  • So is this one time thing ? I mean what If I go to Myers twice before end date and spend more than 150$ , would i get 25$ back for 2nd time ?

    • +1

      No once only.

  • Will it work ? Buy group myer gift card ( from myer ), go to coles, buy westfield GC, pay with group myer gift card ( from myer ) ? self checkout for sure.

    thanks

    • surely that woudnt work as you are not using Amex to pay for the Westfied GC…. I might be wrong though

    • surely that woudnt work as you are not using Amex to pay for the Westfied GC…. I might be wrong though

    • +1

It might, but not sure what you want to achieve rather than wasting ur time. If ur goal is to buy Westfield GC, just use the Westfield offer. Buying it using another gift card, won't trigger additional cashback (u need to pay with Amex as the deal is for). Myer Coles gift card is probably as easy as Westfield to spend.

      • I have 15 amexes. Trying to get as many westfield GC. And use them all at Chanel bag for missus :)

Westfield Promo only can get me $1500

        Chanel cost $7000.

        • With 15 you can easily save $1350 (Minus some fees). Use your brain

        • +5

          Chanel cost $7000.

          You're not Ozbargaining correctly.

        • +2

Westfield are checking ids, at least they are in chatswood. Rude too.

        • @googoogaga: Yep. Maybe a lot of fraud?

        • +1

@Turd: I don't know, first time being asked for ID for a purchase that was only $102.95. It had already required pin too.

I don't know how people scam nowadays, but I highly doubt if they had a stolen credit card or identity fraud, that they would bother getting cash-back with an amex deal.

        • +1

          @googoogaga:

Identity fraud and stolen cc happen regardless of cc cashbacks, most stores check ID if it seems suspicious regardless of cashbacks. Stores know cc Thieves aren't after the money/cashbacks, they're after the product, hence these measures to protect themselves

  • For Myers it says 'Exclude online Gift Cards'. So its ok to go to store and get them though?

    • probably because online myer-coles giftcards are eligible for MyerOne points and in-store myer-coles giftcards aren't

    • I bought an in store $150 Coles myer gift card and got the amex cash back acknowledgement email almost straight away.

    • Yes, I did this today and got the email instantly

  • Ah I just spent over $150 at Myer yesterday! Does anyone know if I'll be able to return my item and buy it again?

    • +1

I am sure you can return them as long as it's not used.

    • I don't see why not, providing ur item can be returned (they have few exclusions, like quilt probably can't, for hygiene reason)

    • unless $150 was myer-coles giftcard, you can

    • +3

tell them you use the wrong credit card. You are using corporate credit card rather than your personal.

    • Thanks everyone :)

  • +1

Bought $100 XS card ($104.95 after the fees) using Apple Pay.
Got the email for mobile transaction $10 rebate straight away, but didn't get the email for $25 rebate.
But not too worry as I never had an issue with the rebates

EDIT: This was at Pitt St Sydney. They were very organised and everyone had their amex on the line. Waited less than 2 minutes

    • Nice! I tried to get $400 with 4 cards but they lady didnt understand and was like wtf.. and I used samsung pay and she didnt understand too, had to do 4x$102.95. Oh well!!

Free money is free money, and yes waiting for the cashbacks from Westfields, The Samsung pay one came instant.

Probably coz it's linked to AMEX. Westfields like Harvey Normans can be dodgy with their payment systems.

      • Where was this at? Yes, Free money is free money. I will go down later and do more of $100 each, but your idea is better if they let you split payment

        • +1

Chastwood. A few others there too.

Myer's is great the people and staff are friendly and allow you to do mutiple cards on the one gc.

      • She just play dumb, haha. So she can charge u $8.85 extra.

        • +3

Yep. Unfortunately. So that is life. Dumb people making others pay more, aka Telstra aka NBN etc etc…

      • +1

I went down and had no problems at Sydney. I didn't even realise you could split payments until the lady suggested it

    • Just bought another $100 but this time just normal gift card with $2.95 charge.
Same result - got $10 rebate email straight away but no sign of $25 rebate email - hopefully rebate is applied automatically and I don't have to ring them to manually credit $25

    • Were all the cards in your name? The lady didn't accept my wife's card..

      • +1

I used Apply Pay where they can't see any names…

  • The site is getting ozbargained… taking forever to load

  • Can we use Westfield Gift Card with Woolwoths / Coles online?

    • +2

      no

    • +2

Gerry Harvey is a cheapskate, Managers working there are unfriendly and unwilling.

    • +1

Not very strong amex deals???? This is the first time that Westfield gift cards appeared in AMEX offers and they are super versatile! When I saw these offers this morning I forced myself out of the bed and painfully saved the offers one by one onto my AMEXs..

    • +2

      20% woolies online
      25% off Westfield cards
23% off myer which you can use for coles cards
      What more do you want?
      This is like free money.

  • +1

Can we cash out Westfield XS Eftpos gift card?

    • good question, keen to know too.

    • +1

No, they can't be redeemed for cash.

