  • Is this the currently the cheapest TV with HDR? How good is its HDR and will it work over HDMI from Ultra HD blu-ray player like the Xbox One S? Internet searches indicate that does not work on Hisense HDR TV and a firmware update is required but has not been made available?

    • -1

This does not have HDR if you are going to get a hisense i would be getting this.
      https://www.jbhifi.com.au/tv-home-entertainment/hd-televisio…

$100 more 10bit screen and hdr. Rave reviews and best value tv on the market. The one listed in the ad is a old model

      • Huh? The K3300UW does have HDR according to http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/2540051

        • +1

HDR over HDMI has been added in a recent firmware, It hasn't been released in Australia yet, but its easily enough to find the European one.

      • Is it definitely 10-bit?
        I've seen reports claiming 10-bit and 8-bit.

    • Actually the 40" comes to $546.97 pickup after discount and cashrewards http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Hisense-40K3300UW-40-UHD-Smar…

      • I bought the 40K3300W from my closest JB Hi-Fi despite it being only a few dollars dearer (not very OzBargain like I know - hang my head in shame :-) because the sales person was helpful and willing to try/play various HDR demo videos taken from USB flash drives for/out of other HDR TVs on display. The LG and Samsung demo files were not recognised but the ones from a Hisense M7000UWG HDR TV worked and looked good in both the 50" and 40" Hisense K3300UW. Now let's hope I can get it working over HDMI to play HDR blu-ray discs through the Xbox One S.

  • 50hz?

  • Interesting…

Difficult question to answer, but how would this compare to the Aldi one on Sale next wednesday? 55" Bauhn 4K Ultra HD LED LCD Smart TV

Would you buy a Hisense over a Bauhn? Does an extra 5" make a difference?

    • +1

Bought aldi 65inch 4k when it was on sale. Good TV and screen is very good. I will be able to compare both when I receive it but again that will be too late I guess.

    • Does the Aldi Bauhn have HDR? That's the feature I am most interested in.

      • I don't think it does. Doesn't mention anywhere. Is there a way to test?
According to http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/2565368 doesn't look like though.

        • This Hisense is also does not clearly (or at all at/on some/most retailers/sizes) claim the feature but is known to have HDR according to users. What I really want to know is whether the cheaper/small 40" size also have it?

I bought a Bauhn 65in 4K for $799 from Aldi a few weeks ago and it stopped working after 3 days. I have to say the picture quality is by far the worst I have ever seen. Not just color, you have to watch it from perfect 90 degrees angle, otherwise color tune starts to change from 10 degrees away. The dynamic contrast control works very aggressively - dark areas changes from black to dark grey all the time (very disturbing when watching 1.85:1 or 2.35:1 ratio movies). No smart features what's so ever. Maybe what I got was not a working one from day 1 - but my experience with Bauhn 65in 4K model is not very well.

    • This is a very valuable review! Unless you have an axe to grind with Aldi?
