    this is for chatswood westfield

this is pretty nice to stack with all the amex deals which appeared this morning…

    https://www.westfield.com.au/chatswood/deals

actually there seems to be sales everywhere !!!

  • +18

    WOW

    Buy $100 GC + $2.95 (service fee)

Get back $10 AMEX Mobile Wallets
Get back $25 AMEX Westfield Deal
Get back #20 Westfield Gift Card.

WOWOWOW So like Spend $102.95 for $47.95!!

This is how you survive in Australia. Too bad not all westfields.

    • +6

Damn, this actually makes going through their painful boom gates and carparks actually worth it

      • +3

And their awful carpark. Lets block off half the entrances and not repair any of the massive potholes in the carpark

      • At least there is no boom gates at the entry ;)

    • -2

You can't stack them like that.

      • +3

        yes you can!

        • So are you saying to add AMEX to mobile wallet, then pay with that resulting in two types of cash backs? Verified?

        • +2
        • @Turd: That's interesting, so I am assuming that mobile wallets does not work like Paypal. You are still making the purchase directly, but through the application for which Android/Apple charge a fee to Amex.

        • @bargain_knight: Yep. New technology, must try and get everyone to use it thus they offer these things. AMEX had trials for Samsung, Apple and Android pay recently. Similar cashbacks

        • @bargain_knight: the wallet is just a fancy way of storing your card. It is essentially the same as paying with your card, but using the phone app. Android/Apple aren't involved in the actual transfer of money like PayPal.

      • Pretty sure you would get at least one of the amex deals even better if its both

      • Can't stack mobile wallet and westfield deal unless you split payment for $32.95 and $100

        • In theory they do stack. It certainly did with Shop Small and Android Pay, and Shop Small and Click Frenzy cashback deals. So in theory it should stack here too…

        • @zzyss: I did this at noon, only got one mobile wallet confirmation mail. But I would keep the westfield offer that they normanlly give bonus credit in Christmas season.

        • forgive my ignorance, but are mobile wallets capped at $100 like paypass?

        • +1

@aryan12: If over $100, you just simply enter the pin on the merchant terminal.

        • @John Kelvin:

That's interesting. I'd be keen to find out how it choose which deal to trigger, given not both…

        • Just had confirmation over on the Amex Cashback discussion that people ARE stacking the Android Pay and Westfield deals. Maybe check your statement credits - you didn't get the other email but you did get the credit?

      • Yes. Yes you can.

        • I tried it and haven't got both confirmation mail.

          How you know it works?

    • +1

You are getting $120 worth of gift cards for $67.95.

  • Is there a service fee if you buy in the centre (not online)?

    • +1

      $2.95 fee, $4.95 for xs.

      $5.95 delivery fee if online.

  • +2

No bonus gift card in vic. Must be a store specific deal.

  • Any NSW Westfield have this extra bonus ?

  • +1

Not in Sydney Westfield. Store specific perhaps.

    • Can confirm Sydney Mall Westfield does not have this

      • +1

Just rang Liverpool NSW and they do not have it either

  • +2

    I hope Woden as well.

    • +2

Nope only Belco, might have to drive there now.

      • +1

That $20 isn't enough to entice me to drive all the way to the north….

        • No, but $200 was ;)

        • @yycan:

Still not enough, driving along the parkway in itself is a trauma…

Only got 7 cards on me right now anyway.

        • Worth it if you like shopping at Aldi. The one at Belco is the only one in Canberra that'll accept Westfield gift cards.

  • Great bonus. Beats the free coffee voucher from Chatswood NSW. Btw, i didnt get an instant email from amex. I usually do with other offers. Did anyone else not get instant email confirmation for this deal?

    • +1

Westfield's batch process the transactions. So you will get email when they send it or gets processed

    • some amex cashbacks I don't get the email straight away i think it depends on the merchant

  • +2

Perhaps the concierge lady was confused with the amex cashback deal and you got a free $20 gift card as well

  • +1

I think that's correct. I just called Westfield Doncaster and they advised that $20 offer was valid until last week but not anymore.

  • I should also note that the lady at the concierge asked for my name and wrote it down. I assume this is to stop us ozbargainers coming back multiple times to get multiple $20 bonus gift cards

    • Also cc fraud protection

    • I rang and asked- she said multiples were fine, but had to do separate transactions

      • I'm about to purchase LG V20 from JB Hifi.

        Can I redeem 8 x $100 gift cards + bonus 8 x $20 bonus = $960 at JB belco?

