  • Cheers op, got myself one :)

Thanks Ordered one. Do you have any ideas of (Up to 250 standard call minutes to selected countries) those countries?

  • W** PayPal link not working, waste of time

    • It did work for me. Maybe a browser problem?
      Good deal, thanks OP.

    • If you get message can not continue just do it again. It worked for me.

  • It's a reasonably good offer. Not as cheap as Kogan, but missed that one anyway.. :(

Bought 2 of these, had to go through checkout twice though with 1 each.

    • just bought another one for me dad

  • +2

Thanks. How strict do you think they are regarding the 30 day activation limit?

    • +1

i got the info from this page http://www.lebara.com.au/offer
so i thought i just point it out so people can decided whether it worth taking the risk of stocking the sim in numbers to later find out they are all blocked/useless.

  • I would be careful which password you choose to log in to Lebara as after I bought the 1st sim I went to buy another one and it didn't ask me for PayPal password like the first time. It went straight to payment.

    • +6

Go into your PayPal account and remove Lebrara from the pre-approved or connected list

      • Thank you.

Ok, tried that, but there is no Lebara under Pre-approved payments and Connected Sellers at all. The only reference to Lebara is the payment I made on the Summary Page.

Under Connected Sellers it says: You're not currently sharing any information.

Under Pre-approved Payments it only has 1 enabled, yet I can still buy on Lebara without logging on to PayPal first.

        • OK not sure what going on then. Try clearing the browser cache/cookies or logging in while using using private/incognito mode.

        • @LoungeLizard:

          Thanks for your help.
I'll try clearing cache/cookies, though using private mode don't think would help as if Lebara was broken into it could still be used inappropriately. Whether I log out and get back in doesn't make any difference. I thought it would forget me, and it didn't. Probably will have to talk to PayPal about it as it is not supposed to go to payment page without first logging in to PayPal.

  • Thanks OP. bought 1 early before it gets OZBARGAINED :)

  • Thanks
    Got 1

  • So I can wait 30 days from today to activate it then contact them to port number over? whats happens after the month is up is it automatically billed for the 2nd month?

  • OP can you please point to the 30 days to activation T&C as I couldn't find it?

  • "In order to prevent SIM being blocked activate within 30 days of purchase.".
I wonder how do they do this?

  • thanks OP. Got one.

  • For $5 more you can get an extra 3GB (8GB in total) with OVO https://www.ovo.com.au/sign-up?pc=OVO_50_DV&rid=ovo-web
I'm with them and have had no issues. They use the Optus network.

    • $35 on that link, am i missing something?

    • This is $5 not $30

      • Ohh yes, my bad for not reading it properly and just looking at the pic. Yes Ovo is $35 for 8GB (still a good deal IMO and their normal ongoing price) but definitely worse than $5!
Please move along, nothing to see here…

woohoo!! another one to add to my collection of prepaid sim cards!!! I'm all sorted til 2018..

    • +2

careful u need to activate this within 1 month of purchase as per TCs

    • just don't break your phone before then!

I'm reluctant to go past September because that's when iPhones become really cheap.

  • Lebara use the vodafone network if anyone was wondering, maybe put in desc?

  • +1

First month only? Or for two months.. Effectively till 31st March?

    • Likely to be one month only recharge will cost 29.90, the $5 cost for the pack valid till 31/3

  • If I buy from this link:

    http://www.lebaraonline.com.au/lebara-national-plan-starter-…

there is no mention of the 30 day activation deadline. Hence there is none as they are not allowed to introduce it later. If they wanted to enforce it there would have to be a notice right on that page.

It is unreasonable to expect a customer to hunt for hidden terms and conditions, especially if they seem to be contradicting. I think it is a scare tactic to stop people stocking up. Really not enforceable legally.

  • Can someone pls advise how is this helpful for existing customers. I've 3 active sim with them, 1 mini mega plan and 2 standard $10 plan. I bought the mini mega plan with 2nd month free. Trying to figure out how this can benefit in any of my existing services…don't want to loose the numbers….what is the best way

  • Lebara is great. Excellent customer service and you're not paying for 'perks' you don't need.
My only negative is they don't do international roaming so I'll be using Telstra prepaid for my upcoming overseas trip.

