While I personally use Private Internet Access (per my previous deal), brutus noted in the comments section that PureVPN works with US Netflix whereas PIA apparently doesn't (I use Getflix so can't confirm either way).

It seems to get a good wrap with regard to privacy and jurisdiction, so perhaps it's worth trying out if it sounds better than some of the other options. That said, perhaps StackSocial will offer another 'lifetime' deal in the coming months , so the choice is yours!

*As if anyone ever actually pays full price for VPNs though!

EDIT Wow, StackSocial still has the lifetime deal available. Nice spot razza :)

Looking at grabbing a VPN, lifetime is appealing as its a once of price. Can anyone comment further on PureVPN, and how well does it work with NetflixUS?

      • Yep would like to hear from users re speed and whether or not PureVPN keep details. Am currently using AIRVPN which isn't cheap but has a lot of fans on Reddit.

  • It seems nobody noticed the "lifetime" deal is actually for 5 years!! Click on the"specs" tab and see for yourself.

So US69 is about AU$96 which is about $19/year. A CRACKING deal assuming they're still around for next 5 years.

    • Only a cracking deal if speeds are up to spec and they stay in business for 5 years

Subscription term is for 5 years. At the conclusion of the 5-year term, customers may renew their subscriptions completely free-of-charge by contacting [email protected].

Not recommended. Drops a lot. Netflix us stopped working since they started blocking vpns.
PureVPN 2 year subscriber, will not renew when it's up in 6 months.

  • I'm a purevpn user.
Mobile app works great. Have used in Singapore and Taiwan to watch afl and access foxsports.

    Desktop app.
Easy to use. Doesn't log info. Fast speeds for torrents. Can basically Max my speed.
Problem. Netflix doesn't work by clicking streaming. Had to get in contact with customer support who gave me a manual address to use. Then worked.

  • I have pure VPN and my torrents …. no one can connect back to myself so I can upload, the torrent sites say, no uploading we will ban you.

so end result is I have to shut down the VPN and straight away I can upload / share the torrent .. files downloaded..
Is this something that only happens with pure VPN or is this common to all VPNS.
I've tried forwarding all the ports etc. .. but still cant upload.

    • I've also had the same experience and with a little research I can now torrent through this VPN with no limitations.

If you have encryption forced (inbound and outbound) there's no (economical) way that the vpn can tell that it's torrent traffic. The problem lies in that purevpn blocks the trackers from which your torrent client (use deluge or qbitorrent - utorrent sucks now) obtains peers/seeders.

So to avoid the blocking of trackers follow this guide http://www.justhackitnow.com/2015/02/download-torrents-anony…. Make sure that you have tor running for it to work and only run your tracker and DHT through tor.

This works on non-p2p servers btw

I was with Pure VPN until I did tests for DNS leaks, and they leak DNS so basically useless! Other pure users test here and look for your ISP to appear in there when it shouldn't https://ipleak.net/
I switched to AirVPN who don't leak DNS and generally works great https://airvpn.org/
They have 20% off but was due to end yesterday
