      Hi EriceKahlua
I am the owner of TIDD and I can confirm that I am not the deal poster and I do not know who edwardsajl is.
In fact I only became aware of OzBargain today after seeing referals from the site to www.tidd.com.au in Google Analytics.
Also please note that the TIDD website is only for bonafide airline employees and travel agents, and the deals we have are only for hotels - we do not have any flight deals and the cruise deals we refer to a partnered interline cruise company.
      Regards Alex

It is not an offer for the general public.

  • Thanks OP, I generally use Breakaway Travelclub, but with this discount I'll give these guys a go as I've got a few overseas holidays this year.

For those asking about the legitimacy of the site, while I can't comment on this site, I have used similar ones. As mentioned they're only open to travel industry employees, but they DON'T sell standby tickets. Some example deals are:

    • Sydney to LA for ~$900 (including all fees and taxes).

    • Roughly 40-50% off the normal price of cruises.

    • Business class fares from Sydney to New Zealand for ~$600 return.

The good thing about these sites is that the deals last a long time, so it's not a normal quick sale thats open to the general public.

Obviously this doesn't apply to most OzBargainers, but if you are in the travel industry and have a trip coming up these sites can save you a fortune.

    • Be working in the travel industry is the key to using these deals…

  • How would they even know if you are industry or not, following the abolition of licencing of travel agents in NSW? In any case, haven't travel agents gone the way of the dodo?

    • From website
      "IDENTIFICATION:
Presentation of an IATA card, Airline ID card or a letter from an officer of the company on company letterhead is required at all times when travelling. Any misrepresentation of these facts can result in the traveller being charged full fare by the respective business."

        Write your own letter

        • I guess that wouldn't be sufficient unless you had a bonafide business.
Could you register a business (eg Gaz travel services) & then be eligible?
If it is true that travel agents are no longer licenced, would you still need some other certifications, proof of training, etc?
          Just curious.
