  • I'm a bit confused what this is for? Is it for media streaming? If so then it lacks features like TV tuners, a remote and pre installed apps. The Fetch TV mighty seems like a better option for $400 or with an Optus contract.

    • Probably going to be a whole lot more powerful and capable when setup.

It's basically a full blown PC. Pop in a M.2 SSD and some RAM and it is a very capable little desktop computer. Assuming they honour the price, mine will be replacing a 2009 Mac Mini as the main HTPC in the house as the processor and integrated graphics is fine to play 1080p. For the OS, OpenElec is an OS that can run off a USB stick and is based on Kodi/XBMC and either plays local content or streams from a server. I've got a spare Win10 license that I will use on mine though

  • $421 now. parties over

  • Phew picked it up before the price change - I hope they honour it.

I hope they send it before the eBay 10% deal ends so that I can pick up some RAM and SSD - any suggestions anyone?

  • I am still waiting for the SSD I bought from them:

It has been 2 weeks. Do not order from them yet, I will report back. Be very careful. Express Post from them is taking at least 2 weeks now……

    • Hi there,

Sorry to hear, can you PM me your order number so i can sort it out for you?

Perhaps there was a mistake with your order as express post should be 1-2 days max

If it hasn't shipped yet for some unforeseen reason, we will give you something to make up for the delay and fix the issue post haste! :)

I have emailed you but still haven't got any reply as to what is going on for an express post taking almost 3 weeks now and still in VIC.

Ah, so you already have the tracking number, the issue must be with Australia post as our records show it shipped about 2 weeks ago. It could be the team has already asked Australia Post to investigate, i will follow this up for you.

kindly PM me the tracking number you have too please if its not too much trouble, so i know we are on the same page.

        • @Warehouse1: I have just messaged you the tracking no.

I hope it didn't take long to 'investigate'. I will update everyone here when this get resolved.

I have setup with this NUC with 8GB RAM and SSD HDD, wow it's really fast and if you don't play games, very capable for normal user like me, I love it.

    • Yeah can second that, got the NUC5PPYH from MSY for around $260, pop the 8gb RAM and SSD into it and it's ready to rock and roll. Just wish that I saw this deal earlier though :(

  • that was one cheap 4k player.

    • Can this play 4k? I'm wrapped if it can; now I just need to convince the better half that we need a 4k TV

      • That display port 1.2a can support 4k 60 Hz, i believe you just need a DisplayPort to HDMI 2.0 cable for compatible TVs