    • +1

      No

  • Westfield Sydney wouldn't accept my wife's card as it's not in my name

    • +1

This is to prevent fraud, maye try another store

    • Sorta makes sense don't you think? But try it out another day - it's really dependent on the staff you get

    • As othrs said it makes sense to avoid fraud.
Maybe try using it at the other conceirge desk located towards QVB, next to the T2 store.
I assumed you tried purchasing at the conceirge desk near Pitt st mall.

      • Yes it was the concierge desk near Pitt St mall near MS store.. Just wanted to give anyone a heads up trying supplementary cards..

      • May I ask which T2 store you are referring to exactly? When I look on google maps there are about 3 in that area…

  • +2

Purchased $400 Westfield XS gift card split across 4 cards in Airport west Melbourne. Received 4 confirmation emails from Amex instantly. Thanks for the nice deal.

    • +1

Did you tap and go or inserted the card?

      • One through Apple Pay to use mobile wallet promo ( received confirmation for this one as well) and other three payWave.

        • oic…

will have to wait I guess…

    • Does it mean you pay only one service fee? because it is ONE $400, and split payment only.

      • +1

yes, $404.95 including the service fee.

    • i went twice and both times the stuff there said no to split payment! not happy!

  • Purchased a Westfield XS gift card as well with no confirmation email from AMEX yet. Guess will have to do a manual follow up in a few days!

  • Same thing happened to me. Where do you go to sort it out?

    Thanks.

    • Wait up to 5 days

      • Ok, will do.

  • Has anyone purchased the XS card online and received a email notification from Amex?

    • even purchased from Westfield SC, no email received

anyway, the online charge (handling fee plus delivery fee is too much), I spent like 30 minutes went to the SC

  • Can anyone confirm if purchase of Rebel $50 gift card is eligible for the $20 rebate? Thanks

    • +1

      Yes

      • What about eGift? it appears to be via a different portal rather than rebel.com.au

        • +1

Probably not then if different portal. Buy instore. Best

  • Bought normal westfield GiftCard from Westfield sydney , Not get any cashback or offer redemption email. I check with Amex customer care to my surprise they said Westfield Sydney is excluded from this offer :(

    • Sydney is a BIG area. Which part> Some say Penrith is "Sydney".

Just wait up to 5 days and check your online banking statement for credits?

      • I bought it from
        Westfield Sydney
        Pitt St & Market St
        Sydney

        • Anyone who bought it from Pitt St got the email?

    • Surely not, given Westfield Sydney address is the top one when you click on "where to redeem".

      • haha

Sounds like one customer service person doesnt know what they are talking about or thinks "Sydney" is not allowed.

      • yes exactly I told him so .. now he raised it with offers team ..they ll come back to me soon.

normally we get offer redemption email immediately but here is no email & no update in mobile amex app.

  • +1

Simple question… can I use westfield gift card to buy Myer/coles gift card in Myer?

    • Sneaky sneaky… would like to know too

    • I asked one of myer staff, she said I cant purchase gift card with another gift card.

      • Yes, that is the policy however I had been able to purchase coles myer gift card with myer gift card before. It really depends on the staff.

        • +1

I remember trying this and even being a little difficult and insisting the assistant try it (and I was confident in being able to get her to try, because she wasn't confident).

The system seemed to be what was disallowing it. It's not staff dependent. The system picks up that it's a Myer gift card and doesn't allow it to go through.

This was about 6 months ago.

        • @illumination: Thanks, I only want discounted coles card so I guess I won't be getting the westfield gift card then…

  • +4

Some westfields are reported to check IDs now.

If you are going to use supplementary cards, the best option is probably to save all the cards into mobile wallets (I used Apple Pay)

The card holder names are not visible on the mobile payment page, only available if they know how to do it (a lot of them don't). The lady that served me gave up checking and just went ahead with payment.

Hopefully you don't have to bring your wifes/mises/pets for payment.

    • will try this way tomorrow

    • When you use apply pay, did you have to enter PIN for the transaction of $100+?

      • Yes

        • For some reason, I didn't have to today.

      • Actually… I didn't have to for some reason… Even for the transaction totalling $102.95.

  • I have got Amex issued card for myself and wife last month. While I am able to see these offer, there is none available when I login to my wifes account? Any reason? So basically I am not able to enrol for offers on supplementary card?

    • +1

      Try the manual links.

      • That worked. Brilliant. Thanks mate :)

  • Myer and First Choice Liquor done, just Westfield left now

    • Sorry but can I ask if you bout gift cards at first choice?

      • +6

        Yep, Coles Myer ones

        • Thanks that's awesome!

        • Nice One!!

  • +2

Just bought a $200 gift card split across two cards from Garden City, Brisbane. Only paid $2.95 for the one card with 200 on it.

Go to the info desk bottom floor just near kmart. Hope this helps fellow Brisbanites!

Edit: the guy there checked my id and cards to see if both are in my name.

    • +1

Thanks, did the same at North Lakes.
Have you received confirmation email from AMEX yet?

      • +1

No confirmation emails for either card, fingers crossed!

  • Has anyone bought a myer gift card for the $150 spend and got confirmation email?
