@onetwothree: Sorry, just because you don't think it's a deal that doesn't make you right. This is a community that decides on the definition of a deal, and there are guidelines. This fits the criteria, and as such, there are 56 upvotes and it is on the front page. Your neg is invalid :) Too bad!

  • Where did you find there's an extra 10% off? Is it shown on flyers in store like last time?

And for those nay-sayers - paint at 60% off plus an extra 10% (yes, I know its not 70%), is still cheap by anyones standards. Our local masters still has some bargains. Mostly outdoor furniture, gardening, paint, Storage, and since its not hot yet - cooling fans and swimming pool gear!

    • +1

Since it's not hot yet? Bloody hell

      • Well its not! Melbourne Spring is yet to stabilise into any semblance of warmth and we keep getting wintery days.
Maybe I should have clarified for those who live in NT or somewhere else thats nice and warm.

        • +1

Gold Coast is pretty mental right now. Nothing like NT though.

  • % off doesnt really apply, since the "original" prices are all fake with markups anyway.
Still, if you can get into one without too many inconvenient u-turns it is worth a look, just google the item first to see how much real discount you are getting if any.

Bollocks, prices can easily be verified with Google cache. Your lies on the OP other hand…

    • The original price is for the most part the RRP.

Just came back from Oakleigh. They have wireless energy monitors $25

Picked up a stack of pipe insulation. They've sold out of all 1/2" ID, but had plenty of the 3/4" ID, 1/2" thick for $1.43 a meter

Somewhat surprising was that all of the ego stuff has sold out. They still have 1 each of the mower, line trimmer, and chainsaw, but they are display models.

  • +3

Masters knoxfield has the following Ego products left

-about 15 of the st1300e skin only
    - 2 of the st1200e with no battery
    - 1 of the st1500e with no battery or charger
    - about 8 of the cs1400e

  • Can you still combine this 5% off e-gift wish cards ?

    • yes

      • just wanted to double check, masters logo has been removed from recent e wish card purchases…

  • Any air con splits left? In VIC

    • +1

doubt it, nothing in eastern suburbs at all, went weeks ago

  • +1

Yaaaassss. $8100 sausage sanga drone delivered.

  • Does anyone know if there is any EGO Chainsaw skin only CS1400e left in the Box Hill store?

    • +1

There is plenty at the knoxfield store as of about an hour ago.

      • Thanks…but am not too close to Knoxfield atm. If someone could update the stock level for Box Hill, that would be much appreciated!

        • +2

I was there on the weekend, and the only Ego stuff left was a couple of the line trimmers that had no batteries or box. I was pretty shocked when I saw the amount of stuff left at Knoxfield. Without the battery (or charger), it's not really worth it for me

        • @supasaiyan: Thanks heaps!!Will head off to Knoxfield now.

Went to Masters the other day and Bunnings' prices were still cheaper.

    • You've got to wonder what's going on there. Are their costs that much higher than Bunnings? Or were they just charging a huge markup on everything and wondering why nobody bothered driving further to their more expensive stores?

  • It's pretty bleak at my local (Box Hill South, VIC). Shelves are quite empty. The line trimmers still haven't hit the price I want. I did manage to pick up 15L of exterior paint for $90.

  • -2

If you can't find what you are after at Master, try Bunnings. Their prices have been consistently cheaper for most things throughout the masters closing down sale. (Guess we know why masters went out of business)

Bollocks, name some products that are cheaper at Bunnings when the equivalent is discounted by between 40 and 70% at Masters. I bet you won't come back with everything because it's yet another lie from someone with an axe to grind.

      • +1

I agree with Maverick, I'm not sure what is as expensive as Bunnings?? And when we ask for examples, none are provided.

        • And when we ask for stock, none is provided.

          Fixed. :)

        • @StewBalls:

I went shopping for Shade Cloth, Small Fluorescent light to put above my work bench.

          Both were cheaper at bunnings.

  • Masters Albion Park doesn't have a whole lot left.

  • Master's at Albion Park is definitely running out of things to sell. I would be surprised if it doesn't close early (but I assume if the lease and the staff are paid up to the 11th Dec it will stay open?)

The garden section and lighting section are closed. There's still lots of bath tubs (but at $1600 after discounts it's not exactly an impulse purchase)

Pots, generators, some tools, paint, quite a bit of some lines and almost none in others.

I was wondering if they'd actually sold the stock locally or had it moved to another store.

We spent about $130 today on various bits and pieces.

They had some Kobalt gear still (sadly no chainsaws) but i still can't justify $270 (or ~$245ish after the 10% off) for a leaf blower to match our mower.. (If it was $150 I'd have gone for a line trimmer.. )

Also still have wesco and MGS lawn mowers.

