        Congrats, my favourite TA :)

        • TA, congrats favourite my… monorail…. doh!

        • @UFO:
Is there anyone received item? I ordered last week, still not send out yet…

  • +2

their Samsung USB 3.0 Flash Drive BAR 128GB is $45 delivered without any code???

    • thats because it is on sale

    • nevermind

    • Harvey Norman regularly has these for $28 or $29. They aren't very fast though, for a USB 3 stick.

      • actually much faster than the average and quite fast in general especially for this price/capacity
very good on keyring with very high built quality and durability

        • +1

Depends what you're comparing it to I guess.

The other USB3 sticks I have murder this.

        • +1

@lostn: Examples of better USB3 sticks please?

        • +4

@ifonlyiwasyounger: I have.. Samsung dual USB, Sandisk Extreme, and Sandisk Extreme Pro.

The samsung dual USB is somewhat faster and more useful. The Sandisks totally kill it. They are about the same price when not on special. But I don't think you'll get an Extreme or Extreme Pro on sale for this price.

Also the PNY Elites from Amazon are a lot faster than this.

There are a lot of better sticks than this. But I'm not saying it isn't worth $22. I'm just saying don't get too excited by its performance. It's pretty average. Also gets very hot.

        • +2

          @lostn:

Yep. It looks alright in benchmarks but is pretty horrible in real life usage.

For anyone wondering, I did some benchmarks and "real life usage" tests a while back, outlined here.

        • +1

          @ifonlyiwasyounger:

Sandisk Extreme USB3 Flash, rated at 245MB/s read speed.

I've got a Sandisk Extreme USB3 16GB here serving as my Windows 10 install media and boy does it install Windows 10 from it super fast.

        • @donnot: Sandisk are the best. I always buy them when they're on special. I have enough to make a necklace out of them.

          It's a shame they don't make 256GB or 512GB.

        • @lostn:

Why would you ever want/need a USB flash drive with that capacity?

        • @tranqme: Convenience. And if you are someone who transfers large amounts of data (which I am).

It's no good having a super fast USB stick and not being able to put much onto it before needing to change stick. And it's much easier to organize if you know everything is all in one place.

        • @tranqme:

640Kb ought to be enough for anybody, right?

        • @tranqme: the same reasons people would buy 2TB or larger portable hard drive. Some people would like to carry their entire porn collection with them at all times.

  • +12

man great price, normally i would just buy cheap sd cards, but if i look a little to the left of my monitor, i can see about 5 of them in sight (2 unopened)

  • +2

Good stuff, TA. I'll get one of each considering the few times I need either, my others are being used already!

Good deal. But the customer service experience is pretty bad from ShoppingExpress. Got my logitech G810 keyboard went faulty, emailed them, no respond the whole week except an email asking for Serial number. This email was sent after I gave them a call complaining about the respond speed of customer service. Then total silent again. In that complain call, they even want me to contact logitech to solve the problem. But I bought the keyboard from them! I'll keep waiting for their respond to see how bad the customer service could be.

    • Yep that does not surprise me from SE. I purchased a Microserver from them and when it arrived DOA they wanted me to go though HP for warranty. When they have your money they don't give a crap.

  • +2

    Thanks TA

  • +3

    Ta TA.

  • Anyone else just looks that TA has posted and instantly thinks it's going to be a good deal without even reading what it is ?

    • +2

      No.

    • +1

I hope you mean because you already know it's going to be exceptionally awesome

    • Not only do I think it's going to be great, but with it comes the responsibility of buying it. I bought the 16Gb micro SD card. What the hell am I going to do with it? Does anyone really need a $5 16Gb micro SD? All our phones are either 64gb or 128gb. Good news is that there is a perfect spot next to the Eneloops. The only good thing to come out of Dick Smith's undeserved demise.

  • +1

TA- good work thanks so much we Oz bargain community owe u a lot

    • -4

      We don't "owe" him anything.

  • Anyone used their voucher yet?

  • +1

Thank you TA for this deal - just bought one as a gift for a co-worker who just needs a reasonably sized sd card for his phone to store music —- will go quite well with a bluetooth headphone/headset adapter I bought to go with it! One Christmas gift sorted!

    • RIP

      OzBargained out.

  • +1

    Congrats TA!

Did some benchmarks and comparison with the SanDisk Extreme 32GB against the 64GB Samsung a while back here for anyone wondering. Not a bad USB at this price, but don't have too high expectations.

  • +1

Thankyou TA for your dedication. Love your work.

  • All praise the tight one!

  • own the samsung bar, do not expect high speed, but enough for general usage. but again, 64G you want high speed…..

    • I have the 32GB version and the write speed is 25MB per second.

      • Isn't that worse than usb 2.0?

        • It's less than the possible bandwidth of USB2. But not all USB2 sticks can saturate the 60MB/s bandwidth. Most can read faster than they write, but the write speed is 4MB/s for some of the cheaper ones like Verbatim.

        • @lostn: i thought usb2.0 is 30MB/s max?

        • No, most USB 2.0 drives write up to 12.5MB/s.

        • @Hornpub: The max transfer speed for USB 2.0 is 480 Mbps, which is 60MB/s.

That doesn't mean that USB 2.0 sticks will reach that maximum speed. Most will not.

        • @lostn: That's without considering parity bits and overheads. In reality even the fastest sticks max out around 30-32 MB/s.

        • @lostn:

Yeah, and in my life time experience, 30MB/s is what I get for usb 2.0
