    Without AMEX offer, it is only 10% off, BIG DEAL. Some staff at Myer are so so concerned that this 10% are given on top of AMEX offer and offended customers by refusing the offer this week. Yes. I am talking about you, staffs at Myer Sydney City Level 6, toy section checkout. What is your excuse this time? How about 'we never heard of any such offer' or 'we are still waiting for confirmation from head office'? Shame on you!

      $10 isn't really that exciting. Woolies often have extra $10 in the form of everyday money. And I can pay with their gc which is already discounted by 5%.

        So buying $150 gift card in store, with the amex does qualify for the $35 back right? Think there was discussions that was saying that amex wouldn't know what you bought in store anyways. Please confirm thanks!

          I would think in-store it wouldn't be a problem as they appear the same as buying anything else from in-store in your credit card statement. However, buying gift card online may go through a different payment channel where AMEX are able to distinguish it.

      Amex offer excludes "online gift card purchases", so you should be fine if you buy in-store.

        Just be aware that further down in the last dot point is a link to generic terms and conditions. From memory, that said excludes gift cards so technically, they may be able to refuse if they wanted to.

        However, I do note that most here and other threads, have said they haven't had an issue as Amex doesn't know you've bought a gift card etc.

        Just pointing out its not as black and white.

      Now if you can make multiple transactions that might work, but not all at the same time.

      My Wife works at Myer, hence that makes me officially at ozbargain, "associated". This isn't a view from inside myer, its my personal ozbargainers interpretation of the post.

      Buy the gift card on different register. Might need to walk around a bit :)
      Once you have enough, buy the iPhone. Usually you can ask to pricematch OW or others too, to make it even cheaper.

    It might work better to buy 3 x $100 myer gift cards with 2 cards with amex promo

    Transaction 1: $100 myer gift card with card a, bonus $10 gift card
    Transaction 2: $100 myer gift card with $50 on card a and $50 on card b, bonus $10 gift card and $35 amex cashback for card a
    Transaction 3: $100 myer gift card with card b, bonus $10 gift card and $35 amex cashback for card b

    So, $330 gift cards for $230 (about 30% off)

    Not sure if my maths are correct…

      Just did this, not received any emails from amex for some reason.

      Bought Coles & Myers gift card last week, the email came straight away.

      Could be something to do with spending $150 in one transaction vs 2 transactions.

      just did this, and was able to split over 2 payments of $150. One amex email came straight through, still waiting for the other… Annoyingly the bonus $10 go on separate cards, so you end up with 6 gift cards!

      For this deal, it can be in multiple transactions to reach $150. But to be safe, don't go assuming it'll always be the case for every amex deal. Pays to read the conditions of each offer to save yourself a headache down the road.

    I bought colesMyer gift cards from myer Joondalup. Got confirmation from Amex.
    Bought QC35 and out of pocket $375. Bought $400 gift cards n got $40 bonus. I negotiated QC35 price with Rep for $450. Used 4 gift cards $400+ bonus gift card $40+ $10 eftpos.
    Total out of pocket $410- $35 amex cashback=$375.

      lol why go to all that effort, can pricematch the QC35 at Myer then split $450 / 3 = $150. And split payment on the 3 cards, $35 back for $150 spend. Out of pocket 450 - 3x35 = $345

        For the price their noise cancelling abilities are arguably the best, and its fun to try get them as cheap as possible. Personally I recently bought the Plantronics Backbeat pro 2, cheaper, better sound than the Bose and has some cool features like auto pause when you take them off.

    This is a repost of my experience:
    Myer at Warringah Mall has a sign at the Giftorium desk advertising the deal. I asked the lady at the counter if I could buy 3 separate $100 gift cards so I can get 3x$10 bonus cards. She looked at some clipboard and then said I could get 1x$300 gift card and get 1x$30 bonus so I did that with split payment over 2 Amex cards. Got the $30 bonus on a separate gift card then and there. Also got one Amex email as soon as I was done at the counter and the second email as I was walking out the door.

    Very friendly and helpful staff unlike Westfield concierge.
