  • Isn't it better for the community if people use the referral system here instead to get the same but also give someone else a free month too?

Apparently you can double dip so 2 months free

      • How do you stack the referral with another free month?

It's limited to 10/1 megabits, which is disappointing…I'd seriously consider taking this up if they allowed proper 4G speeds.

Also, their AUP is rather Orwellian.

It's great if your ADSL connection is shit. I've been using Vivid on LTE for a few months and it's been fantastic. My old ADSL connection was 3 down/0.5 up, but now I'm getting solid 10Mbps for a unlimited internet at a fairly reasonable price. This should hold me over until the NBN comes to my suburb.

I haven't experienced any problems with the acceptable use policy over the past year and a bit. Last month I used 600GB with no dramas. I'm not a big torrenter, but when I have torrented my experience with Vivid LTE is that they genuinely deprioritise the torrent traffic at peak times, but there's usually enough there to get in excess of 500KB/s.

Here's a screengrab of one I'm doing right now just as a test - http://imgur.com/a/pGHlA

      • That's excellent, I am on the fringe of the Brisbane CBD and can only achieve 12mbit, so I can imagine a service like this is a lifeline for those with gen 1 adsl speeds.

What really got me is the part of their AUP where they try & enforce a moral code on users - obviously there are provisions for illegal activity - but the bit about not espousing certain views or attitudes seems draconian in the least.

      • Yep. We moved into our new place a month ago, but the estate is on a RIM. The neighbours reckon they're lucky to crack 3Mbps. I tried out Optus Home Wireless for the last month - that was excellent service! 12/1 solid service. Not once did it drop out, BUT the 200gb allowance is paltry. Even trying my best to hold back we went over. Giving Vivid a shot now to see if it'll be enough to tide us over until they figure out what they're doing with NBN in my area -_-

  • Are there any alternatives to Vividwireless, specifically in the Canberra region?

  • Not sure if you can call this a deal. Just buy a 2nd hand vivid modem and when you sign up a new account you get your 2nd month free anyway. Only applies to new accounts.

  • if you buy from GG ebay store apply the code C20TGG for 20% the modem at least if you want to go month to month

  • still valid?

  • Anyone want a month free? I'm about to sign up.