        • JB may not allowe 8 cards, maybe max 5 depending on person you deal with.

          Get 1x$800 or 2x$400

  • No extra $20 at Parramatta NSW

  • +2

a good reason to drive down to Canberra from Sydney

    • Have some Chinese from Sammys Kitchen while you are there

      • +1

prefer kinn thai next to sammys

      • You're kidding? The one and only time I had Sammy'a I found it blend and overly westernised. Wasn't cheap either…

        • I Agree Kinn is alright. Sammy's is totally westernised Asian food. I would not recommend it.

        • @yycan: each to our own.

      • Sammy use to be good before they moved and renovated.

    • Probably not for $40.

  • This is Centre specific i think.

    • Can you please list which centers?

      • +1

        only Belconnen I meant.

  • Do you actually have to buy $100 card plus $2.95 service fee = $102.95, or can you buy $97.05 card plus $2.95 service fee = $100 total

    • Buy $100 card + fee

  • Service fee is per gift card? So if you have 2 AmEx cards can you spend $200 on gift cards and split the cost between two AmEx cards?

    • Yes you can if the staff let you. Some do other dont. U just have to ask em

  • +1

Is there an expiry on this promotion at Belco? Sounds awesome!

  • Well I'll head to Belco this Saturday and hope it's still running!

  • -5

Op this is a targeted offer in part for people with Amex cards. Also specific to belconon store until end of today according to a rep in Victoria.

  • +5

I just called the centre and spoke to management and they told me the T's & C's are:
    - Belco only not at Woden or NSW centres
    - limit of 2 per customer
    - must show valid ID and that name must match what's on the card
    - Only while stocks last so I assume they only have a finite number of cards

    • So is yycan below full of shit then? I'd hope so.

      • T&C's one thing but how they get enforced is another. For all we know maybe yycan is pretty darn hot and the blokes just turned a blind eye?

        • Ha! I'm a girl and there were two ladies at the concierge.

      • Not sure they sounded pretty adamant about the T's and C's over the phone

  • +2

Can Westfield gift cards be spent at Coles/Woolworths/Aldi/Big W/Target?

    • Some, not all. Obv if it is INSIDE westfields then yes.

      • Not always the case unless it's changed

    • Worked at non-westfield Woolworths for me

  • -1

Grabbed 10x$100 Westfield gift cards :P Thanks OP

    • +1

Only 10? Why not 100,000 ? And get back $2,000,000

      • +1

I only have 10 Amex cards.

        • But isnt it "Buy $100 Westfield Gift Card and Get Bonus $20 Westfield Gift Card" ?

So buy 100000 cards and get 100000 $20 cards? LOL I bet they be like no this wont be right read T&Cs haha

        • @Turd: The concierge asked if I was working in a store.

        • @yycan:

Just to clear this up. Did you receive 10 bonus $20 cards? Or 2 as per the T&Cs?

        • @j4ck: I received 10, but they might started enforcing the 2 limit rule after I got it, because the demand suddenly rose.

        • @yycan:

Wow…I'd go and buy a lotto ticket

    • Er, I just went and was told limit of 2 per customer, so I'm calling BS or you had 4 helpers.

      • I did go with my partner, so there were two of us. They didn't note down my contact details nor said anything about 2 per customer limit to me. As is often the case, they probably started to enforcing rules as they become flooded with requests. While I was there, there were at least two other people getting gift cards with Amex.

EDIT: while I was there, one of them was on the phone to someone about this deal, sounds like they were a bit concerned, and they know it's on OzBargain now too.

  • AMEX site down for anyone?

    • Seems to be fine.

      • Thanks, working now

        • +1

the offer is gone, but you can try manual link to register

        • I literally signed up on the AMEX site at home as my partner was walking to the concierge 5 minutes ago and she was successful! Confirmation email arrived.

  • Deal of the week! Got my giftcards and emails from Amex! Thanks OP!

  • so is it confirmed 2 Per person?
the person I spoke to at the desk said as many as you wanted….

    • yycan managed to get 10, so I don't think they are enforcing the 2 per person rule

      • yeah, not sure if he was trolling or not…a guy above said he spoke to centre management and they said 2 PP
        I'll find out tomorrow!

        • Why they would limit the number of gc sold ?

        • just went and bought some and they only let me get 2 :( guess yycan got in before they started enforcing! I'll try my luck again tomorrow lol

    • don't forget that the campaign is run by Amex. The conceirge desk staff don't necessarily know about Amexs terms and conditions. They are allowed to sell as many cards as the customer wants.
