  • Careful if you have an induction cooker……..

    • Hi jv.

        • Interesting, at the start of the article its implied after releasing the steam she heard a click and it automatically blew the lid off, however at the end of the article its implied that they opened it and the safety pin wasn't extended. “We did nothing wrong the machine unlocked prematurely, it should stay locked and unable to be opened until the pressure is all gone."

        • this was the brand of cooker which exploded in that story https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/72208

I was thinking the same thing, almost like they got impatient and decided to open the lid when not all pressure had been released and were hoping the safety lock would be engaged if it wasn't ready. Even the cheaper pressure cookers have mechanisms where it would be quite difficult for the lid to just unlock, turn 3-4 cms and just blow off.

Jv - Whats wrong with induction? i've used multiple different pressure cookers on induction without a problem, in fact they seem to work very well due to even heat distribution and tend not to burn the bottom contents when reaching pressure.

    • Nothing wrong with induction - in fact induction is better as you can regulate the temperature better compared to gas.

  • Hello local ozbargain friend!

The couple remaining tents and portaloos are also down in price.

  • There were about 10 at Carnegie VIC on Friday arvo. But it was a NO NO for us as they are electric. Unsure why people mentioned induction???
