i am not the type of person who appreciates music etc that much to buy a ear/headphone over $20

…but damn, thats a pretty beautiful headphone.

    • +2

Yes they sound great but I'm not a fan of wireless for head phones like this …..you would have these for years and batteries set the Lifespan of the product.

      • You can continue to use it as wired if that happen after maybe 5 years of use, or you can contact Sennheiser to have the battery replaced.

  • -3

    Still too expensive.
These would be good for under $200 I think.
They were $180 at CotD in the past.

  • +1

This is the best price I've ever seen for the wireless around the ears. Really tempting…

    • +1

Tempting. Not sure if I'd get these or the Bose QC 35 at this price (not that it's on sale at the moment :()

      • Well they aren't really good substitutes for each other IMO …

        • How are these better? Considering buying…

        • @Morien: reviews I read said the audio quality of these was marginally better than the Bose, but Bose had the better noise cancellation. Seemed to come down to preference, and many reviews noted these have a higher RRP which may sway people to the Bose.

If I had the money I'd probably go the momentum. Prefer how they look and I don't use headphones in noisy environments all that often.

        • @Smigit: Thanks!

    • seems a fair comment

"Bose QC35, with a noticeable advantage in ANC and only a very minor disadvantage in audio quality"

      • +1

        no its not.

  • +1

Bought the black version.. Damn just spent $1200 today on ebay…

    • Have been trying to spend money all night but Ubank has been down all night wtf!
The headphones are great but makes me sleepy… Enjoy :)

Apparently everyone is saying that this is the best headphones to date. But can't justify myself paying that much on a pair. It focuses on sound quality, I don't think it has ANC, like a switch you turn off and on, but it's good enough to eliminate ambient noise. Bose qc35 or qc25 is still the best for ANC though. Only matters to some people who travels much and from nagging wives or has rowdy children. :)

    • I does have ANC. A lot of reviews specifically mention an array of 4 microphones that it uses for this purpose.

      • i stand corrected then. :)

  • +2

any bose qc35 deals on ebay? Also can I claim TRS on ebay purchases? how do they pay it back if I pay through paypal?

    • would also like to know!

  • -1

I bought the wired version on amazon for $300 AUD (delivered) about 3 weeks ago. Sennheiser has international warranty so it was no worries. Wouldnt really recommend wireless unless youre specifically after wireless

    • Same here. Black and ivory have both been on sale for around $200 USD (+$10 delivery). Highly recommended headphones (i have m1 and M2s), larger ear cup is very comfy and sound is also improved.

    • -1

      Id go the other way.

I'd say if you can afford wireless and are dropping nearly $300 anyway, you may as well grab headphones with it. I think the iPhone 7 will create a trend for devices that don't have headphone jacks, and Id personally hate to buy expensive headphones now only to be replacing them in 24 months time or looking for some sort of Bluetooth bridging device so they work with a current phone.

If you're buying these to use indoors with an amp and sound system maybe it's an in issue, but these headphones are designed for mobility so I'd assume most will use them with mobile devices and the like.

      • I don't think so. A good wireless headphone is still too expensive and has lots of limitations (weight and battery life etc.). As the lighting headphone is only compatible to the iphone, the other android companies have to rely on new microUSB or USB-C type headphones which will not be compatible to each other. For headphone companies, there is going to be too many product lines. For customers, it will also create unnecessary cost and waste. If any of the android company dare to follow apple now, it will risk losing the customers unlike apple who is only IOS company on the earth. That's why the new Google pixel phone still has the headphone jack.

Other companies have already removed headphone jacks from other devices, Apple isn't the first. Also headphone companies probably welcome this. It means everyone is looking at the market to buy new headphones. Bluetooth headphones are having the strongest sales growth in the industry at the moment and for good reason.

For the headphone manufacturer it doesn't require supporting multiple versions, all it requires is removable cables that have different termination points for different devices. As it stands, the Sennheiser in this article already supports being plugged into a 3.5mm socket if you want via the removable cable. Headphones could support both lightening and USB-C sockets.

In addition that overlooks the benefit of wireless headphones anyway. The above is a limitation for corded headphones, which is why I wouldn't recommend them if there's only a bit more to pay to get wireless. $363 is only $63 more than the poster I replied to paid for non wireless, which I don't consider much. These being Bluetooth headphones mean they wouldn't even have to support USB-C/Lightening, as there is a global wireless standard already in Bluetooth that all mobile devices are supporting. Again, these are portable headphones so I'm assuming they are being used with portable devices, optional 3.5mm cable aside. All Bluetooth headphones need is a USB cable to allow them to be charged, and supporting a standard USB Type A power cable (as these do) means people can use their phones charger to charge the headphones as a worse case.

As an aside, I don't expect lightening or any physical port to exist on the iPhone from 2020 on wards. Besides charging, Apple has very little reason to have it there now that they are well underway in transition to wireless audio. I doubt they particularly want lightening to be a standard long term and I'm sure a similar movement will happen on the Android side. Heck, Apple's even sent out surveys to customers with questions relating to removing the headphone jack from computers.

Back to the headphones, if these didn't support a 3.5mm cable perhaps it'd be a different argument, or if we weren't comparing to $300 wired Momentums, but for $63 I think the Bluetooth headphones give more flexibility and will provide more freedom when buying portable devices even if your current device does support 3.5mm headphones.

  • Holy crap this is such a good deal for these headphones. I just bought the QC35 and I love them, anyone have both??

  • What do you guys think about the Momentum 1.0 On-Ear, its $89 before the 20% discount

    • not good if you want to wear it for more than 30 minutes, painful for the ears

  • Black sold out as when I was about to buy a second one for a friend

    • +1

Yeah I think they pulled the listing. They were only around 72% sold when then it said sold out.

      • +1

Yeah it was showing more than 10 available and 10 minutes later out of stock..

        • Yeah pretty dodgy haha. Only 4 or 5 were sold since it said more than 10 available. I was still undecided when I posted the deal so missed out :(

        • +1

Glad I bit the bullet last night.

  • -1

Is it real or just fantasy? This deal is way too good to be true for the Momentum wireless, other retails for ~$700.

I've heard that Wireless1 also selling refurbished items? can anyone confirm?

    • +1

Do you think refurbished item will be part of the cash back promotion?

      This is clearly brand new

    • If you bothered to check the listing it clearly says brand new.

    • Is it real or just fantasy? This deal is way too good to be true for the Momentum wireless, other retails for ~$700.

Sells for $379 USD on Amazon.com, so this price isn't too hard to believe.

  • Still debating over these and the Bose QC35…

    • If you need great QC, get the QC35 or maybe QC20, 30 which actually works better. If you need great sound with some QC get the Momentum wireless.

  • Hi

I am wearing the headphones for the first time as I am typing this post.

I am in a bus. When bus shakes, I am experiencing some constant strange noise in my right ear cup. It's a muffled noise that sounds like two objects bumping into each other.

If I turn the headphones off this sound goes away which suggest there is no loose object in the headphones. So I assuming this is to do with the noise cancellation functionality. No noise if the bus is not shaking however.

Is it just me or it's some design issue that is common across the board?
