Xbox One Elite Controller for $151.99 Delivered (with Code) @ Mighty Ape eBay

120
CHEER20

Long time lurker, first time poster - be gentle and any feedback is welcome.

Similar to deals in the past - Mighty Ape has the controller at $179.99 with $7.99 shipping, if you use the CHEER20 code it drops to $151.99.
Retails for $200 so this is a pretty good discount.
I am unsure of how this all works with warranties etc, so if that kind of stuff is a worry for you it might be worth looking into a little bit more.

Edit: Listing got taken down, I'm assuming out of stock or something similar.

I'm a bit out of the loop. Do people really pay $150 for a controller?

    • yes from memory they were going for $200+ RRP and there were supply shortages on MS store. I paid $500-600 for an elite console and sold the controller for a couple of a hundred.

      • Usually they're around $170 however it's pretty rare in my experience to see price drops and the cheapest I've seen is $142.

    • Do people really pay $150 for a controller?

Yeah. In it's defence it is a very good controller although it sucks for car games (in my case) unfortunately because analog triggers have very little resistance making it hard to gauge position.

I think very few people will see any benefit from using it over the normal controller other than the shorter trigger pulls for fastt shooters (and the normal controller may well be better for driving games that need analogue accelerator/braking)

    • Yes! I paid $250 for the gears edition. Used it once.

    • The Elite controllers endure so much more than the regular controllers, it's actually cheaper to own a 150 dollar controller than to buy a 50 dollar stock one every year.

I game a lot and most of it is competitive, the analog stick barrier takes a beating like no tomorrow, my stock One controller was grinded out to hell in 6 months, my Elite, I've been playing with for a year, the barriers are still perfectly round. Even if they did erode somehow, you can swap them in and out easy.

The Elite controllers do have some quality control issues, but for the most part it's with the price tag for people that game a lot.

      • Uhhh no, the Elite has a bad rap for breaking. Mine is fine so far but to say it can handle more of a beating is just plain wrong.

        • I don't know what kind of beating you are talking about, but the barrier of the analog is made of metal on the Elite, it's far stronger and hasn't eroded one bit on much more strain.

My stock controller is grinded to shreds just by gears and Halo.

        • @Zylam Marex: I suggest you take a quick look at Reddit /Xbox One and you will see for yourself. The Inner workings are the exact same as the regular controllers so the sticks often begin to drift also the bumpers snap off.

the Elite controllers aren't produced very well, check out the Amazon reviews for lots of reports of defects.

  • If you can find one of the Forza 6 controllers on sale, you can't go wrong IMHO.

The tactile feel, the rubberised grip and the triggers make it and excellent allrounder..

Excellent for car games, and I find it great to use for FPS as well.

    Just my opinion is all.

    • Looks like this is a normal gen2 controller with some rubber grip inserts. I can't see any other written differences.

It's a good price but it's the skillz that get the killz.

Not always… I was a casual gamer for a couple of hours a week with an ordinary controller. I bought an Elite and within a week I was on pro MLG tours.

      :)

I already have the skillz. But other people have the skillz AND this controller

  • Make sure you get a $60 component kit to go with it! :/ https://ebgames.com.au/xbox-one-218718-Gears-of-War-Componen…

That said, I wouldn't mind shorter paddles for the bottom paddles. They are a bit too long.

  • Thanks, I had been waiting for a bargain on the Elite Controller!

  • Good deal to combine those $100 ebay vouchers with

  • Traded in my xbox one controller today at EB, he was like wow what for, and I said it was for the elite controller for $150 on ebay…
He said he can get it cheaper than this with his employer discount and even quoted the price :(

I asked how much to buy a pre-owned controller since it wasn't on the site and he said 130 something if you want an extra $10~ savings on a used one.

    • It's actually $160 with EB staff card.

      • Assuming brand new otherwise he must've been talking about the pre-owned :x

If it's 160 for a used one, he probably said it to make me jelly cause I said I bought it from ebay~

        • Yeah $160 brand new with staff 20% off discount. A friend got me one recently.

        • @Where's_That_Cake:
Phew that makes alot more sense now if he did that for the pre-owned.

Please don't say anything bad about it to make us regret the purchase :(
          Best controller ever yes!

With Xbox Scorpio releasing 2017, these controllers will soon be obsolete for this gen console.

Afaik the Scorpio is going to go along side the Xbone and S and will work with all of the current peripherals.
