  • They just matched HN sale not long ago. Good sale none the less.

This really isn't a good TV. The m7000 series can hold its own with the big boys. Either save you money for a sub $2000 deal on the 65m7000 or wait for the 20% goodguys eBay discount and get the 55 m7000 for $1040.

can u elaborate on how it isnt good? not being a jerk, i legitimately am naive, cheers'

I presume he's referring to HDR…the lack of which doesn't necessarily make this a bad set, it just means that like most currently on the market, it simply doesn't have that feature…it's also nearly $1k cheaper ATM.

yeah that's a turn off for me too - waiting for xbox scorpio so will want HDR

Yep, apologies, I was writing from my mobile. There has been a big jump up in quality from Hisense this year. Going and looking at the two models side by side in store will help. Here's the reviews of the M7000 series for confimation. Despite not having the necessary brightness for the new HDR standard the reviews tend to suggest that the picture quality is as good as, if not better than the Samsung and LGs. Not counting the LG OLEDs that is. The only worry seems to be blurring on fast moving scenes but this seems to be an issue with all LCDs and that's why I'm still on my Panasonic plasma from 2012 (I watch a lot of sport!). Still if I was going to bite the bullet, it would be the M7000 series.

The other reason that I trust the m7000 more is that you can find so many official reviews. This isn't the case for the old models nor most of the Samsung and LG TVs. That's mainly because they stupidly use different model numbers in every country. That just doesn't make sense unless you're trying to hide something.

          Good work thanks

        • cheers for that, appreciate it

umm you can actually now get HDR out of HDMI 3 and 4 with french firmware if you fiddle https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=2540051&…

      Mon Dieu!!!

      Très Bien…

        Sacré bleu, mon ami!!!

    • Hmm can you then set language to English?

    • Indeed but the 65" version of the K3300UW model appears to be the only size for which there is no firmware download and that is why I bought the 55" (during the recent Good Guys 20% eBay sale) known to able to do HDR over HDMI albeit unadvertised/unsupported by the manufacturer.

      • Hi mate can you PM me a link for it and/or any other useful info? GF's folks got a 55" K3300 i need to setup :)

  • Also be aware that the 70M7000 is only 330 nits so if this is what you are comparing to the big boys it wont stand up to 1000 nits. 65" would probably be similar

    • +2

Nits? They have medical shampoo's for that….

      • Nit —- 1 nt (nit) = 1 cd/m2

    • This is the 3 series not the 7 series…

The 65" 7 series BTW has 420nits peak brightness.

      • It has 420nits as well.

      • blaze it

      • Yep no problems, 330/420 are pretty close. Not an issue for me but quite a bit off 1000 nits OR 1000 cd/m2

  • Just picked this up from good guys. Great deal!

    • How much did u pay for it?

      • +1

$1395. Price matched when I was there this morning.

they are basically JB now anyway :)

  • Would have been <$1200 in eBay sale at Goodguys. I'd wait for another sale if you want this one.

  • Just setup a 55inch one of these from goodguys ebay sale. Very good value for money id have to say. Tempted to get one myself to replace old bedroom SD plasma!
