uh I thought these guys have gone into administration?

  • -6

Yes, they have. They closed the store in Brand Smart. Can someone confirm there is no risk to buy?

    • Maybe you should remove that neg mate?

  • The risk is buying before they go into administration, the company is now under the control of administrators so you are fine

    • Yes, this. At bottom of page "Copyright 2016 © Pumpkin Patch Ltd (in receivership and administrators appointed.) "

  • No returns unless faulty.

  • Your probably get better discounts in store

  • Thanks OP. Got some threads for the boy for summer.

  • I tried to cancel my last order but I was put on hold for 30 mins. They won't process paypal orders.

    • That's a warning you'd think.

      • Just got this email.

Update on your recent order: You may have read in the media that we are in receivership. We are still trading and accepting online purchases via credit cards. Unfortunately we have not been able to resolve the issues with PayPal.

Please contact our Customer Service team before 18th Nov 2016 to re-process your order with an alternate form of payment if you would still like to receive your items. Please note that we cannot change the items, price or delivery address of the order at this stage. If we do not hear from you by 18th Nov we will assume you would like your order cancelled. Your PayPal account will not be charged.

Thank you for being a loyal customer!

        Regards,
        The Patch Crew

Should I risk it and pay by credit card or cancel it altogether.

        • I paid by credit card during the last sale and got my delivery fine. My friend placed an order the same time as me and paid by PayPal and also got the same email you got.

It won't be that much of a risk paying by credit card. You can always do a chargeback if you don't get your delivery

        • I had 2 Paypal orders. Cancelled one and put the other on credit card. The credit card parcel came through just fine. The issue is Paypal had a whole heap of pre auths with them and even after 2 weeks of negotiation they couldn't come to an agreement so Pumpkin Patch is just cancelling those orders.

  • They don't return or refund no more even with proof of docket
    So shop wisely

They used to have the dumbest (business wise) return policy on the planet. You could return, with no receipt, used and abused clothes years after they were sold for an in store credit. If you kicked up a fuss, you could get a cash refund without proof of purchase if the goods were unused. Unsurprising their business model didn't work out for them.

      • That people could simply go to a bunch of op-shops, pick up some used PP clothes and then replace them in-store with new ones makes me cringe.

        • Yeah, it's pretty bad. I don't think any "dirty" items were returned to the floor, at least not in the shop I based my understanding off. A big issue was people stealing clothes and returning them to other stores, with tags, for refunds. It's just a matter of how much you'll press staff until "we can't offer monetary refunds without receipts" becomes "cash or card?".

People seem to do weird things though. A few weeks ago, I saw a woman with a baby at Costco. She wrapped her baby up with a random blanket and the child was asleep. When she got to the cash register, she handed the staff the blanket and said she didn't want it. They didn't even say anything. The baby probably dribbled all over it and could have potentially done worse. I guess the lesson behind it is, always wash new things.
