These have drivers made of real gold. In addition it has been hand made by wise old craftsmen who dedicated their whole life in this art.
Word of warning, you'll need decent source and amplification to do this justice.

    • +62

      you'll need decent source

I just got a ZTE Zip 4G from Coles for $29.50

    • +21

Reminds me of a work mate who got some Beats bundled in with his phone contract, brought them in to work and started playing some low quality audio through YouTube and proceeded to bang on about how good these things were.

    • How is gold components any better for audio if not worse?

      • -4

Gold offers low resistance than copper.

        • +4
        • +7

Gold is used because it doesn't tarnish like silver and copper, which both have lower resistance.

        • +4

          It's all in the oxidation

        • @dazweeja: i read a fair few sources and it seems highly debatable whether this is true.

        • +4

          @RI4V4N:

I don't understand what's up for debate? There's no debate whatsoever about the two facts contained in my statement.

        • +4

          Resistance is futile.

It makes women believe your penis is really big.

          Fixed. ;)

    • How does this sound from my iPhone? Are they better than the air pods?
      Thx

      • +12

Sounds best with iphone 7 :p

        • Underrated reply lol

    • Didn't know it had gold. All jokes aside despite being really good headphones it still sounds a tad shrill compared to my lcd's. For the same price would easily take the lcd-4, stax SR009 or abyss!

    • You know the Gemini is a Dac/Amp yeah? It's a pretty decent source.

    • These are fairly well regarded professional headphones. Typically high end audio gear like this is used by sound engineers; and audiophiles with cash to burn.

    • +1

      $5k for headphones? Meh.
How about US $2 million for this HiFi?

      http://www.transmissionaudio.com/images/Transmission_Audio_U…

12 speakers, 15500W Continuous RMS (62000W Peak Power), the 4 subwoofers weigh 450Kg each and are 2.1m tall, and all speakers are finished in Aircraft Aluminium and Granite.

You just have to figure out where to plug in these headphones ;).

  • +3

Tip-in the AUD/USD exchange rate + shipping/insurance + GST on a DIY import and you're looking at close to AUD5,000 for these headphones. Makes the $2,000 DAC/amp…errr…"free"…kind of ☺. Originally released in 2014, the 'Gemini 2000' is still AURALIC's top-of-the line unit.

  • +12
