  Dgtec don't exactly have the best rep, stories about unstable and hot running stbs, hope this model is improved, it's selling for $50 less than the Aldi version($299) so if you want to take a punt, go for it, but i think this Christmas you will be able to buy these units for <$200

    The problem with this one is the lack of padding when recording from the tv guide ie missing the end of a show kind of kills the recording feature, i am trying to check if there is some firmware updates but the threads at whirlpool indicate there is no update for this model intended.
