    I believe there's an AMEX Qantas offer you can use until the 20th too where you spend $700 or more and get $150 back

        Is it possible to get these prices through Qantas directly? I looked up a flight and total came up about $50 more on Qantas.com

      You dont fly often do you… SYD-AKL can be more expensive than SYD-PEK, where the latter is literally thousands of miles further apart.

    For those considering a trip, be aware that Japan is still leaking radiation and come countries have a ban in place for imports from Japan due to elevated radiation levels found in their food product.

    Looks like most of the ex SYD flights involve either transiting in BNE OR MEL.

    Air China seem to have similar pricing for the same period ex SYD. It might be a good option from those wanting a brief stay in Shanghai on the free 72hour transit visa.

    Remember a full China Visa is now -$120.

    I travel to Japan a fair bit. You'd be better off getting flights on ANA - ANA economy is like Qantas premium economy.

    Way better leg room and way better food.

    Return from Sydney direct is around $1000 and for an extra $100 you can get a domestic return flight anywhere within Japan - Including Okinawa.

    Much better value I reckon.
