[Pricing Error] McDonalds Soft Serve Cone in Cup + M&Ms for $0.50

Moved to Forum: Original Link

Just ask for an icecream cone in a cup. M&Ms have no price, so they should give them to you free of charge, like in my case.

Usual price for an M&Ms McFlurry is $4.65, you that's not a bad deal at all.

  • Not another one of these……hmmm

    • JV would be furious, where is he?

  • +11

a small handful of m&m's is hardly a 'hack'

  • +2

maybe it only works after midnight

  • +1

its not the full size of the mcflurry and i find thats good because i don't want a huge one. thanks for the tip

  • +11

You should of been charged $0.50 for the m&m topping..

  • +22

Have been doing this for several months (okay, years…) and ALWAYS been charged $0.50 for a lid of toppings.
Also, this isn't getting a McFlurry for this price; so your title is misleading if not outright wrong.

    • +1

Don't they serve the soft serve in the lid, if you ask for no cone?

      • +2

        Yeah, normally.
Can also get any of the toppings. 1xM&Ms and 1xOreo with 2xsoft serve, empty large cup and spoon (just ask for a cup and spoon). Crush the cones in too, extra tasty!

        • +1

SOunds like someones already an expert at crushing cones ;)

    • -1

Also, this isn't getting a McFlurry for this price

I mean its the same thing. Ice cream with a topping.

Ones in a cup. Ones in a cone (with less ice cream).

Been years since the mcflurry has been worth it, no point paying that much for a cup of icecream.

  • +7

Some ice cream and a few M&M's don't make a McFlurry.

    • +4

Yes they do. Just normally it's more.

      • -2

Unless you brought your own blender into the store, no it's not a McFlurry.

        • +13

Mcdonalds don't have mcflurry blenders any more sadly it's basically a sundae. Not even a special sturdy spoon or anything.

        • +7

@Scaregdearimasu: Agree, the McFlurry is rubbish (and a huge ripoff besides) now.

        • Sadly got rid of the blender about 5 years ago. They just dump the shit on top now.

      • +1

Actually having worked at maccas and made McFlurry's with my own two hands I can tell you there's a flurry of activity that occurs which spins and mixes things together to make it a McFlurry. So no, it's not the same thing but more.

    • +2

Doesnt a McFlurry have icecream, 1 topping and 1 sauce?

      • McFlurry is just ice-cream and topping. As per OP's photo (but obviously larger)

        • ice-cream

          Is it?

        • @Diji1: softserve****

    • +5

I don't know about you, but I've been shoving my finger in a soft serve and self-flurrying for years

  • +1

    ˈkɒpɪkat

  • +18

MnMs are usually 50c and they'll give you that with some ice-cream in a sundae lid for $1; not exactly a McFlurry. This is like saying you can get a cheap quarter pounder by ordering a cheeseburger.

    • +8

This is like saying you can get a cheap quarter pounder by ordering a cheeseburger

      Now that's deal worthy ;)

    • This is like saying you can get a cheap quarter pounder for a 6 foot person by ordering a cheeseburger if you are 5 foot.

    • +3

Well if you order one a cone at HJ's, ad some M&Ms, and use the survey/receipt to get a free cheeseburger, it's like a McFlurry and Quarter Pounder for $1 ?

  • Definition of McFlurry basterdised here a lot, but good tip to get ice cream with m and M's in a cone for 50c - Cheers.

    • +1

Sounds like it will more likely be $1, as they should be charging for M&Ms as well - but still cheapish

  • +1

Hey OP, do you know if you got a new staff member?

  • +3

Hey… Isn't this the true spirit of Oz bargin - go easy..

  • +5

….so much discussion/passion over a cup of self serve and some candy.

    • I'd call it chocolate.

      • chocolate candy?

i think thats the most accurate…wouldnt you agree?

        • Chocolate lollies!

        • Sugar-coated chocolate candy.

        • +1

          @Ayedeevee: Multi-Coloured Sugar-coated chocolate candy…

  • +5

Its been posted before. Many times.

I am sure the size of your 1 cone isnt the same amount of ice cream you would get in an actual mcflurry. At least the post above even though expired and from a while ago got it right.

    • +3

      Good find. 1730 upvotes can't be wrong & a 3 cone deal😯

This deal's saving is incorrect & not a McFlurry as described.

    • +1

      Nice detective work

  • +3

    Apple for Apples?

What you have there is in now way the size of a McFlurry so your savings are way off.

The normal price of what is in that pic is not $4.65

  • OP is silly

    • +2

🍦🍦🍦That's what happens when you have too many fake McFlurrys🍦🍦🍦

  • +6

The shame in asking for this is too much. My self esteem would be in tatters knowing McDonalds staff have such pity on someone that would order this

    • +2

I'll often get Oreo added to a choc sundae. Cheaper than mcflurry plus get choc topping.

      • You win the fake mcflurry thread.

    • Would be good for kids tho

    • +3

I think you're on the wrong site if you have 'shame' in getting a mini McFlurry for $1, rather then paying the ripped off $4-5+.

However, if you do not want to say it to the staff directly, you can order it using the self machine.

    • You're ashamed about making a cheap McDonald's order?

  • +2

They don't even flurry the McFlurry's anymore. They're awful.

  • +1

This is embarrassing, similar to begging on the side of the street.

    • +5

begging usually is dictated by need …this a bit more like prostituting your dignity for the sake of a cheap dessert :P

      • Having your 'dignity' tied to not being willing to order something a little strange, is more pitiful to me than prostituting yourself for icecream

ps I'm not replying to you, I know you were making a joke, I thought it was funny

  • +1

This was funny two years ago

  • +3

Gosh people get upset really easily.

  • +2

coffee + sugar- you can get free sugar with your coffee if you ask for sugar.

  • -3

Isn't the cones like 30c tho?

    • Isn't sure it is or it is not.

  • You were lucky to get the M&Ms added for free. Usually they cost 50 cents extra. There is a line item for them in the McDonalds register.

  • Since multiple comments suggest that this was a pricing error, this thread will be marked as such and moved to forums.

  • Sugar… is bad

    • +1

Don't worry they blend some fat through it to balance it out

    • OK sugar laden fruit.

      • sugar laden fruit.—->osama bin laden—->9/11—->illuminati confirmed
