  • can we pinch zoom using the touch pad?

    • "Touch and gesture navigation" in the description…. plus I believe I've used the feature on my own k400r…

  • Good price on the keyboard, but gets mixed reviews - a common complaint is about limited wireless range.

I use this at home for the HTPC - we sit about 6m back with no issues.
      6m should cover most scenarios.

      • Good to know, thanks!

    • I also have one, use it about 5m away, 0 issues.

    • I have one and use it 2 m away and get issues every now and again.

      • You are holding your mouth the wrong way.

Might be some sort of interference?

        • Donald Sutherland knows how to hold his mouth.

      • maybe some sort of interference or obstruction?
For reference, mine sits next to a 2.4Ghz wireless router - but I have line of site to the dongle.

        • Mines a media pc sitting under my tv. Line of site to dongle. and I am so close to it. Could be interference but it sucks as I'm so close. Just be aware that it does happen. Day to day its not much of an issue but If I sit further back I notice a difference.

  • Which is the latest model between k400r and k400 plus?

    • The k400 plus is newer. I actually bought one yesterday for $45, but practically little difference. I think this is the better deal.

      • The K400R is reversed keys, so it's really troubled when you get used to Ctrl-F4 it will go into sleep mode.

But I need a deal on a mechanical keyboard and PC speakers. EB Games help a brother out.

EBgames is NOT the place to go for Mechanical keyboards. I must admit is is great for trying out what type of cherry key you want. But otherwise go to MSY. Seriously, way cheaper there.

      • EBgames is NOT the place to go for Mechanical keyboards.

You mean you can't buy everything from there?

        • You can buy Mechanical Keyboards from Ebgames, but the range is not very wide in-store and the prices are too high.
Msy on the other hand has a much larger range and cheaper prices.
To answer your question, you can buy some more popular keyboards at Ebgames, but I would not recommend.

  • Picked up a K400R from DSE; it's been brilliant for the HTPC.

I bought 3 of the K400 keyboards when Dick smith was closing down. $12-$15 each. I haven't had any issues. I think it's up there as one of my favourite Dick Smith closing down specials. They were still there because they hadn't marked the prices, so people thought they were still only 30% off or something.

  • Will these keyboards work well with the steamLink thingy? or is bluetooth better?

  • Wait, does the keyboard actually work on smart TVs? It uses a proprietary usb dongle rather than generic bluetooth afaik…

    • I can't say specifically for the K400r but I have the K830 wireless/bluetooth model and a Samsung smart TV. In bluetooth pairing mode my TV never found the K830 so I had to use the wireless USB dongle, worked fine for me. YMMV

      • I think there is some sort of Standard involved with the wireless.

    • I've got a K400<something> that normally drives Kodi. I plugged the dongle into the Samsung TV that I got via Ozbargain and the keyboard worked fine.

    K400r keyboard.

Feels cheap but the product itself works flawlessly and is actually a strong unit.
I throw it in my laptop bag with my dell venue pro tablet and with an otg cable works all the time.
Has some neat shortcut keys but the gestures work great as well.
The pad isnt overly sensative but its a good thing if you ask me.

Battery life is insane almoat 1 year with the same batteries that came with it.

Also works on linux peppermint 6,ubuntu and xubuntu. For anyone that wants to know.

  • Can anyone confirm whether these work with lastest MacBook OS? There are YouTube videos saying they worked on previous models. Thanks.

    • You'll need a USB Port for the keyboard's USB dongle - it's not a bluetooth keyboard.

  • No stock in any Melbourne stores. Doesn't feel like a good value when you add the shipping cost to it.

Bought x100 Bluetooth speaker thanks op.
Seems good value for the dosh going from online reviews,
and I cranked it up to max,
I think it's got to be worth 20 bucks
No distortion with bass heavy techno
You would have to pay a lot more for bigger speaker to get more volume

  • Such a lack of cheap Bluetooth keyboards.
Seems you to have pay $100
Ended up buying a Chinese brand off eBay.

    • Check your local Woolies Store. A while ago they had'em for around $15 (might have been less). I picked one up, and it works just fine on my Mac.

  • All gone in Brisbane

  • Possibly never stocked in Canberra stores but at least not currently available at them. To their credit the staff at both the City and Belconnen stores picked up the phone in like 10 seconds and I've called during lunchtime during christmas. Good on them.

I think what is happening here is this item has been superseded by the K400 plus so its limited to remaining stock. That's why it says in-store only now and to check individual stores stock levels and also why JB doesn't list the K400r https://www.jbhifi.com.au/?q=Logitech%20K400&

  • Found the x100 for $11 @ TGG Robina. Should be one left.
