It is not a unique code. Mine's the same.

    • Hmmm….

By the way, does anyone know why these keyboards are so friggin expensive??
I mean what if you want a good keyboard like this without the LED's, Dedicated Gaming Hotkeys, and the Michael Bay aesthetics.
      Shouldn't it cost somewhere below $60 ?
      Thanks.

      • +2

We have given value to things that aren't important in life. :(

        • Is that you from Crysis 3 server ? I am Spider_alone LoL

        • @thelittlething:

Yes. Hi. No more Crysis 3 for me. There are more pressing matters in life for me atm.

      • more like around $100

you can find Aliexpress versions for sub $50 though with "mechanical" switches.
Positive reviews for those who dont really care about the technology behind it, and only care about real world feel

      • +1

Mechanical keyboards are expensive. Especially if you get Cherry Switches. They start at around $100.

      • You can get them a bit below $100 sometimes.

I have a Deck Hassium keyboard which does have single colour LED's and has programmable macros, but is fairly plain looking otherwise. I highly recommend it. The programmable macros are actually quite useful for work - as I can program them to access common commands in software that I use.

      • The cherry mxboard at Evatech has been as low as $64. Similar price at mwave when AMEX cash back $40 on $100

      • It's a well known marketing thing that adding LEDs = $20-60+ on the base price.

        • +1

$20 I can get by…. but adding LED's to the keyboard seems to inflate the price up by at least $50.
And in most cases by around $110, in the Australian market.

There's also people going around and buying Vintage IBM Model M keyboards.
Not sure if I'd want that trade-off in terms of tactile response to all the clackity-thock-clack-clack noises.
I hear that noise all day at work already : \
Although I have been told that Corsair's mechanical keyboards are one of the less flashy and more silent ones out there.

      • No ghosting, build quality, longevity etc.

But yeah, a lot for something relatively simple.

I got the same code so not unique. I've got the non RapidFire RGB with Browns, a bit of fun to have shiny lights on your keyboard I guess

    • Which one is that? I can't see any Browns on the site.

      • Ah right I didn't get it from here - got it from Umart at the start of the year. Just talking in general terms about the K70 RGB - didn't realise there were new silver switches on this

        • I got the Rapidfire and I thought all of the Rapidfire keyboards came with the MX Speed switches.

        • @raiyani: Yeah, he probably has the K70 RGB LUX instead of K70 Rapidfire RGB. Rapidfire's only come with MX Speed, where as the LUX comes with Reds/Browns.

    • +1

I also have the K70 RGB with Cherry MX Browns, i bought mine for over 200 back when it came it out though..Still they are great!

  • Same

      • Wondering if they have stock in shop so I can grab it today.

        • +1

They might have stock, but based on what I understand is that this deal is ONLINE only

  • Just got mine!
    My code was the same

  • Very good deal.

  • Thoughts on MX speed?

    • +5

Not optimal. Blue's for typing, reds for FPS, browns for everything else. MX Speed is too linear and not tactile. The actuation point is shorter than red's as well. They use the same 45g actuation force as well which feels really gross.

In my opinion, don't buy a board with them. Spend the extra (or normal amount in most cases) and get a good switch.

      • Cheers :)

      • I personally use a MX red KB to type at work… they feel really nice to type on… having the MX blue on an Orbweaver… those blues feel too clicky to be good for typing.

        • Depends what you like. I also find that the construction of the keyboard affects the keys, too.

Currently on a Deck Hassium Pro with MX Blue and it's great. But I prefer my Daskeyboard 4 Ultimate with MX Browns over the Deck and my Daskeyboard 4 with MX Blues.

Brown's all the way for me. Just wish they sounded like Blues!

        • +1

@rorymeister: I really wanted to try the browns actually, heard they're great for typing.

I've only used the K90, CMStorm QF XT and an Orbweaver so my judgement of the two red and blue are based on those.

        • +1

@rorymeister: I have the deck hassium with browns and love it. I have a razer at home with razer's own version of blues and it's nowhere near as nice - as well as being much louder.