    • Off topic, which is better, telstra prepaid or vodafone prepaid for international roaming? Havent use roaming before and i got both kit,

      • Actually I've never used prepaid for roaming before. But it looks like it would be easy to use Telstra's app to add credit when I'm on hotel wifi. Not sure about Voda.

No difference in coverage, the networks are basically identical so recharging would be your main concern.

Your friendly post office is offering the same shit but with no limit of having to activate within 30 days as the post office is selling normal regular$29.95 packs at $5 while stocks last.

    • If you can find them, that is.

  • Bought one, thanks.

  • I'm already with lebara how would I go about getting in on this deal on my current number?

    • Port out to $2 sim on other network(ie non-lebara) and port in back to Lebara…

  • paloverde88:
Yes, but only big store have them and most dont have any stock, i couldnt find stock any where so was thinking of getting the mini mega pack with 2nd free offer and found this so yes if you can get hold of them from post office then that is better, at least there is no mentioning of when the sim has to activated by

  • Does Lebra still use the Voda network?

    • Yes. Voda owns Lebara as well!

  • Can someone help me out. So is this essentially a 5 dollar plan? i just keep paying 5 dollars each month? or is this a prepaid thing? or is it just 5 dollars for the first month? a bit confused :S

    • +1

$5 for first month…next month pay $29.90 or port out…:D

      • Or can I stop using it at 2nd month?

  • First time clicked - said out of stock
clicked after 5 minutes…it says $29.90 and second month free.
not sure if I am doing right?

  • All done looks like but the new deal of 2 months for 29.90 is slightly better anyway than the $5 if you were to stay with them

    • But if you buy 2 and disregarding the fact it would be a new number, wouldn't this be a better option? You just activate the other on the last day essentially giving you 2 months for $10 instead of 2 for $15.

  • Expiry Dates.
Why do some Telco's have sim starter kits with expiry dates and others don't have expiry dates.

    • +1

So you don't buy 12 of them and pay only $60 instead of $358.80.

  • Did anyone get a refund on a purchase?

    • Yes I did.

    • Both of mine arrived on friday

  • My orders are still in processing status.

  • Just received my orders.

  • Mine arrived, but the positivity ends there. Tried to activate and after entering personal details and clicking next, nothing happens. Even if I leave fields blank in personal details and clicking next it doesn't say I have to enter details. It does absolutely nothing. Tried on mobile by setting up APN manually and then going to activate just doesn't even want to load the page suggesting to reload the page. What's to reload… Bad start.

    • Try chrome? I have to call 1300126122 to get mine activated/port in, the website couldnt validate my address so the online activation is a dud, other than that the sim works fine, not bad coverage in shopping mall

It worked this morning, but last night neither on the phone or computer. Tried chrome and IE at the time. 4G showing and 4 bars, so not bad. Will see how we go.

        • Exact same thing with the Next button on personal details page at about 1am sunday. No info given, and no error messages.
Glad to read your tip, I hope it'll work in the morning.

        • @ggrant:

Seems they don't have a night shift. Finishing work.

Boss: you know we have to save money?
          Employees: Yeah…
Boss: turn off servers, we don't work overnight.

        • @bargainparker:
Buutt, it didn't work at 12.30 pm WST on today Sunday, in Firefox, chrome, Aurora.
I then tried Seamonkey 2.46, which is built on Firefox 49
and Voila, it worked all the way through. Service working in a few minutes.

So maybe there's some other explanation but worth trying this.
Verifying with drivers licence, is done live so maybe better than giving them CC.

They have a unnoticable tickbox regarding auto-recharge during activation, but there's no option in account to do this.

          Impression, sloppy company so far.

        • +1

          @ggrant:

Yeah, the miniature dachshund box is there and I almost missed it. If not careful some will have an unwelcome surprise when auto recharge kicks in.

  • All SIM cards for $14.90
Specially 10GB for $14.90 seems good offer
