Sony Bravia KDL65W850C 65" FHD Android TV $1736 Delivered @ eBay (Good Guys)

200
CHILL15

Credit goes to ShamlessBargains for notifying us of the original 15% off eBay sale: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/265623

After learning that this TV is included in the sale I believed it was more than worthy of its own posting.

It's a discontinued 2015 model and not available at all retailers, if I'm not mistaken you'll still find them on the Sony website and JB Hifi for a similar price though without the $299.25 generous eBay discount.

Of course you could always choose the 'Click and Collect' option and stack that with the current Cashback offering of 1.25% to (eventually) snag the respectable price of $1674!

As this is a genuine android TV one can install a number of different apps such as VLC, Kodi etc from the Google Play Store which can easily be controlled with your PS4 controller or bluetooth keyboard.

I recently purchased one for our home till 4K is an affordable option in a similar size and could'nt be happier for the price and functionality hence why I've made the effort to share this info with the OzB community.

If your also looking for a quality and well priced (articulating) wall bracket, I would recommend this item which I installed from Selby Acoustics: http://www.selby.com.au/42in-70in-plasma-wall-mount-black-pl…
The bracket can also be found on their eBay store: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/42-70-Inch-100kg-LED-LCD-Plasma-T…

Not sure how many TV's are left but if your looking for a decent sized HD screen that's not going to break the bank this would be well worth pulling the trigger on :)

    • Cheers, that's the exact sale I bought mine from though that price did not include delivery.

Unfortunately the current sale is only 15% and the previous sale which ended a few days ago did not include this model.

  • Also bought from previous deal. Great TV but the UI can be sooooo slooow!!!!

    • I've read this a few times in reviews though can't say experienced the same problem.

Did you update the firmware after installation?

      • Yep - Up to date and still periods of none responsive remote and just generally seriously slow UI.

        • Some people are more patient I guess!

    • Also bought from the previous deal. First TV i picked up ended up with a vertical blue line, swapped without box for the last one in store been great ever since.

I actually find the UI really responsive, I even run KODI right on the TV as an app without problems (even over wifi 5ghz). Unless your talking about the TV Guide that is the only thing I find lagging (But it doesn't bother me as hardly ever watch normal TV broadcasts anyway)

      • Kodi is the bomb!

Haven't plugged in the antennae cable for 6 months! lol

    • I am interested in this TV. Would you be able to provide some feedback??

      • Look up ^^
        :)

  • this or aldi one?

    • Aldi TVs are garbage.

      • 65" 4K for $799 ?

Give it a try for the 60 days if you can beat the crowd.

The price is irrelevant when you have to return it after a week. Check the threads on WP.

        • @Jamiea:

You might want to return if not happy with it. They don't have a 100% return rate typically though.

        • @Steptoe: They're a good TV, but not much quality control. They return it with no problems if you do have issues. So worth the punt if that's your budget.

          @justmiike:

Might wait for a repeat of this Soniq deal Many stores have stock again now that the special is over.

    • I am in the same boat!

  • Has anyone had any luck with JB price beat/matching TGG EBAY deals?

    • Would be very interesting to see same pricing as JB bought TGG across both retails, but I hope not.

      • oh yeah I saw that too today! Makes it interesting.

    • Nope, tried Sunday and doubt they've changed policy even with the takeover. Doesn't hurt to try though

  • Full HD, not 4k.
