Should be eligible for a copy of Gears of war 4 as per this post.

    • Good question.
T&Cs for promo say "Offer valid only through authorized ETAIL and Retail partners" with this page http://www.geforce.com/gears-of-war-4-bundle-sea listing only pretty standard Australian computer part suppliers as retail partners (Mwave, PCCG etc).

If someone were pulling the trigger on this one and the game was important to them I would certainly contact PCbyte first to confirm they could give you a valid coupon code.

Myself and a friend each bought one from 2 different companies that arn't on that list and we both got a code. I was worried i would't get it but im pretty sure it can be from any store as long as you upload a receipt. I even bought mine the day before the promotion started but it shipped after it started an i still got a code.

They were both EVGA cards though.

  • Very tempting, but I want a 4K monitor before I upgrade from my 960 & I can't really get both atm :(

    • This isn't a good choice for gaming at 4K unless you can live with significant image quality compromises aka lower graphics settings.

      • It'd be fine for the games I want to play, a lot better than my 960 anyway :P

  • Will this be overkill for just watching 4K@60fps (Non Gaming)

      Integrated graphic should do.

CPU with HEVC support will do the job with ease.

  • Dam thats pretty good.

    Any deals on 1080's?

They still seem ridiculously expensive to me but this (1070)seems affordable compared to how much performance gain you get over say a r9-480.

Still hoping AMD comes out swinging with something soon, I would rather support them

  • This is seriously tempting, although I read a lot of reviews complaining about coil whine under load (unfortunately I have sensitive hearing). Would be great to get a good deal on MSI Gaming X.

    • I have this exact card and I have no coil whine so it's more the luck of the draw. I had a hard time choosing between this and the EVGA SC as they were the same price. MSI Gaming X was a bit higher priced at the time.
