    • +1

I suppose I could share the nuggets with a friend, but a gallon is too much 😂

    • -3

no, we do not need that deal here.

      • +10

Yeah we do. You don't have to purchase the deal.

    • +1

Is it a diet ice tea?

  • Nice tie in to the McFlurry deal posted the other day. I suspect McDonalds does not want us to lose that extra layer of fat we gained over Christmas. :-)

  • -2

@OP, are making fun of your own employer, by indirectly saying that McDonalds is ready to waste the efforts of people losing their weights by offering fattening nuggets?

    • +16

      Haha. I don't think that's no secret.

      • +6

Some stores do all day lunch, those stores would commence the promotion at 00:00 27th. All other stores would but then stop when the breakfast menu commences at 04:00.

      • Thanks, how about Brisbane CBD store? 91 Queen Street, (cnr Albert & Elizabeth Streets), Brisbane, QLD =)

  • +1

This is awesome as that means KFC will probably go head to head, and KFC nuggets are vastly superior. Mmmm nuggets

    • Them's fightin' words!

    • Are McNuggets real chicken or glued-together?

      • +4

Transglutaminase is perfectly fine and healthy but I'm pretty sure they don't use it in nuggets anyway. You don't need to due to the way nuggets are made (finely minced and reformed like a rissole/meatball and further held together by the breading/coating).

They use 'meat glue' to reconnect big chunks of meat like a steak or one big piece of meat to another (bacon to a fillet of something else if that's your jam).

If you're thinking of pink slime, that's a different thing. It's 'lean finely textured beef', exposed to ammonia to kill bacteria. It's not used in nuggets because nuggets are chicken. I don't think McDonald's use it at all, at least in Australia. Personally, I have no problem with pink slime either. It's actually a wonderful scientific innovation and an extremely efficient use of cuts of beef that would otherwise go wasted. It has no ill health effects (beyond eating too much beef as part of a general dietary outlook), but has suffered in recent years from poor public perception (because it certainly does look weird in its raw form).

      • Here's a video (sponsored by McDonald's but not likely to be outright lies) showing how they make them. They aren't fillets, I'm not aware of any nuggets that are. It's too inefficient.

      • No chicken was harmed during the production of these nuggets ;)

    • You're going to lose that war, son.

Been a McNuggets man all my life.

My wife tried to eat 50 nuggets in own go when we were in the USA in 2010. She got to 33. I was both proud and disgusted at the same time. It only cost about $10 for 50! (Can't remember if that was the normal price or it was a deal similar to this).

    • +11

      She's a keeper that one

    • Yup $10 (plus tax) for 50.

I was tempted, but decided 20 for $5 (plus tax) was more prudent.

  • -5

Can you tell me what is the ingredient of the nuggets? 1% chicken + 90% chemical + 9% oil?

    • 1% chicken, so where is most of the meat coming from?

    • +6

      CHICKEN MCNUGGETS

Ingredients: White Boneless Chicken, Water, Vegetable Oil, Enriched Flour, Bleached Wheat Flour, Yellow Corn Flour, Vegetable Starch, Salt, Leavening, Spices, Yeast Extract, Lemon Juice Solids, Dextrose, Natural Flavors.
      Contains: WHEAT.

      • +1

Do you know the % for each?

        • +1

Well considering the ingredients list is essentially chicken and batter, I would say it's probably 90% chicken, 10% batter.

        • +2

          @Flying Ace:

          90% is VERY optimistic.

FYI, Inghams chicken breats nuggets have "minimum 62%" chicken (http://www.inghamsfoodservice.com.au/foodservice/media/produ…) and Steggles "premium" nuggets have 40% (https://www.steggles.com.au/chicken-nuggets-premium)

I remember the best ever nuggets were the old Aldi premium Tempura nuggets (had high 60s in terms of chicken). Not the same ones as they have now. I think Choice did a review a few years ago criticizing the chicken content of nuggets.

        • -1

@shaiguy: I know - I was just more illustrating the point that despite commonly held misconceptions, the ingredients are just chicken and batter.

    • +5

I hate to break it to you - chicken nuggets are 100% chemicals. So is an apple.

        • Thats some mighty fine mind blown'in.

    • The biggest issue with fast food isn't "chemicals". It is the high fat and sodium content, and also refined carbs. For example the ingredient listed as "white boneless chicken" could be constituted of any percentage of chicken FAT rather than meat, and animal fat is far worse for you than say olive oil, because animal fat is saturated fat.

  • To bad you can't get mustard sauce anymore.

    • +1

      Are you serious?!

      • +1

Yep. I asked for mustard a few days ago and they said they're not offering it anymore. Worst day of my life.

        • +1

          :((((((

I don't have a fallback sauce! Any suggestions? I can only think of asking for mayo or something…or BYO mayo or make my own mustard sauce???

        • +2

          Big Mac sauce

        • @Dean1: Don't think I like Big Mac sauce?

        • @Dean1:
Does the sauce come in its own packaging?

        • @MountFranklin:

Yes. Ala the summer snack pack.
They have garlic aioli now as well which is good.

    • +2

What the (profanity)!? No!!!! That was the only one I liked!!!! I'll genuinely stop buying nuggets if they stop making that sauce.

  • +2

starts AFTER australia day. that's just unaustralian

    • +2

Deal is not available at Sydney airport?

    • Is that a question or are you telling us it's not available at the airport?

      • I'm telling you and also at the same time asking why that is considering it says nationwide. I should of rephrased it.
