eBay 15% off Sitewide Offer When You Spend $75 or More (Max $300 Discount)

11460
CODE15

Just received a call this morning, while I was on the way to work, from a trusted source that was right in the past about (3 out 5 times).

They are claiming that their friend's hairdresser sister was walking her dog with her best friend last night and her best friend told them that there will be 15% Site wide. Possibly starting today. I have no further details so don't ask.

It seems somewhat hard to believe due to the number of coupons that were floated this month but I thought I'd share it anyway. I possibly risk the largest number of negs if it's not coming to fruition but I'll take the punt to give my friends at ozbargain a heads up.

I am getting my cart content lined up….

Remember to use cashrewards…

        • will I have to pay custom duty even if i pay less than $1000 but the original listing costs more than $1000. Since, the bill is generated on the original cost.

Technically you will pay Duty on the full value of the item.

Customs would assess a cheap tech purchase, irrespective of the value written ion the invoice. This is because otherwise, every importer would just use fake invoices to avoid customs.

        • @llama: How do you define true value? If you mean Australian price? Then you are incorrect. I have ordered many goods where the things cost $1000+ here but $600-700 from grey import.

But here the problem is the original invoice is >$1000 so they might charge GST?

        • -1

          @karansuper:

          Then you are incorrect

Well, if you already know all the answers, then why are you asking?

And if you want the CORRECT answer, you need to ask CUSTOMS, not a bunch of randoms on a internet forum.

        • @llama: Well I am sorry for the confusion, But I did not know the answer. My question was " Do we have to pay GST even if i pay less than $1000 but the original listing costs more than $1000?"

And I am asking here because people share there experiences/ mistakes from which the whole community can learn/benefit.

The statement you made is incorrect. It might confuse users who buy things that are listed <$1000 but cost much more here in australia. That is why I corrected you.

        • @karansuper:

I have no idea what you are talking about.

          Customs uses ASSESSED VALUES.

You cannot bring in 20 x iPhone 7's on an invoice for $999 and expect not to pay Customs and Duty.

          READ, LEARN: https://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Impo/Impo

        • @llama: I totally agree with you mate. They will easily know that you are committing fraud in that case.

However, what i am saying is you can order a Galaxy s7 edge that costs $1200+ here in Australia for only $679 (if you find a seller) without paying any duty. I am speaking from experience.

        • @karansuper:

Good for you. Customs assesses based on how THEY value the goods. The invoice is "evidence" but not necessarily 100% what they base it upon.

Personally I don't value a Galaxy S7 at even $600, and they probably don't either.

BTW - how are you going to handle the recall on your grey import?

        • @llama: Well i have ordered multiple iphones as well. They cost here $1079 and i got them less than $800. So, it does not really matter.

and BTW, The recall is for Note 7 and not galaxy s7 edge. You should keep up :)

        • iPad Pro 12.9" was bought for ~$1200 in Australia not overseas.

        • @karansuper:

The recall is for Note 7 and not galaxy s7 edge. You should keep up :)

          Yep, my mistake DOH.

does anyone know if the deal can be applied if the vendor accepts my offer?

      Of course.

I'm not sure there's a way to add a coupon code to a Make An Offer transaction

If your offer is accepted, the item ends up in your Shopping Cart.

Key in the code, then process payment.

  • This is too funny. Talk about a bargain hunter, you legend!

  • Looks liek you can only use it one time

  • If anyone sees any good washing machine or fridge deals, please post them.

  • These E Bay sales are getting very very frequent

    • It's curious, I haven't seen a gap between sales longer than a day. I wonder what is going on over at Ebay HQ

      • Same as every other retailer… constantly having sales drives people to the site drives people to buy. of course what happens in the end is people start to realize that prices are build in to accommodate sales and no one buys outside sales anymore because they know a sale is coming, or they get fatigued by the constant sales and don't turn up anymore…
        (or perhaps that's just me).

  • excellent :)

$2000 to get max discount of $300

  • -6

Max discount of $300 is pretty lame. Has been higher in previous deals e.g. Think last time it was max 5 transactions - max discount of $1000.

