  • I know the MLN deal was better but I think this one would be open to everyone not just those in Melbourne… Also, this same deal was posted with $10 postage but this seems to be both in-store and online with their free shipping.

  • fyi the mln deal finishes on 18 july, this iomega is ok but the 500g seagate drive is bigger & has 2 years warranty, worth a pricematch attempt or two

  • Nice price, iomega gear is usually pretty good.

  • 180gb is big difference. im glad i got 1 from OW sydney.

  • Austin Computers had 500GB Samsung S2 for $79 in the email I received Thursday not sure when it runs out as I deleted it but may be worth ringing them if you in WA

  • is there a internal SATA drive or usb only drive in the package?

    • Interested to know too…4200 rpm is all I can find so far.

      what a shit review. (yes it is a review) did you just link to anything with the title of this drive or did you think it was helpful?
      what was said:
      "on a laptop with 1gb ram it transferred a 3 GB file….., desktop with 4gb ram it took about" WTF???
      what does amount of ram a system have compare to how fast the files transfer.

      "mini usb and the other end BIG usb"??? glad to see he knows what he is talking about.(sarcasm)

      his review without the dribble;
      " this is a external hdd i got for xx pounds at xx which was the cheapest found at that store, it comes with everything you need to transfer files to it from a computer with usb ports. there is an extra usb plug on the supplied cable if your computer needs to use it most may not require it. a 3gb file transferred in a reasonable speed from my desktop or laptop."

      what a good review should have is a test bed machine or use hdtune (or simular), show a screen shot of a file transfer, perhaps even how to hook it up, show a file being written and a different one being read from of the same size and a clock showing the speed. etc. nice 2 have a pull apart also (see internal parts and IC's) and specs from it.

      note: sorry if i came across in a bad way. I've recently injured my left hand (reqd surgery) and i'm not my usual self.