    • +1

Yeah the Kobalt 80v stuff was on clearance for 50% off before the closing sale started and it went back up to rrp. There is a few blowers and brush cutters at my local that if they make it to 60-70% off I will be interested in but if not won't be interested. Most of the other brands have sold out but I suspect these are still to expensive for impulse buys for most.

What's up with Maverick-au? I read most of his comments and it sound like he is one grumpy dude. I'm sure he is trying to help but his comments sound negative and at times disrepectful.

    • +6

      Quote from Top Gun..

Iceman: "Maverick, it's not your flying, it's your attitude. The enemy's dangerous, but right now you're worse. Dangerous and foolish. You may not like who's flying with you, but whose side are you on?"

    • +1

Lol upset that they are closing. I did across some things which were the same price as bunnings compared to masters such as ceiling fan lights which one model was 30 today and bunnings had a hpm model for 29. Sure they are different brands. There were honda fuel containers which were over 12 dollars and sold out. Bunnings has a different brand for 9.99 all the time. Personally i checked the prices at bunnings before i got an item. Weed roundup gel is under 9 dollars at masters 15.80 at bunnings. Raincoat 20litres 66 dollars masters 185 at bunnings. The neta platinum 30m garden hose was 135 now under 80, however not many stores would have any left. I saw a mitre 10 ad last year which sold it for 89, so have to wonder about the 135 original price. Can get descent gardena or nylex hose for around 80 to 100 at bunnings so not a big deal.

    • Either he is s share holder in the new owners, or the old owners or something else, but surely has some connection. Has too much inside knowledge for an everyday buyer, should be made a rep!

    • +3

Ha. Maverick is dismayed by the attitude of people on these forums. He believes that this sale is a major opportunity to score some quality items at big discounts, but it requires a small amount of effort to find them, which many people are clearly not willing to put in. This frustrates him. Frustration leads to anger, which looks for an external target to attack, which results in sharp edged comments.

The irony is that maverick responds this way because he finds the comments on these posts negative, and at times disrespectful. I am inclined to agree at times, at least partially.

      Funny, don't you think?

      • Na

But, your both trying to fight negativity, by using negativity, then acting surprised when a small piece of the negativity gets on you.

"What? How dare you dump your negativity on me. I am going to spray you with negativity, and keep spraying, until all this negativity shit is gone! I'm drawing a line!"

Come on, its a little funny :P

        • +1

          @outlander: wow man,
          its like blowing my mind
          It's the negativity man
Maybe in my next life I will be better
Or I may come back as a hamburger,
          and be one with everything

        • @Beach Bum:

          It's the negativity man

          Worst superhero ever

      • It's a funny thought process. However, I guess it keeps things interesting on this forum and a bit of conflict is good.

  • "Built 52cc Straight Shaft Line Trimmer including blade & line heads" now apx $108 inc the latest 10% off at the register till sunday.
Considering the huge number going out the door, could a genuine owner/user please comment.

Also any thoughts on the 3m x 3m $531 and 3.6m x 3.6m $700 Hardtop Gazebos. Possibly Alsynite type roof.
Does the 3.6m have roof ventilation.
    Why is 3m apx 92kg & 3.6m apx 77kg.
Will Alsynite roofing stand up to storms/hail.
Under normal circumstances what's the Gazebos overall life expectancy.

    • FWIW, I was at masters yesterday returning something, and the guy in front of me was returning the line trimmer, (and I quote) "is very under powered" is what he was telling the attendant

      • isn't it strictly no returns?

        • +2

No, they still have to return faulty items. I purchased a plug in sensor light earlier in the week, didn't work at all when I tried it at home. They tried it in store and it didn't work, refunded my money (they didn't have any more stock)

        • @supasaiyan:

I returned a toolbox that was faulty (had a massive dent in it when I took it out of the cardboard box). They had no replacement stock but still would not provide a refund only exchange for other item(s) totalling the original cost (I returned it over a week after as I didn't open it until then).

I would suggest opening boxes and testing the item as soon as you leave the store (if applicable).

          @abc:

          https://m.masters.com.au/diy-projects-ideas/support-help/ret…

They're still bound by the ACL. The girl asked me if I wanted a replacement or refund, but I already looked and there was none, so I asked for a refund

But yes, I agree (depending on the item) you should check it before leaving the store

  • Are there any shade sails or shade cloth left?

    • Not at mine

    • At Box Hill, next to what WAS the line trimmer section, was a huge gazebo for $50ish.
