I'm on the 2 months free trial that I got from the back of a Woolies docket, and I still have 1+ month free. How am I supposed to enter this code?

    • +1 wanting to know where to enter this? Mine expires in a month.

      • +6

You must have less than 1 month of your trial remaining.

If you do, go to Settings, and where it shows your current option there are links to 'Pause Subscriptions' and 'Enter Code'.

        • I don't get the 'Enter Code' option after I've paused my free subscription. would you know of any other way to get that code in? I've had a look around as well, but can't see it

  • +3

Just beware… When they start billing they don't send you any invoice or receipt so it's very easy to go without noticing you're out of pocket 15 dollars every month especially if you don't use this service much. Never again.

    • +4

Yep - I had 2x free 6 month blocks (and never really used it). Got charged a month and was lucky that I noticed and cancelled!

      • How do you candle I can't seem to find my lot in got charged this month.

        • +6

You use a lighter and burn the 'candle' to stop it.

(sorry, that spelling error of cancel was just there for the taking..lol)

        • go onto presto and click on the icon of a person its at the top right, itll say settings and for me it says pause subscription. i assume thats how.

    • +3

thats what the coles prepaid mastercard deals are for people (buy a $5 online mastercard and never worry about canceling a free trial)

    • +3

What you can do is apply for your free trial - then immediately pause. The pause only takes effect once the trial is over.

They send you an email so if there is "mistake" you have evidence they had confirmed you would not continue to paid subscription.

      Tom

      • That's an awesome tip!

I've just been setting up Google Calendar to tell me a couple of days before it finishes.

    • Yeah happened to me. Got charged for 1 month without any notification or bill. I only noticed it cos I was checking my citibank statements the other day. It was 2 weeks ago! -_-

    • "OK Google, remind me to cancel Presto in 5 months".
      Done

  • Any tips on how to get a free trial? Cheers

    • +2

Their own website has 1 month, and woolies dockets always have 2 months on them

    • +7

On the back of my Coles docket, SD2MMELE1716 for 2 months if you or anyone else wants.

      • +2

Thanks - my free 6 month subscription ran out a couple of months ago and I had the account on pause. The code in this deal didn't work for me, but your code did. Thanks Rupture

        • +1

          No worries, enjoy :)

  • +7

Anybody else find that the Android Presto app is literally worse than Hitler?

My girlfriend has to force-quit the app between every episode for it to load the next one - on an S7.

    • +6

Don't worry. Their website is like that too.
On latest Mac, all up to date.

Still can't find anything worthwhile that I haven't seen on here.
I find it is a rip-off even though its free.
I wonder if Stan is any better?

      • +1

Do they even have HD video yet? When I first tried out a free trial of it they had only SD video.

        • +2

Yeah, they have HD and Dolby surround sound now. That's improved, but the app is still arse. Still buggy.

        • +1

          No HD on PC iirc

      • +4

Stan is better but they dont just give out free trials willy nilly like presto

        • +1

Agreed. Better PS4 interface. Reliable and no drop outs..unlike Presto.

        • +2

          @Donatello:
Well… I'll be on the look out for a free trial.
I buy things that I believe deserve it… however the whole industry just makes it more rational to pirate content.

      • +1

Kangai that made me laugh! The presto trial is the definition of a free rip-off, I feel like I should charge them money for joining and wasting my time. The worst and most useless service there is.

    • +1

I have to force quit between episodes sometimes too. My latest experience is that it thinks my password is invalid but won't send me the lost password email.

    • +1

      sucks with chromecast integration too.

I find it easier to just cast my mobile screen and play the content like that

    • I have this exact problem too. Do they really expect anyone to pay for this if their app doesn't work properly?

  • +6

    Doesn't work for me :(

  • +2

Yep force closing for every episode aswell. In addition to that, Im lucky if it picks up either of Chromecast devices. If I use another app like Stan or YouTube, both app will pick up both Chromecast devices.

    • My trick is to open Presto, then turn off Wifi, then turn Wifi back on and the chromecast icon appears.

  • +1

Damn, got hopeful. Just getting "Promo Code Error" with this too. Into my last fortnight now and haven't had a chance to finish Mr Robot season 2. :(

    • +1

Just buy a $5 online coles prepaid master card to create an account and use another free 2 month trial off a supermarket docket.

      • +1

I used my coles prepaid MC on this account already. If I don't find a working code by the end of the subscription I'll pause it and make a new account with another card. :)

  • +1

Worked for me on an expired (and paused) account, thanks OP!

  • +1

Has the code worked for anyone who has more than 1 month left?

    • Presto won't let you use it if you have more than 1 month.

      • I have just under 1 month left, tried pausing but still can't locate anywhere it allows a code to be input.

        • If at Presto from a Windows pc, the link to entering the code is just after where you pause the subscription. What device are you using?

        • @norkle:
I'm on a Windows pc, it only allows me to resume which I did, it says my expiry is on 10/10.

        • @pennyless: For me, if I go to settings, Presto shows the 3 subscription levels, and highlights my current selection. In my current selection I have links to select Pause or use Code. It isn't obvious or intuitive.

        • @pennyless: got the same problem as you

        • If you can't find the place to enter the promo code (I couldn't on Windows) just contact [email protected] and tell them your presto username and the code. They will enter it manually (they did it for me for this bargain).

They can't add the code (so they said) if your subscription is paused… but said they would refund any costs.

