What virtualisation does it operate under? Xen?

    • Hi Joshuah,

Short answer is: All of them.

Details are that the entry-level "Budget" Cloud VPS use OpenVZ based Containerisation, "Value" Cloud VPS (which are a bit like the original Value VPS" Plans on our www site) use Xen (thus have dedicated RAM), the "Professional" Cloud VPS are KVM based and the "Business" Cloud VPS are also Xen based.

      Regards,
      Richard.

I've had a VPS with these guys for at least a year, and it has been very stable..Speeds are as advertised.. Other than some oddities with logins for their website, it's been generally trouble free.

OzBargain is also a customer of Network Presence and Richard (who does not seem to need sleep) has always been helpful.

As in parts of ozbargin are hosted by Network Presence?
If so that is a glowing endorsement!

      • +2

None of the front-facing part, but we write micro-services and some of them get deployed on their VPS.

  • What CPU's do these servers use? I noticed that it shows clock speeds but I'm interested in other factors too.

    • Hi sebshot,

All vCPUs are provisioned from varieties of Intel Xeon based CPUs currently.

If you have a specific requirement, please do email us (sales AT networkpresence.com.au) and we'll be happy to discuss specifics.

      Regards,
      Richard.

      • Funny i have a few screenshots from two years ago of a I7 3770 on the VPS i used.
Glad to see its all xeons now.

        • +1

Funny enough, some people prefer those other non-Xeon CPUs & we're happy to customise where we can, but for this range of VPS Plans, it's Xeons.

'Horses for Courses' in many things Beerforkids.

          Regards,
          Richard.

          @netpres:

I hope i didn't at all sound rude or mad.
Exactly sometimes that works and while i had a second vps with you it worked wonders over the xeon
for certain applications. Nice to know you guys are still customizing and do what you can for the customer :)

        • @netpres: Are the new Xeon CPU's W, X, E or L series specifically? Are they of the latest generation?

Do you guys support TUN/TAP on your VPS?

    • +1

      Hi Praeto,

Yes, certainly. It's configured to be available for all these plans, if you find it isn't, just drop us a Ticket and we'll manually enable it for your relevant VPS if req'd.

      Regards,
      Richard.

@netpres, Thanks for an awesome deal.

Just wondering if you guys offer a managed VPS for a Cpanel / WHM type of reseller?

    • Hi mmavrick,

I think that our cPanel VPS Plans may suit your requirements there, and they do include a "Managed" option, though by default we do make ourselves available to help cPanel VPS customers with setup and other usage queries anyway.

Let me know if that ticks this box for you, regards,
      Richard.

  • Hi Richard,

Could you please explain why when adding "Professional Cloud" (Starting from $24.95AUD Monthly) into the cart, it only shows up with 3 CPU cores?

The listing clearly advertises "4 @ min 2 GHz", and to obtain 4 cores, I would need to pay an extra $2/month.

    http://imgur.com/a/UpTDy

Would that mean selecting the 5 CPU core option would become an additional $1/month instead of $3/month?

If I'm not wrong, could you please amend these changes?

    Invoice #3150
    Order Number: 4150906475

    Thanks.

    • Hi Kewok,

Happy to look into it for you, but please raise a Ticket in the Client Area so we can work through it there.

      Thanks,
      Richard.

      • Done, Thanks.
