  • That seems too good to be true? How are they for reliability, I've not really looked into VPN services, but I think it's about time. For what I've seen on that VPN Secure site they seem quite good, but anyone can make a flashy site.

    Peoples experiences?

    • I read a few reviews first and they were generally pretty promising. Also noted that they're based in Brisbane, so if you want to support local businesses then this might be a good option.

  • I did make a payment and I have processed through the license will give you 7300 days for this payment. about this site trusty?? its more than trust its geek site deal and news ;)

    • So lifetime is 20 years? An old mans game ;) But doubt they'll be around in 20 years, so all good I guess.

      • +1

that's day remain, but the status for the account type is a lifetime. so if they can live further than 20 years maybe really a lifetime;p

        • +1

At least better than Winscribe's Lifetime which goes for 10 years renewable for free if you still remember to do so.

      • So lifetime is 20 years?

If only. Bastards are short changing us on leap years.

  • I have been with them for a month or two and they have been pretty good.

As mentioned above, Brisbane based, and extremely responsive to support tickets.

  • So can I use a VPN on demand, or does all my traffic route through it? I have a 100mbps connection and want to maintain my speed most of the time (I assume using a VPN will hinder this). I have 2 android devices running kodi, so I don't mind if most/all of their internet runs through a VPN, but I'd like to keep my mac on regular internet most of the time. Any help would be appreciated.

    • Yes, you can usually setup the OpenVPN client side, selectively. But I'll probably do it at the router side, to avoid having to do that. If I notice a performance drop I'll assess the setup.

      • You need to use their application on the devices you're using.
You can't set it up on the router, especially on the lifetime license because that only includes limited functions (from what I was told when I asked about setting up sstp/pptp).

        • It uses OpenVPN? Which if your router has a built in OpenVPN service, should be the same?

        • @Rumbaar:
Yeah my router didn't support that - they do provide ovpn files on signup.

        • @sxlayer: I just bloody discovered that my Netgear Nighthawk R8000 doesn't support Android Open VPN, only windows and Mac. Considering that android devices are my primary Kodi machines, it kind of makes the service useless to me right? (And I'm guessing I wont be able to access US netflix from my TV's OS).

        • @thorton82: You can install the vpnsecure android app but a bit painful to connect each time you want to use it.
Will not work for netflix - it detects it every time, at least in my testing - their ips must be on file with netflix.

        • do you have to use their APP? seems you can use PPTP to connect the service on PC, iOS and Android

          http://support.vpnsecure.me/articles/getting-started-pptp

        • @bctransit: Isn't included with this lifetime license, doesn't say it anywhere but that's what I was told by their livechat when I asked.
I started using purevpn for devices I needed pptp.

        • @bctransit: is it this straightforward to set up for windows? I can just hit disconnect/connect whenever I want to use it?

    • The VPN is per device and won't affect other devices.

  • I was using vpnsecure prior to signing up on one of the windscribe deals. Vpnsecure didn't slow down my connection, whereas WS does quite a bit

  • Awesome deal.

Deal of a lifetime (or 7300 days)!

  • Anyone tried them?
Hows the speed and do they allow P2P downloading?

    • Yeah any speed issues? Looks tempting

    • +1

Good speed compared to with/without vpn and yes allows p2p downloading, no logs too.
I clear about 1mbps to 1.2mbps down through vpn.

  • Anyone have experience with VPN Unlimited? Seems they have a 'lifetime' subscription for $29 USD.

    • +2

Yes. The performance is terrible, and it is annoying to use (on a Mac at least). Save your money; it is cheap for a reason.

  • I couldn't find it but, Unlimited Devices?

  • Is there any point at all using an Australian based VPN? Maybe it's OK for watching US Netflix or UK BBC iPlayer TV shows, but if you're doing it to stop our government spying on you, any Aussie based VPN supplier must keep logs and hand them over to police. Depends what you use it for I guess. If you're just using it to watch overseas TV, a smart DNS solition might be much more reliable.

EDIT: They state NO LOGGING, but I wonder if they HAVE to keep logs, as the government force ISPs to log activity. By providing a bandwidth-sharing service, I wonder if they are subject to the same rules. Maybe they are not now, but at any time the laws could easily be changed to include Australian based VPN providers.

Also they state "Package includes HTTP Proxy + Smart DNS solutions" so it probably is a very good deal for watching overseas TV shows through the Smart DNS.

    • +1

If government request for log file, those change will public and warning to members first. also if the government want to make those change. they will ask to pay for breach of contract. that will be a big amount.

    • It still hides your ip address from big corporations, but if your just trying to stop your internet activitiy being directly linked back to you this would be perfect.

  • Want kind of encryption do they offer and do they offer a custom dns server?

  • O.P. where do you enter the promo code?

  • Just bought it. Very straight forward to use. 7300 days subscription. Support is good

  • They only seem to have one working Aussie server. Second one is the same as first and third doesn't connect.

  • Just bought this. VPN Client wouldn't connect. Support were really good and quick. Seems it wouldn't create the virtual circuit unless I rebooted. Speed is not as good as I hoped. But will see if it improves over time. Still a very good price. If/When I get onto the NBN I might need a faster VPN provider, but that's 18months away so it will likely pay for itself by then.
