Great price on 75 inch. I got my 75 because of your post on the last Boxing Day. Thank you TRENT86.

    • Plenty of people on OZB have got their TVs thanks to Trents post.

    • Ditto, thanks for posting Trent, was waiting for the price drop and got the 75" this morning

  • Pick up only…..no BingLee option

    • :(

      • There is postage option provided

        • send me to click and collect in mid screen and when i enter the post code say no near by store. thx for the info tho :)

  • Wonder why the 75" W850c is never on sale anymore I too got it from Bing Lees New Years sale and its great for a lower price.

    • I Don't think anyone sells it do they?

  • Good price on the Samsung 70'. Shame there is no delivery option for people who don't live near a store.

  • Dammit i just bought the LG 70UH635T 70" UHD Smart LED 200Hz TV for $2799 from the good guys ebay sale last week. Spewing……

    • no price guarantee on your card?

      • Hmmm possibly but i would have thought ebay would be an exclusion?

        • It is. Needs to be a physical store with 25kms. That's 95% of card price guarantee PDS rules

    • How do you think of the quality of this TV?

      • Love the quality watching 4k. Its pretty crappy with SD foxtel though

        • Did you notice the Dirty Screen Effect that a lot of people is complaining about?

        • @stargalaxy: Nah i didn't

      • I have the TV and picture is excellent. I personally find the local dimming annoying. Because it's edge lit dimming occurs as a beam of light running vertically from top to bottom. This is probably the same complaint for all lcd tvs in general. I like how the box it's packaged in has a shock detector. So you can refused the TV prior to opening if the shock detector says the unit has been man handled. Also the magic remote gets old quick. I'd prefer a regular remote tbh.

I'm looking at KD65X8500D and Sony have it on special at $2797, whereas Bing lee have it at 2,999 (-20%). I wonder does this mean that there's still a chance of it dropping a few more $ before Christmas. I think the new models come out in April, so they may drop after Christmas??

    • Bought this TV last year for $2400 during Boxing box sale. The prices are likely to drop around Christmas.

    • Everything drops after xmas :) the thing to consider is the fact all these TV's from bing lee are being price matched so their prices are already on sale and then it's an extra 20% off :)

Just got a tcl 55" for $800. Maybe waiting a tiny bit would've been worth it.

  • LG 70" UHD TV $2399 best deal listed there! :)

    • But that's 8-bit TV, it's not very useful in 2017.

    • I would pay the extra couple hundred for the Samsung. LG are not the best brand around.

      • YES and NO

Samsung RGB 4k IS better then the cheaper LG RGBW 4k
Samsung RGB 4k uses more power then the cheaper more efficient LG RGBW 4k
LG Software webOS is better then the Samsung OS
LG Magic remove is allot better then Samsung remote.

Samsung has a little less back light uniformity issues overall (% issues) (LCD LED Edge lit back light bleed)

I like LG TV's more overall .. the OS is what you interact with the most and its just drop dead gorgeous and so easy to use. It also plays the most video formats through a USB Hard drive! :)

        • I don't use the smart tv features. I use a Roku 3 so the OS is meaningless to me.

  • has anyone tried price matching or get jbhifi to beat these prices?

    • They won't price match with an ebay coupon code.

So hard to figure out what to buy. Is anyone still opting for FHD? Will oz free to air tv look horrible on a 75" UHD and a complete waste of money? Netflix content would look amazing but not sure whether to go large or just get FHD. Does anyone have any comments on Sony HDR vs Samsung SUHD? So many models out there, it becomes hard to compare!

    • Abc, sbs, seven, nine and ten all have HD channels now. Looks fine tbh.

I've a 70" 4k LG and if I was being honest 4k and 1080p content is only marginally different (it could be the upscaling of the LG however).

  • argh missed jb and tgg sale, I wish they ship to Melb

  • I remember back in March this year I almost pulled trigger on LG 65" FHD when Bing Lee had $1,999 clearance deal. $1,599 for 65UH652 is absolute steal - even this model was $2,999 back in late Sept, so this deal is almost half price. Now I just need to convince the Minister for War & Finance…..

  • So went back to tgg and they couldn't agree to price match binglees on ebay. They said they would have priced matched if only through the website not with eBay discount. Bummer.

  • Says pickup not available until November 3rd on all the TVs I've selected for pick-up in North Shore area stores. Not great if you want it in the next day or two.

  • When is the best time to buy a TV in regards to new models? Do TV manufacturers release new models at a certain time each year or is there no schedule?

    • usually around Mar-Aug new models are released

      • I see. So that would make now a really good time to buy this years models. Thanks Trent!

  • Any opinions on the Sony FHDs?
