The price is $56.90 delivered. You should put that in the title.

    • agree… no good not having price in the title. saying "about half price" doesnt cut it

      thanks :)

  • Can anyone really recommend this headset?

I'd buy one to replace these Plantronics 367 gaming headset. It literally has NO BASS.
Inspite of all the good reviews I read out there, I bought one and was very disappointed.
I didn't even expect much knowing it was a gaming headset.

    • Depends what your driving them with and using them for, Unless your primarily gaming then id go for a known brand.
The Sennheiser HD201's from headphones.com.au for $46 are nice or the Sennheiser HD418's for $85. Had a pair of HD201's driven by a PC card for a year and they sound good for the price.

      • My sony headphones sound infinitely better though so I don't think it's my PC's problem.
Then again, those were meant for multimedia and not as a gaming headset.

Do those Sennheiser have a microphone attached?
There seems to be a whole generation of quality difference between gaming headsets and headphones.
Makes me want to just buy a microphone and use that with headphones instead.

I find that the commonly recommended gaming headsets and headphones all have weaker bass in order to not drown out little cues like footsteps and the like.

Buying decent headphones and a separate microphone will do a lot of good for sound quality, but it's a bit of an investment for a good pair of headphones.

      • I'd also recommend the Sennheiser HD201's aswell.
Don't be lazy and go get it from Officeworks! I got mine 4 months ago for $36.95.
I went there just last week to buy an external HDD and they were still $36.95, so check it out!

    • Wha? I have the Plantronics Gamecom 367 headset and I think they're great. They DEFINITELY do have bass and the closed ear design helps with this. Maybe not like that of a speaker system with subwoofer but I can definitely tell when comparing to cheap headsets. I think the closed ear design is the main attraction though as it isolates the sound so you can only hear what's in the game. Great mic design too. Plus they're really comfortable.

      • I've tried it again after reading your post and I still can't hear any bass in the Plantronics 367.
While my other headphones also lack as much bass as the speakers, at least they have SOME bass.
Yeah I like the foldable mic too and also the mute button. The cables look as though you can strangle someone with it!

But to me, the most important part of a headset is the audio quality and I'm not getting any of that. I paid $42 from eBay, quite cheap but now I wish I had gone for a headset known for it's bass.

      • Follow up:
Just got a sound card and plugged that headphone in and…
        KABLAMO!!
        FOR ONCE THERE IS BASS!!
Unbelievable how much a sound card can do!

  • Looking @ some reviews, these seem to be lacking a bit in bass, but score very well over all.

  • I am remember seeing these a while ago and just a heads up, I am fairly sure these are v1's…. That is why its so cheap

  • I had a set of these for about a year and a half. The sound from them are OK, descent for gaming and they aren't too bad for listening to music. They are a lot better if you run them with a descent sound card.

They are pretty tough as well, I used to drop them and do damage to the frequently but they still lasted a fair while.

I'd rather spend my money on some entry level Sennheisers though.

  • if you get it from ebay - most probably cheap knock off / imitation.