  • +1

Good timing for me. Now I am subbed until the first week of December. That'll be 5 months free. Cheers OP.

  • +1

If you have a PlayStation, it's seamless HD streams. SD on only through a browser.

  • Thanks OP….couldn't get it to work on my iPad but worked fine on my Mac :))

  • +3

Not working for me, less than a month left on current sub and keep getting error message. Thanks anyway!

    • +1

I have never had success with a presto code. Not even the introductory free month offer

  • It worked for me and my subscription has been canceled or how they call it "on hold" for a few months

  • +2

Presto sucks, netflix is way better

    • +1

I'm on my 3rd 6months free so I'm pretty happy with it. Haven't seen anything from Netflix similar so can't comment on the differences.

  • +1

Presto is by far the worst video streaming service I have ever has the displeasure of using. If it wasn't free, it wouldn't be worth my time, and at the moment, barely is. The PS4 app is absolute trash, firstly it's painful searching for content. Auto completed suggestions like 'Parks and Recreation' don't display the show, instead the suggestion 'Parks' will. It regularly thinks you're stuck on one particular episode and so tries to play it each time you revisit a series. It regularly disconnects from the internet which requires you to manually log in (there's no way to save password) and occasionally, and ONLY occasionally, you have to also enter a pin number too. What's the point of having that at all if it's not prompted all the time? Don't even get me started on the equally terrible website which only works on the Microsoft Edge browser and in SD for me.

  • +3

netflix has a better interface and content but presto is okay (with all these promo codes). i use it to watch some great aussie shows like rake and the slap etc, which other streaming services don't get. it generally streams content quite well for me too. running on mac.

that said, this promo code doesn't work for me. sub expiry on 20/9 and i get the promo code error message…

  • -4

The code doesn't work for me:

    #

    Promo Code Error
An error occurred when applying the promo code. Please review the troubleshooting guide to ensure you are applying the code correctly. If you continue to have further issues, please contact customer support at [email protected]

    #
    • No idea why my comment got so many downvotes, all I said was the code didn't work and I copied and pasted the error message…. am I missing something?

The code didn't work for me, just like a bunch of other people here?

      • I can't explain the negs either.

What device/s are you watching Presto from?

What device are you accessing Presto from when you try to add the code?

        What is your current subscription?

      • +2

Probably because you negged the deal.

      • i appreciate op's post for the people it does work for, it'd be great to have an extra 2mths but yeah, isn't a neg vote valid if you fit the description for the code to work and then it doesn't work?

        • I don't have a problem with a neg if it doesn't work. The usual posting rules about it having to be a saving aren't so important when its free (quietly adds cost saving to OP).

  • lol just use a new prepaid card

  • Works, thanks OP

  • Worth it for Mr Robot!!

  • Thanks OP…. worked on my "paused" account that was paused 1 day before payment of real $$$$$ about 3 months ago :)

  • does anyone have a clue as to why it works for some but not others?
my 6mth free trial expired 20 aug, paid one month and new sub expiry is 20 sep. does it work for others who are paying?
i've tried inputting code through android app, normal presto site thru browser on android, and chrome on my mac, no luck…

  • had to unpause my account to be able to add the promo.. but then validating fails :(

  • Not working for me, and I paid last month for the first time after a 6 month promo.

  • Having tried all of the (main) on demand services, presto ranks at about the worst for me.
It's a bit buggy. Sign up issues put me on to a 50 page complaint list about the one thing, and they still refuse to listen to customers. Interface to try find things to watch is pretty ordinary IMO.

Lots of Season 1 Episode 1's - WhereTF is the rest of the season? No one wants to watch just one episode….

If it wasn't free, I wouldn't have it. Presto is ordinary compared to Netflix and Stan.

  • Not working for me. Says "Promo code error"

  • Tried TELYIELDS3, TELYIELDS16 and SD2MMELE1716 all to no avail :(

I'm currently paying $14.95 per month for the entertainment package.

Maybe I should try pausing my subscription and then entering a code.

  • Thanks, worked for me :) expired and paused account.

  • Twice I have gone to cancel my Presto account when the free trial expired and twice they have given me two more months free. But I forgot to cancel one time so I have actually forked out 14.99 for 12 months of Presto

  • Neither code worked for me. On the last day of a 6-month free trial.

  • +1

    Presto code for 2 months.

    SD2MSYDW1716

    thankyou, please come again.

    • If this works for others, I'll include it in the post info.

      • Hope it does because i was given the code but i dont use presto as i have netflix and foxtel…. stupid licensing laws.

        • It seems to be a generic code for new accounts. Got the same code on the back of a coles docket.

        • @CVonC: so it can be use multiple times on new accounts?

        • @Hotkolbas:

          I would assume so

  • I don't feel it's worth of spending time to extend this free trial. I will stick to Stan and Netflix.

  • Worked for me. Thanks

  • Promo codes NEVER work for me, I always have to contact PRESTO to have it applied manually

  • Code didn't seem to apply to my account :( neither did the code in the previous thread. I also clicked 'pause subscription' and they just let me pause without even trying to retain me with a freebie month or two.

Although Presto has some original and good video content, I can't really keep paying for it when, as mentioned several times already, the app is buggy as sh!t.

Netflix works seamlessly and Stan works fairly well. Airplay from my iPhone or Macbook normally works really well and is 'okay' (and required) with Presto, but I still have to regularly close and relaunch the app and find where Im at with whatever show Im watching.