    • sadly they're on backorder… so no idea when/if they'll actually be able to fill your order

anyone know of a sub $75 good quality in-ear headphones with mic?

  • +1

Just bought $1000 of stuff in my cart!

  • Is there any reason behind eBay offering all these coupons? They never used to.

    • Add to profits!

      • +5

        Boost falling sales and profits

      • +2

Yes they make a loss on each sale but make it up in volume.

    • +6

Probably to accelerate to a sales target so some execs can get their bonuses.

      • Exactly that. Ebay shares at all time high. Amazon hardly makes a profit but Jeff Bezos is the 3rd wealthiest man on Earth. Board members and execs always get boatloads of shares given to them and a high share price means when they sell, they make a boat load of money.

    • +1

It's a revenue thing, rather than a profit thing, which can be dangerous to focus on, particularly long-term. Guessing it's being driven by the board, to appease the shareholders of eBay.

Seems ebay's revenue has been decreasing in a time where their competitors (alibaba, aliexpress, amazon, etc.) are taking advantage of the boom in eCommerce.

  • I just purchased Kogan Agora 6 with this code. It worked.
    Thanks :)

    • Sorry about that.

      • o.0 ?
I know it's not a great phone but I think it's enough for what I need.

  • Grr! I should have read the terms "one use only" before grabbing something.

Oh well, still got one bargain. :)

    Crikey so tempting.

    • have you bought lenses from them before?

      • Unfortunately no. They have no negative feedback on lenses though so that fills me with some confidence.

  • Just saved $260 on a Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8 L II USM for under $1500. Stoked!

      Any iPhone 7 deals?

Try searching eBay. In that way, if you see one you can buy.

Why be so lazy and ask here… do you expect us to go and look for you?

    • With or without an earphone jack? :P

  • ah damn, already ordered a galaxy phone. could have saved another $40

  • -1

Damn, the iPad I was looking at yesterday sold.

why do I always think of a million things to get when no sale/discount codes and nothing when there is one??! :|

    • add to cart

    • Use the "Add to wish list" feature on each page, then when a sale occurs, buy them. :P

      • I do use the wish list but in hindsight it's all junk that I don't even want anymore hahaha. Impulse buy is so much more fun :D

  • auction??

  • Are the auction sales included or is it buy now only? I read the terms and conditions and it seems okay with a few categories excluded but I'm just a bit worried if I bid for a bunch of stuff and it turns out I don't get the discount

*Services, Cars, Bikes, Boats, Tickets, Travel and Gift Cards are excluded.
Also you need to pay through paypal

  • Thanks OP, used it already! Thanks TA, got your e-mail too!

NOTE: even if I end up paying GST (since > $1000) it should be slightly cheaper than buying local

        • Good to know it works on overseas sellers. Ads on the site keep saying from Aussie Sellers and keep sending me to buy it now listings

        • The problem with this is they charge you GST + some kind of processing fees which can be like $100.
So, are you sure it is still less expensive?

        • +1

OMG! Another Kupo! :P (Sorry, not deal related lol never seen another kupo before)

Dicksmith jacked up all their iPad prices

    • trust.

    • That is really shonky as they're not losing any margin since eBay cover the 15% off.

  • -2

    any iphone 7?

    • -1

Don't be lazy - Go and SEARCH EBAY

  • +1

Is this only on Buy it now items or can also be used on Auctions?

    • I have this same question. Hope someone can give an answer!

I'm in the midst of a private auction set to end before the end of the promotion period so hopefully it's still valid.

    • It applies to PAYMENTS.

So, you apply the discount when you make payment, not when you make the "purchase".

So, how the item gets purchased is irrelevant. It is a discount based on one transaction, which is a PAYMENT.

  • +1

What happened to the 20% off….eBay keeps doing 15% but last 20% off was over a year ago?

  • Will I have to pay custom duty even if i pay less than $1000 but the original listing costs more than $1000. Since, the bill is generated on the original cost.
