  • what size might this drive be?

    • sorry .its a 1.5TB HD

  • Looks like there has been a general price drop in HDDs.

    • Resellers are becoming more competitive and selling products at a lower profit margin. Good for us customers.

  • Thanks. I am not a fan of pricesengine because of PayPal only option.

  • While it is the cheapest i could find, I don't really think this is such a great deal. iiBuy is selling these for $103 plus shipping, but pick up is also available. According to staticICE there are quite a few places selling them for round about $100 give or take a few bucks.
Still, even though its only about $4 cheaper than the next best price, it gets a positive from me.

  • Is it correct that the bigger the Buffer Size the better? i see some have bigger buffer size but lower RPM? what is better?

    • faster RPM = faster reads, however, the lower RPM drives are cheaper, less heat, which typically means more reliable…

so depends what you mean by "better"

      • +1

RPM isn't an issue nowadays with high densities. I'd prefer low RPM

        • should still give you faster read and seek speeds…seek speeds make a pretty big difference specially with many small files which general OS activity is made up of.
