    • +2

It is active and it won't activate unless the card is one that is targeted.

Didn't show up on my DJs AMEX even though I fill up at BP all the time :( (I don't spend $60 in one go though when I fill up)

    • +13

If you go there all the time, then maybe they dont need to give you an incentive to go there.

      • +11

Haha silly OP thinking corporations would reward loyalty.

Please check, you need to spend $60 twice, and you get reward only once :)

        • Oh that makes sense.

      • No, its AMEX offers are random, they use DICE…I got new Explorer card in mail 2 days back, but I didnt get the offer..

        • Usually, they offer Woolworths and David Jones online to new card holders. I don't know why you don't have these offers, maybe check your card again later.

        • @divious:

  • +1

Got this offer in my amex issued card. T&C is attached below, it didn't mention gift card is excluded. Here I come!

Purchase of fuel is included in this offer.

    • Save the offer to your eligible Card and spend $60 or more in one transaction, two times, in-store only at American Express accepting BP locations by 10/11/16 to receive one $20 credit. Limited to the first 7,500 Cards to save the offer.

    • The full generic T&C's does mention gift cards. We all know gift cards have worked in the future and will hopefully continue to work.

      • +18

Please tell us what else you know about the future.

        • +1

          Haha whoops. I meant past.

    • all the offers on my amex issued card have suddenly disappeared (aside from the saved ones) … wonder what's going on?! Definitely can't find one for BP at the moment… will have to wait and see.

  • i dont think i ever buy 60 bucks n fuel at bp, maybe ill start

  • +1

Sounds like you may need to spend $120 to get $20 back.

    • correct. two $60 transactions and you get $20 back

  • +2

I'd need the jerry can to hit > $60, this is worthless to me. Trying to scam you into $3 chocolates :p

    • +1

Or just buy your fuel at the top of the price cycle…

    • Or maybe it's time to fork out for Ultimate/premium fuel "it busts grim in 2 tanks" - damn their brainwashing!

  • +1

Dont forget to swipe the virgin card for points too!

    • +5

Dont forget to swipe the virgin

      Note !!!

I found out last time that you are not able to just scan the bar code.

I don't carry my cards with me anymore, I store the bar codes in my phone. This is the only time they told me it must be swiped, so you must carry the card.

      • +1

Do you use the Stocard app?

        • +1

          yep

      • swipe the virgin

        yes swipe only.

        • Swipe RIGHT!!!

    • Can I insert the Virgin instead, would be more pleasur,,, ah forget it

  • Is anybody getting the error message -
Sorry we are unable to process your request…

    • yup, may be targeted.

    • Yep, same. Pretty ambiguous error message. Naughty Amex…

  • Mini Cooper fail…. 40 Litre tank… damn the cheap price of full

    • Why don't you fill up with ultimate

  • Farking bullshit, because I regularly fill up at BP, I wonder if they deliberately exclude me from the offer.

    • It seems to target cards that haven't regularly been used there in past, e.g. I got the offer for the one card I haven't used there.

  • +1

They are not flexible with their gift card denominations, so my plan is ($10 worth of fuel + $50 gift card) x 2

    • Which gift cards?

    • Be careful as last time they wouldn't let me buy gift cards using credit card and then later they just blocked all gift cards from being sold- i.e. they marked them all as expired.

I would recommend checking before you commit.

      • Not every shop even sells them, but all ought to accept. Did not have any issues last time either buying or using.

      • +2

my bp said the same, so I contacted customer service on recommendation from another ozbargainer.

bp customer service said credit card payments for gift cards are ok, and gave me some free coffee and car wash vouchers.

        • I contacted customer service and they said they should accept credit card although previously it wasn't allowed. When I said you should tell your service stations this, they ignored me. No free coffees or car wash for me. I was just ignored!

        • @bargain_knight:

This was in july this year, may have changed.

          here is the email:

Thank you for contacting BP and raising your concerns.

You are able to purchase BP Gift Cards from a retail site with a credit card, cash or EFTPOS. BP Plus Cards and other fuel cards are not able to purchase Gift Cards.

We do apologise for the inconvenience in this situation - I have raised your feedback to our area manager for BP Wembley so we can re-iterate our correct procedures to our staff.

As a token of our appreciation for your feedback and taking the time to contact us, I have posted some BP Superwash and Wild Bean Coffee vouchers to you.

Thank you again for your feedback.

        • @thydzik: I'm just going to write in to them as well & complain, post the complaint a couple of times, won't even have to drop in to BP. I'll get my BP Superwash & Wild Bean coffee vouchers. BOOM! There's $20 at least twice!

    • $35 of fuel and a $25 gift card would also be an option.

      Wait. That's corporate.

  • +3

16.67% off, not sure worth it given coles/woolies is normally less expensive, and you can pay gift cards.

    • Gift cards that are 5-6% discounted. I think it's worth it.

      • +1

I only compare my local service stations.

        BP was 107.9
        Coles express was 99.9
and that is not including the 4c off voucher.

That's already 12.5% difference without taking into account gift cards.

you can probably find BP a lot cheaper though elsewhere.

        • In Melbourne various brands seem to be the same price. For some monthly cycles Woolworths will become the lowest but this didn't happen last time.

  • My local BP doesn't even accept AMEX (rural WA)

    • I went to bp in Augusta a couple of months ago they gladly rook mine with my velocity card

  • +1

    Anyone have a manual link?

  • +1

Targeted offer i know but..going to check my Card again tomorrow as sometimes these offers take a day or two to appear.

(thanks to the person that put the Dan Murphy manual link on OZB -redeemed today so thanks :) )

  • Any idea which cards are being targeted? ie. Platinum Amex issued etc. If you were targeted, would be interested to know which one you hold?

    • My Qantas branded AmEx received the offer. My Westpac issued AmEx black didn't.

      • What type of Qantas AmEx is it?

        • Discovery

        • +1

          @sween64: I've got a Discovery too. I wonder what segment they're targetting?

        • @timdee: Mine has never been used at BP. Yours?

        • @sween64: That could very well be it. I used this card for the last BP cashback offer.

        • @timdee: Sounds like it. I used my Westpac AmEx for the last BP offer too.

  • +1

Cheers OP was in my offers. Nice surprise while waiting for my last free Grilld burger.

    • Mm. I completed the trio of meats and donated. A good day.

  • +2

Purchasing prepaid recharges is also a good way to hit the $60 instead of / in addition to BP gift cards, if you can't fit it all in fuel or want to fill up elsewhere.
