  • okay guys, anyone have any feedback on the TV? seriously considering..

    • Motion rate 60hz,thats the only drawback . Usually all 4k panels today are 100hz.

      • I might be wrong but aren't motion rates above 50/60hz only relevant of your using the motion smoothing features? Content is basically all lower hz. So what you're talking about is more relevant to when using those yuck motion smoothing features?

        • hi Xizor.
To ans ur question. Yes & No.
Yes it is to smooth motion , may be the soap opera effect looks bad on daily tv viewing and or movies but are controllable with a single click. But No, its not all bad — Where it really does matter is in video games and sports where smoothing helps alot to make your experience wonderful, basically any fast moving feature on the panel.

        • @Jabberwocky: Interesting. I was playing around with the feature the other day for soccer (as ever latest LEDs seem to handle motion not quite as good as the good plasma's did) and i had to have it on a med/high setting to do anything, but still the effect it did was a bit unpleasant. I guess it's a personal taste thing.

        • @Xizor: absolutely agree

      • Where did you spot that? I checked the link as well as the samsung site and they both say 100 motion rate?

    • I purchased this from JB for $2190 and have had it for 3 weeks. I'm quite happy with the TV. The colours are pretty vibrant and the panel is great. Have a look at ratings if you want a more comprehensive technical review. Let me know if you need to do know anything further.

      • Does the electronic program guide / TV guide load quickly?

        • Yup, the EPG does load quickly. Can't say the same about freeview plus though. One minor issue I have noticed is that the wifi seems to disconnect on a couple of occasions. A quick restart of the TV seems to fix it.

  • I don't know if it matters but this is still 8 bit

    • deleted - misread!

  • for the price its decent

next step up [8 series] is $1k more
