "it's rrp price" train, you are really ruining the site.

  • LOLOLOL

    iSheep reporting for duty here.

I'm sorry, I'm just brave enough to buy and use a phone with no headphone jack.

I'm not brave enough to spend 1350 and continue using a phone that has been recalled and repeatedly warned against using by forums and site's because it can explode and injure me or other people around me.

But iSheep are blind followers. Please Samsung people guide us on now to spend our own money. We desire quality, such as that of your exploding flagship.

Android 7 has been out for a few days now, which Samsung phone runs Android 7 again?

Ahhh man can't wait for the new Pixel phones, all this exploding battery, no headphone jack garbage is just a distraction from the real beauties heading our way!

    • +2

iOS vs Android = Apple vs Samsung, apparently…

      • Nah I'm not interested in iOS vs Android, I love Android, I use all 3 OS's. I just target the Samsung fans.

All of the bloated touchwiz, barely ever receives an update, exploding battery part of it.

    • Exploding battery aside, people are getting free immediate replacements so unless your battery has actually exploded (a veeeery small percentage out of every note 7 in existence) then there really isn't an issue.

Not sure what point you're getting at with Android 7, android is not Samsung's proprietary OS so that point is not even relevant.

Enjoy your dongles on dongles and premium prices for lightning connector peripherals. Can't wait for Apple to phase out more universal standards and turn into a full on proprietary functioning phone!!! What's next? Apple screens that can only be viewed with Apple sunglasses!

      • I'm calling it now - next iPhone will have the topside as just one screen (no more physical home button), no more cables for charging meaning contact charging only.

      • -1

LOL exploding batteries aside? Yea sure, see that house that burnt down over there from a Note 7 exploding, ignore that, keep using yours despite the manufacturer itself telling people to bring it back.

"Free" replacements, you mean they aren't charging you to give you a phone that isn't a risk to your life or people nearby, my my what generosity, if only Apple learned to sell you a phone that can explode and than not charge you a fee to replace it. When will they give us this level of quality.

Hahaha, the Android 7 point is irrelevant? Who wants the latest software anyway right? All that private and sensitive data you have on your phone, it doesn't need the latest software to be protected at all, when a new glitch is discovered that let's someone else take over your "older version of Android" Samsung phone, please message them by saying Android is not Samsung's proprietary OS, they will surely back off and run the other way. Yes.

There is one connector that supports everything, the only thing that was taken away was the 3.5 mm, which to bring back requires you to plug into 1 adaptor. Want to charge your phone and use 3.5, once again 1 adaptor.

I don't defend Apples choice to remove the 3.5, I actually don't listen to music at all and don't plan on getting a iPhone 7, I was merely replying to your dongles upon dongles remark.

Besides Samsung phones have nothing on the real Android phones that cost half as much and get updated much faster, the nexus and soon to be pixel.

Enjoy your Samsung non proprietary OS Android phone that explodes and only costs 1350. But hey it has an headphone jack.

        • +2

First, I don't even own a note 7. I'm not even the biggest fan of Samsung, but your remarks sound like extremely biased attacks against Samsung.
As I said before, of all the millions and millions of units that have sold, only a minuscule amount have defect batteries, and they are making every effort to replace them without inconveniencing owners (units are collected by a courier and courier gives you a new unit on the spot).

LG for example had a similar issue before and refused to acknowledge the issue, only assisting once people's batteries have ALREADY exploded. Sure, this looks bad for Samsung because they themselves have announced the recall, and now their battery issue is widely known. They've taken a PR hit, but at least they are doing the right thing. No doubt if this happened to Apple, I'm sure they would do the same, not going to give Apple any grief here.

You seem to imply that once new versions of Android are out, old versions are immediately insecure? Right on buddy. Again, you seem to specifically be targeting Samsung here, this is true for all Android phones. They'll all update to Android 7 eventually but it's unreasonable to suggest that every single Android phone should receive the update as soon as it has rolled out as a stock OS. Not that this is even a huge point, find better things to talk about please.

"The only thing that was taken away was the 3.5 mm"
Fair enough if you don't listen to music, but the 3.5mm jack is a universal standard that means so much more than just being incompatible with every day earphones. Earphones, headsets, AUX cables, speakers, amps, the list of gadgets right now that have a 3.5mm jack right now goes on and on and on. Are you going to buy a dongle/new cables for everything? You may say yes, but how incredibly inconvenient, it's laughable.

Sure there is a work around being able to listen to music AND charge at the same time. No shit, there HAS to be a workaround. A workaround that costs $80 and all of a sudden you have a dongle on a dongle. Oh and one of the dongles now has a nice square block to house 2 ports. Great job!! Won't your pockets just feel great!
Let's say you buy lightning connector earphones/headphones (Woohoo! I halved the number of dongles I need now!), now you've got to shell out a premium price for one of the few manufacturers willing to produce these. Okay, so now we've invested in a nice pair of lightning earphones/headsets. Want to plug it into your laptop? Your PC? Now we need a reverse adaptor! One that goes lightning output to 3.5mm input. We've reduced the need for a dongle in one area, but now require another one.

By now I'm sure you've got my point, the removal of the jack is absurd. Even if you claim that it doesn't affect you, I hope you can now see how much it would affect others, how likely it is to drive off hardcore Apple fans because lets be honest, it is a huge inconvenience. It can not be defended by just saying "But there are adaptors!" Classic iSheep defending every design choice that comes Apple.

I will agree with you on your last point, I myself do prefer other non-Samsung cheaper Android phones. But I would pick Samsung over Apple any day of the week.

  • $80 price cut after one year on the market. Hmm.

    • +2

      6 months actually

  • +1

What a generous discount! More expensive than previous deals after price drop!

  • +5

Just a heads up if you're considering to buy an iPhone 6S Plus/6S/SE now (as I previously posted in another thread) -

I went into the Apple store after work on Thursday and spoke to one the staff. If you're after iOS 10 pre-installed (in iPhone SE, iPhone 6S Plus/6S) you should wait two weeks as the until new "configured" stock arrives - the only positive is that they were manufactured this year (for iOS 10).

Otherwise you can just dowload it (iOS 10) :-/ (if you really need an iPhone now or just content with iOS 9)

    Hey Apple: #bringbackthejack !

Gave a + just because of the negativity from other users. Just get over it…