        • @macrocephalic:

The Deck is such a great keyboard. Fantastic build quality.

The MX Blues on it are better than the ones on Daskeyboard 4 (but that's because it's still relatively new)

If my colleagues complain about the noise of the blue, I'll buy a Deck in brown, I reckon.

Cheap and a solid option for anyone wanting to try out a mech kb.

        • @ProjectZero:

They are. I think it's the softened tactile bump.

But then Blue's can be worn in and get a lot better.

      • Thanks for the comments, was wondering any good compared with the Red switch.

    • Takes a lot of getting used to, I still occasionally accidentally brush a key and it's enough to activate it, in saying that, I've grown accustomed to to it and like it now but feel I would still prefer the MX browns.

  • K70 RGB Rapidfire is $193 at MSY so this is crazy good.

    • thanks, updated. seems to be $194 though ><

      • +1

LUX is $194. Can't even find RAPIDFIRE on their site.

It's a shame this code doesn't work on the the LUX :(

        • +1

yeah you're right. i've got nfi about these keyboards tbh

        • +1

          @CVonC:

I'm looking at the PDF and it just says "Corsair Gaming K70 RAPIDFIRE Cherry MX Speed" and the RGB version is $193, and as far as I know it should be the only version of the RGB K70 with MX Speeds.

  • Thanks mate, been meaning to upgrade my K90 MX reds…

  • If you get the 5% off Woolworth eGift cards, then use that to buy the JB gift cards from Woolworth, you get another few % off. I forgot what denominations the JB gift cards come at - $20, $50 and $100 perhaps? So you won't be able to get the exact amount in JB gift cards.

    • +2

JB giftcards are 10% off at Coles at the moment

  • Thanks, bought one :)

  • just ordered one, coz its so cheap. Amazon has it for USD$150. This is unbelievable price!

  • Wow awesome deal op. Don't need 1 but tempted.

  • Speeds switch has only 1.2mm actuation distance and 45cn force required. It is definitely the lightest of all switches! And key cap is Abs, makes the whole feeling even cheaper.

Apart from the above characteristics, the keyboard with this price is a definitly a steal.

  • Error

    • same but not the pretty RGB ;)

    • Seems to only work on the RAPIDFIRE and not the LUX… i tried it on the RGB LUX and it didnt work.

      • Ignore my comment guys. I messed and cannot delete

      • yeah LUX is prettiest :(

        • I think think they're the same, only reason I want the LUX over the RAPIDFIRE is because of the MX Reds

        • @ProjectZero:

oh right so they're both rainbow? that's awesome then

just watching this (rather silly) mx red vs mx speed video.. why do you prefer the red?

        • +1

@CVonC: I've only really tried two types of MX keys. MX Red (my K90 and the CMStorm Quick fire XT) and the MX Blues (Orbweaver old version) and I just like the feel of MX Red, its fast and typing on them feels nice.

Never tried the MX Speed and from looking online, seem to have mixed opinion as to whether it is like the MX red or MX Black. I've heard terrible things about the the Black so I thought I'd try to stick with something I liked. Its purely personal preference.

        • @ProjectZero:

I use MX Red for work, MX Blue at home, just got the MX Speed from Umart last week and it feels closer to red but "twitchier"… meaning keys activates a lot quicker which is awesome for gaming, still trying to get used to it for normal typing.

    • Only got errors when paying with card, paypal went through fine though.

  • What a bargain. Got one. Don't wait to save 10% on gift cards. It'll be gone in an hour. $193 at MSY

  • It's a shame doesn't work on the RED switches. Good deal though.

  • Got this in my email and bought one based on comments & reviews

  • +1

Got myself one. Upgrading from my old school Logitech G15 orange backlit keyboard haha. Thanks OP, first mechanical keyboard!

    • Haha same as me. LCD has been acting up so due an upgrade :)

      • Great deal, you guys will never go back.

