Hello all,
I know many would say why pay so much for a phone. But nevertheless, it's a great local stock price for arguably one of world's best mobile phone.
If you are travelling don't forget to claim GST through TRS. Also, don't forget Cashrewards cashback. In this case your effective price would be $833.82!

First I've heard of it, but TBH I've only ever looked at their site to see grey prices. Not purchased anything from them at all.
Ebay likely around the same I'd say.. if you're game ;)

For some people, the risk is worth saving $200.

    • No, they sell grey import phones and without 2 yr Samsung warranty.

Expensive yes but at least no "BANG" for buck on this one.

Will this blow up and catch fire like the Note 7 and iPhone 7 ??

    BOOOM goes the weasel

    Expensive cherrybomb

      Wrong phone

Surprising how many stupid replies this thread got.

      • A bit sad really. Indicative of how much work Samsung has ahead of them to rebuild their brand though.

Still loving my S7 edge from release! Best phone!

  • How does OP get $833.82? I get $945 with 1.25 cashrewards.

    • +2

      Price $1197
      TRS GST refund -$108.82
      Ebay 20% -$239.40
      CR 1.25% -$14.96

      Total = 1197 - 108.82 - 239.40 - 14.96 = $833.82

      Still too expensive :(

      • Please do note that it's still listed and selling for $1249 on many popular stores like JB,HN etc. So unless I'm missing something $833.82 would be incredible value (for those eligible). After all its not just any other plastic android but S7 Edge. If an outdated iPhone SE selling for $668 can be a deal then this is almost a steal :P :D No offense to my Apple friends :)

I see. I didn't realise he was including TRS. Thanks.

Isn't TRS refund only for overseas traveller? I mean if you don't leave the country you can't get the refund right?

    BooMBastic, Burny Burntastic LOL

    OP you're sure it's a phone not a time-bomb ?

    • Let's be clear that S7 Edge and Note 7 are two different phones. Very different. I don't know who's spreading the myth around. I've personally been using it for seven months (like millions others) without any issue. It's undoubtedly one of the best phone I've ever seen or owned. I would recommend it everyone who can afford it or wants to spend that much on a premium phone.

Righto, I guess the Note 7 is made in North Korea.

  • I know there's an obvious value to be had with local stock but it should be noted that unlike iPhones where prices are relatively consistent between markets, I found the S7 and S7 Edge to vary wildly. I picked up an s7 edge in Singapore (dual sim model too) for $830 SGD (it's roughly 1 to 1 with AUD) so that's food for thought if you're travelling. RRP is closer to $1100 from memory but because the phone is quite old (in the scheme of things) it has a lower street price from shops.

  • Is Samsung running any promotions in conjunction with the release of the new Gear VR (complimentary, $50 or $100 off with Australian purchase of S7)? It would make sense considering the recent loss of goodwill with the Note and the fact they have run similar promotions in the past