    • ah i use to have a G15 haha. currently have an old G110, desperately wanting a mech keyboard however

  • Bought one, glad it wasn't sold out yet

  • -1

    will this work on ps4?

  • +1

I already have one K70 and one K65, I can't resist about this price ,so I bought one more OMG.

    • lol

  • Got one thanks OP

  • No cherry mx brown/red switches? Haven't heard of cherry mx speed sounds like an inferior "gaming" switch which is still OK but not the real deal. Like razer greens.

  • Tried to checkout.

Says it's out of stock now

    • still takes me to paypal page hmm

      • Tried on a new browser window and it decided to go through :)

  • I bought mine from Umart last week for $194 :(

    Excellent price!!

  • I have razer blackwidow ultimate 2016 with clicky greens (cherry mx blue copies) which I got for $100, I reckon I could sell it for similar price. Is this worth the upgrade??.. the razer greens are a bit loud and have high actuation force. Also very occasionally they do not register movement in game and I can't return cause of razer dodgy return policy regarding resellers and return postage on ebay wouldn't be worth it.

    • +1

Yes, actually that keyboard wouldn't last long compared with any cherry switch keyboard. (I checked this with a net bar that they are using this keyboard, the space button and some single keys are broken.)

If you play any games , I would highly suggest this keyboard. And it's cheap , I bought in mwave over $200

      • I didn't downvote you,not sure why someone would. Razer don't have the best quality control and you can't compare the razer copies to real cherry mx switches. Razer tries to market theirs as better lol.

That being said the actual keyboard itself feels solid, I'll probably get this one though as the razer switches are obnoxiously loud and heavy plus have issues with input registration.

        • flog the razer off as quick as possible. it wasn't you i saw on buy sell page literally minutes ago same keyboard? lol

  • +3

Top keyboard, except I have the reds - even spilt coffee on mine - lights went crazy. After deciding there were too many screws to undo, poured isopropyl alcohol through it until it ran clear - it works again!

  • Are these only good for gaming? I don't play games, buy would like to use for typing… Is it worth spending this much money?

    • +1

MX brown or blues for typing.

    • As I tested, compared with red switch , the silver switch has a really large chance with miss clicking, the response is so fast that could not fit with 'type only user'.

I enjoy this keyboard so much while playing csgo and overwatch, but I really suggest MX Brown or blue switch would be far away better than this.

    • Personal preference is part of it- I (and most) absolutely hate linear switches for typing. Had a keyboard with MX Reds (2mm actuation) for over a year and I was making a lot of errors by just brushing over keys. The MX Speed switches have an even lower 1.2mm actuation so wouldn't be any better. After switching to MX Blues (browns are also good), I noticed a significant improvement in typing overall.

If you're a very accurate typer, you might be able to get used to them, but they aren't the best choice IMO.

    • This is definitely a great keyboard for typing if you don't make typos. Extremely smooth and fast.

  • Bloody amazing deal i bought the K65 rbg version about a month ago with the MX speed switches. i prefer the shorter keyboard as i like it shorter without the ten keys.

  • Has anyone compared the MX Browns to these MX Speeds? I really love my MX Brown switches, and I'm looking at a keyboard. I don't really care for the RGB back lighting as I don't need or want it. just need a comparison with the switches.

    • This MX Speed is more like a red/black switch, a lighter string version of MX Black. That would be totally different with MX Brown.

  • Bought- had it in my cart since 50 likes and just continued the checkout process now at 100 likes. JB you the real mvp.

  • Thanks guys, was looking for one of these.

  • :!Why no pickup??? Going overseas for couple of months tomorrow and no way this will make it.

  • Just tried to add to cart and it was removed. Anyone else experience this?

EDIT: looks like they readded it. Deal is still open for now.

  • Just tried to put an order through and told me no more stock are available :(

  • All gone.

  • Great deal, looks like i got one of the last ones.

  • You can still add to cart I think

  • +1

It said out of stock, but after two minutes back in stock. Just purchased one. Thanks OP.
